Glad the mix up is cleared. Everytime someone said Kai sang this, it always bugged me cuz my uncle, Jon Demesa, was a member of Simplicity. I know first hand that this wasn't Kai. Anyway, thanks for all those below who cleared it up! :)

And yes, it was "From the HEart" and His stage name was some white sounding name, I think it was Kevin Michaels, or something like that lol. He's like a brotha to me and I happen to know that he still writes and sings, even though he's in the navy now. He's a very talented man =o)
