VEVO had a perfect, clear version of this, but they blocked it from the USA. I hate music companies. I hope they all go out of business, then we can watch any videos we want.
For some reason the song always reminded me of Walk the Dinosaur by Was (Not Was). Both released in '87. Dinosaur in October. Couldn't establish what month this but I seem to remember it actually was around the same time. I wonder can anyone remember which came first?
I saw Squeeze/A Flock Of Haircuts/The Producers in a small ass club (100-200 people?) in around the summer of 1982 here in Grand Rapids,Michigan.....I had front row seats when Squeeze (the headliners) came on.....
They opened with "Is that love?".
Still talk that concert to this day.....
Am going to go see them in Detroit in August! yahh!
Its great being a geezer...we got to live this stuff in its prime.... Man I can remember when MTV actually had music video's. I remember staying up late to see the Thriller video for the first time.
Yeah, I hear ya' on that! Music videos today are just artists (if you can call them that?) lounging in da club, hot tube, and showing off in front of the camera.
Great song and I'm a big fan but have you ever tried singing B52's 'Love Shack' over it? Think about it and try it.'Looking for a loooove getaway...(take it to the bridge...)Just a thought.....
the heart and soul of Squeeze. Although Glenn might not possess the vocal chops of Paul Carrack, the songwriting abilites of Difford and Tilbrook can be compared ONLY to Lennon and Mc Cartney. They were indisputedly second best to the two Beatles during the halcyon days of rock. NB---Gilson Lavis is really Bill Parcells in disguise. :-)
Personally they are one of the greatest + most talentist groups ever to have been produced in british history!! U dont get bands like this anymore where you like almost every song they've done, some crap out nw and thats comin from a female of 18 haha, some of my mates would laugh at me for liking them but i dont giv a shit, they odviously dont appreciate good music!!
I listen to Oceansize and all the newest music now, but I still listen to squeeze, there's nothing else like them they're fucking ace, their chords taught me loads and their solos taught me the importance and simplicity of scales

They can stick to all thier rap crap n dance crap, although some dance stuff are good. Im stayin in a time warp and stickin to squeeze n all the other oldies that i love!. Do you like any other old bands?
Too bad the vid is truncated. You lose 2 stars for that. But in its original length this is 80s music video at its best: filmmaking and fun, where the inspired special effects (albeit the tried and true forced perspective) do not eclipse the song itself. It's been mostly downhill ever since.
ok so i dnt remember squeeze first time round coz they wer my dads era but they are fantastic! i have the dvd and 3 cds of them i think im prob theyre youngest fan hehe
Well they wernt round my era either and my dad listened to erm all the time, so i do now stranglers, squeeze the lot. Their better than most music now...

Video is Temporary. It Degrades as fast as the interest of the
subject. It is a great medium for the news and commercials.
A tool for the talentless wannabe filmmaker. The ruin of an
art form that can be had at Wal-Mart. That's why.
