you fail to realize that the bible is the only piece of literature that has such accurate prophecy that has happened in the past. is happening right now, and things that are to come.

since you are reading Sam Harris's books i encourage you to read the response to his " letter to a christian nation" .... The End of Reason From Ravi Zacharias. Please look at both sides. really read his book.

I haven't , "failed to realize" the Bibles prophetic power. I simply find it absolutely unconvincing. The Bible reads just as you would expect a text written by ancient desert people who knew very little about the world they lived in to read. It contradicts itself in itself philosophically, factually and morally. The simple truth is, humans are fearful, fragile and don't know everything so they invent gods for themselves to supplement their lack of understanding.

I was a believer for most of my life. I know what it is to think I've found the path to all the answers I would ever need in Jesus. I am so happy to have freed my mind from Christianity.

I want to free the minds of others. What have YOU got to loose. Try being skeptical of your religion the way you are skeptical of others. If Jesus is real, he will not loose his sheep. Try to free your perspective. Imagine this is the only life and mind your ever going to get. What would you do then?

Your asking me to WANT to believe in your God. Why would I want to believe that the Asian Tsunami was just another one of God's massacres? Why would I want to believe a torturous blood sacrifice 2000 years ago was somehow necessary and an act of love?  Why would I want to think that Abraham was wise to have almost slaughtered his child because God told him to?

"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe"? This is nothing more than advocacy of ignorance and totalitarian authority.

Perhaps you underestimate the extent of my disbelief. If your witnessing for "HIM" your going to have to start with the basics with me.  Why must I assume there is a creator of the universe? Why must it also be: 1) a conscious being, 2) gender distinguished, 3) observing an concerned with this world in particular, 4) interested in my beliefs? Why it so anthropomorphic and self centered? Could it be a product of human imagination? I think the answer is obvious. God is man-made.

Dear God, God of Abraham. The one who is declared Father of Jesus and yet Jesus also and also The Holy Spirit, yet still all together and at the same time one God. The one who is said to have created the everything in 6 days and also tortures and kills his son/himself in some effort to "save" humanity. Accept he/you didn't really die, you just had a really bad weekend and then you were fine. If your real, show me you are real. Enter my heart.

I have no doubt that your faith has brought you many enlightening and transformative experiences. I have experienced these things too. The difference is, I don't assign metaphysical causes to mine. I see no reason to make a baseless claim about gods or life after death to explain life. There is much I don't understand, but I draw no conclusions from my ignorance. I just hope to learn more because that is rewarding enough. I won't spend my life yearning for a vague concept of heavenly reward.

man forget every other religion and book of worship (of which there are literally thousands). This is clearly the only one that is correct. I mean come on so many of the vague prophecies have come to pass. That is unequivical proof that cant be denied. I cant wait for the magic man to come down to us on a cloud of glory and save our poor pathetic souls. Oh also evolution is a theory and all the proof we have that supports it is clearly made up.
