@speuci It's everything. It is the absence of processed foods, which is such a problem. Processed foods leads directly to general health problems which easily turn into 'chronic' diseases, heart problems, and everything else in between. I just read a horrible report of a large number of 7 year old girls already starting puberty. It is NOT normal, it is because of lack of nutrition, essential vitiamins, and too many additives-preservatives-high fructose corn syrup, hormones. Everything.

or they are not getting enough of the correct food groups. I agree you cannot live on apples, oranges, celery, and brocolli. Your body needs much more variety than that, but it does NOT need animal protein. Marcus Rothkranz, Steve Holt, and Australian bodybuilder David Burke are living proof. @Pastorofmuppets84 There are many pitfalls to a raw diet if one doesn't educate themselves fully. (1) You have to make sure you're even getting enough calories for a day and (2) it is essential to get enough protein.
We can live without eating any animal protein. Obviously, since in the beginnings of man, it was not always possible to have meat. Sometimes, humans would have to be without animal protein for very long periods of time. It's all in how you go about it.
it is well known and documented that caloric restriction reduces the symptoms of type 2 diabetes. The more severe the restriction the more insulin resistance is reduced.
If Gabriel Cousens is lecturing in your area he is worth seeing. I recently heard him speak in San Francisco at the Living Expo; he is sent from God (whatever idea of God you possess) to help us learn and thrive!

Assuming the purported effects are true, is it the vegan food or rather the absence of the fatty McDonalds that is responsible for these effects?

Vegan diets are deadly. Veggies, fruit and nuts raw are great for you. But you can not live without animal protein.
I've known several vegetarian/vegan people who were stick figures, zero muscle mass and felt horrible.

B12 is the only thing that is a concern to people, and it can be obtained from many other places besides animals, as can the omega fatty acids.
