My problem is the idea that creationism should be tought in science classes, as an alternative to legitimate, verifiable science. It's impossible to separate creationism from intelligent design since an intelligent designer would be the creator. It's using semantics to obscure the issue.
The difference between religion/creationism/ID and atheism? The former is uncompromising and unconditional, unswayed by evidence to the contrary, intolerant of questioning of its tenets and beligerent toward those who express disbelief. The latter is a rejection of inflexibility and blind belief coupled with a search for a deeper understanding of the processes that we and all things around us are a product of. I actually think that none of this is laughable and in many ways it is sad.

We've reached the point where creationists are reduced to either making vague criticisms of current evolutionary theory (while not criticizing much weaker theories like gravity) or just outright lying. Eventually, all creationists who defend their beliefs have to make a choice: remain honest or remain creationist. It's impossible to defend creationism honestly.

People who make assertions such as "...dating methods are... based on unproven and questionable assumptions" should be called out and forced to state what those claimed assumptions are and should be called upon to disprove these so-called "assumptions". It is clear that creation/ID proponents have no idea what constitutes the scientific method. A theory is an attempt to explain observed phenomena and often makes falsifiable predictions e.g. gaps in the fossil record motivated further searches.

"design theory" ? what design theory?!
The word 'theory,' when used in scientific nomenclature, does not mean a best guess, but a body of facts that thus far best explains observed events. It is always subject to potentially new discoveries and so we use the word 'theory.' There is no intelligent design theory.

It is obvious that ID is creationism in a plastic false moustache but, when you look that idiots society website you see an opinion that is similar to Newtons opinion that the hand of God moved the clockwork universe, as distinct from the "theory" he is forwarding. I would hasten to add that this is the only logical flaw I could see in the video and that the only defence these people could raise in the court of ME to defend the charge of destroying young minds is their own mental retardation

Design Theory is "de-legitimized" because it has no merits. The bold face lie that it was ever legitimate as a theory is offensive, ignorant, arrogant, and dangerous. Intelligent Design is NOT a theory, it is a childish wish.

@SuperPais No, I think evolution is "proved" because it has literal mountains of supporting evidence and observations and has been peer reviewed and tested by thousands of independent scientists and not been found lacking. And the only people who DON'T think evolution is "proved" are people who don't understand a flying fuck about it.
Disbelieving in evolution is like maintaining that the Earth is flat and the sun revolves around it. It reveals a startling willfull ignorance of reality.

Not always. It depends entirely on reproductive rates. Of course, you'd know this if you knew the first thing about evolution.
I ask you...explain ERVs, atavisms, transitional forms, physiological, anatomical, and molecular vestiges, ontogeny and developmental biology, protein functional redundancy, convergent phenotypes, mobile genes, observed speciation, or any twin-nested hierarchy of phylogenetic clade without evolution.

It's no more "copy paste" to send you to where the relevant data can be found than it is to hand a child a textbook in science class (unless you expect me to personally transcribe approx. 300 pages of data for you on YouTube), but I can understand how someone who is as apparently resistant to education as you are would see it that way.
