  • spark elemental from jon was one of the most shocking moments of my life..... REALLY?!

  • rich hagan chillin in the background

  • At 2:00 if the dude would just fan his cards out and just look at them he wouldn't have to keep fanning them. WTF, if wrong with him. He must have took him a big ol' bump before this match.

  • @88riddlemethis they do that to keep the opponent guessing at what's in there hand and if they are playing the card that they just drew.

  • @brianwarner1996 You are the biggest troll in the entire world..... HAHA

  • Coca-Cola is the shit drink of fat ass rednecks. He was drinking it to mock his opponent. God that stuff is so bad tasting. The only thing worse than that is Dr.Pepper.

  • @thebeybladetips lol right? it's easy to go pro it's hard to stay

  • If I were Jamie at 45:00 I would play bitterblossom.

  • yeah. they're playing on a train.

  • Are they on a train?

  • why do they shuffle thier cards in thier hands so fast?

  • @DeRocco21

Too speed up thinking and reactiontime.

    It works!

  • @DeRocco21 release nervous energy, to keep your opponent clueless when you draw a bomb...and its fun XD it has alot of uses.

  • Who won? (I didn't have the patience or time to watch the whole thing)

  • @flyingpiggehs Anti Malin

  • if they shuffled their hands any faster the friction would start a fire

  • @Justintb323 LOL, yea cause halo and call of duty aren't nerdy LAWL. Little fucking kid.

  • people take magic wayy to far like this it shouldent be pro go get a life

  • @rajeeb34 If I had the initial bankroll to be on the Pro Tour and win 10,000$ or 45,000$ for worlds, Getting that kind of money to PLAY magic, sit on my ass all day and play card games, I would do it in a heartbeat.

  • @nox0underling you and me both man

  • Someone making popcorn in the background...?

  • @MikeDak lmao

  • 0:01:53 man you can literally read the nervousness/tension. Look how many times this guy fumbles with his cards. Mind games are important too, and this guy unfortunately can be read like a book. :P

  • the audio is so bad.

Almost as bad as the camara job.

  • sounds like they're on a train

  • @OmegaProxy lol :-D

  • Agony Warp would be exciting at 1:10:00.

  • Magic has come along way. No Dark Ritual into Bitterblossom, Thoughtseize.

  • man i just got into magic this summer, i wish i knew the game that well.

  • dudes this was an epic and i think my monored goblin/dragons deck wouldnt stand a chance against any of these decks

  • uau iam impresed i am brazilian and here no much people play and here have abylites where i never heard about very good :)

  • ugh i love magic but i dont have the money only 13 years old and cant get like 100$ for my elves deck :*(

  • i love magic. i play and duel nearly everyday. if i get to this level, i will make sure i have studied my cards like these guys

  • lol you said duel

  • The music during the awards ceremony is the GREATEST THING EVER.

  • i wish the audio was better quality =/ else entertaining for a [non tournament player]

  • @dzzviper Well, it's 2008 so it's basically the dark ages.

  • COCA COLAAAA

  • same here. im a good magic player but i can't get that certain touch to my decks

  • I wish i thought as deeply about the game as much as these guys are, id probably be alot better player.

Like I want to have the knowledge of the upsides and downsides of my possible actions more

  • did u hear the narrator say these guys both went 6-0 in the booster draft? these guys are insane. If u want to be more like these guys u have to be really serious and spend hours and hours every day studying cards and putting together strategies and deck ideas, and figuring out what beats what. for one thing, I would easily say these guys know every card in the block and just about every card in the game.

  • what did I miss at 0:31:32 I dont see how he won.

  • Bitterblossom finished off Annti in his upkeep

  • He had two bitter blossoms in play with 2 life, as soon as his upkeep started he lost two and subsequently lost the game.

  • Well i guess it's the same reason why poker players flip their chips... Just to distract the other player..

  • It's a technique that let your opponent can't remember the sequence of your cards.

For example, your opponent played a big threat (let says, Doran for example) and you can't deal with it by the cards in your hand. For the next few turns, you just draw lands and play them directly, then, your opponent will know that you still have no solution for his Doran.

The longer you keep a card in hand, the more information that your opponent can get. He can guess the card type or mana cost of the card.

  • Ahh yea ofcourse.. Thanks for the info.. ^^

  • i never would've guessed fae and 5CC would make it(sarcastic)

  • Coke always finds a place in a video

  • hellyeah that or pepsi your watching a show all of a sudden COCA COLA SCREAMER

  • i play with burn deck in legacy, kithkin deck on standard and artifacts deck in shards of alara block

  • Mindshatter. Now the coast is clear.

  • yea most ppl talking about turn2 kills, etc. don't have even any small thought about what is legacy

  • At these tournaments, can you play any edition (except for banned cards) or are there restrictions as to which editions can be played?

  • I'm not totally sure what you're asking but i can explain formats.

    1. Standard- tenth ed.- lorwyn through shards

    2. Extended- 8th onslaught through shards

  • For example, I have a deck with cards from editions like urza's legacy, stronghold and stuff like that, could I play those in a tournament like this one?

  • Oh do u mean like how faerie conclave was in urzas and was then reprinted in tenth?

    Because if so... yes

  • But there are some that weren't reprinted later, I couldn't play those right? If not I think its bullshit by wizards because its just another way for them to make millions more, its just a cheap shot to players. I really think that the worlds should be a tournament with all editions available for all players, don't you?

  • You could say that. You could also say it just keeps the game fresh - either we let the game stagnate by not having any incentive to play 99% of new cards in tournaments, or we have the current system where the same deck doesn't get played at worlds two years in a row.

Worlds is just one tournament. You're talking about legacy/vintage - the types of magic that allows most series to be played.

  • Yeah I guess. But I think that this particular event should allow players to mix cards that are years apart, and also allow the expertise of experienced players to come into play. In my opinion that could make this tournament that muck interesting, but its an opinion...

  • ya i definetely know what you are saying ... I mean I played at worlds and there were tons of side events and places to play a deck like u r talking about the only reason that it is seperate like that is because very very old sets like alpha/beta are just insanely overpowered

  • Hmm... With today's cards effects I don't agree completely. But be that as it may, maybe beta/alpha are too monstruous to play there, but editions like the urza block, prophecy, invasion, nemesis, stronghold, tempest etc, should be allowed in. They are not overpowered or with insane abilities like the elders, don't you agree?

  • just look at pro tour berlin extended. of the top 8 more than half played elfball that could win on turn 2. This is why standard is the more accepted format as it demonstrates players ability to adapt.

  • Yeah, also players money to follow... It is kinda dum to flush thousands of dollars, to keep playing on the long run, in cards... If you stop playing for like 2 or 3 years you have to spend lots of cash just to update, its just sad that bilionaires have to come up with these kind of ways to earn more money! If there are cards that can kill you at turn 2 ban'em!! Hell, there are banned cards that I don't understand why they're banned anyway!

  • Thanks for taking the time to upload this! Sounds is mauled with static but otherwise pretty cool.

  • It comes like that straight from Wizards unfortunately..who knows why they don't record it in high-def and then provide a low-def stream for the 'live' coverage.

    Thanks for the upload Alicabob.

  • finaly its up! thanks man, you know why there isnt a live feed any more?

  • There is a live feed on the Wizards website. You just have to know where to look. It was under the Worlds section on the Magic site.

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • good match

  • the sound quality could be better, but thanks for the upload anyway!!
