  • cooooooooooooooooooollllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I cant use blender, its so difficult!! I watch all the begginer tutorials and i just dont understand. Argh! Id love to be able to use it!

  • Philippines!:D

  • For everyone asking for a tutorial. All you do is model, animate, add effects, and render. For this one all he did was take a picture or found one, and placed lights accordingly so that the shadows match the picture. It looks like he added AO (Ambient Occlusion), and probably GI (Global Illumination) effects. You can find tutorials on different cars to model on Google, you have to model each piece that you want to move separately. To make something like this, you have to have time and patience.

  • I agree with everyone, this is really good, I wish it went longer :P. I've always wondered how the professionals do it though. I mean like the big movie ones like Transformers. Just making 6 seconds is hard, imagine an entire movie, 2 hours. I know they have a bunch of team members, but getting everything so perfect, I would imagine it would take some time, and some super computers.

  • DUDE TUTORIAL PLEASE ILL MAKE LIKE 30 ACCOUNTS AND ILL SUBSCRIBE PLEASE! PLEASE!! BRO PLEASE MAKE A TUTORIAL!!

  • wow, ive used blender, this is difficult

  • LIKE !

  • Can I borrow your car? :P

  • @bertoloni10 you are just a dumb mexican so shut up and learn english

  • why do people ask for tutorials on stuff like this? the only way you will be able to do this is through practicing. Plus, making a tutorial on this would take schlong

Transformers Z still a test render though and a wip.

  • @3djav that's cool. how did you do that in lightwave?

  • Holy shit that was badass, I want to make one of these now.

  • @nicksta98 Ignore that jerk, it's called blender. Free download too

  • @DrDoodicles That I can agree with. There were several commercials that did that btw. If this guy really made it, then bravo, also who knows, he could have been the guy who actually modeled for the commercial.

  • @DrDoodicles How could I be, you idiot. It's from a car commercial, it should start dancing right afterwards. Think before you post.

  • LOL this is blender?!!?!?!?! looks like in real life!!

  • could you make a tut ive been lookn evry where

  • BRAID THE BEST LIE EVER. PLEVACOS

  • That's not blender, it's from a commercial.

  • Well I'll be damned. They DO exist!

  • WOW, i can't work with it, way to difficult !! xd

  • amazing work the best i could ever do was make square wobble lol

  • its hard, but with lots of tutorials, u can get the hang of it

  • @Borgetti56 the real hard one is maya.....you need proffesional skills....

  • is blender hard to do??

  • really nice. I was wondering how people do the transformation. Very nice. I loved it. Impressive Blender skills.

  • Lol thats was amazing!

  • nice, if you put that on a video will be greatessome!

  • great !

  • Interestingly enough, I read an article in which the Lead Lightiing artist at ILM (Industrial Light & Magic, the guys who did about 75% of the Transformers) commented on how to make them actually transform. He said that they used wide-screen, up close, focused shots when showing the parts moving because they actually had no clue how to do it.

If it were to be zoomed out and show the whole thing, it would just be parts flying all which way randomly with a dude emerging out of it.

  • and that is how it looks to me. its more like morphing (like the T-1000 from terminator 2) than transforming.

a transformer sould be made up from the car parts he transforms into, we sould be able to tell what they would become. and where the parts go.

i cant, save maybe some tiny things like color (if any) and doors. this is a big mistake in the design i would say.

you can tell in the 07 movie when megatron jumps and becomes a plane in one of the few wideshots ''transformations''

  • Show me that article! I demand URL!!! O_O *lol*

  • It was in the magazine Cinefex, if you have an account, you can read their version of the internet magazine, article 119.

As to Henkman00, Michael Bay specifically said for the second one he wanted any of the robots to be made outa car parts, so they built them from the ground up peice by peice! There's over 180 miles worth of car parts, and Devestator alone (the giant dude) has 53,000 parts within him, or 15 miles worth of parts. It would take 16,000 years to render him on a 2.0 ghz processor.

  • You'd think it would be easier (and significantly less expensive) to design the robot first, then build the alternate mode around THAT. ;P

  • It was made with Blender, which is free

  • Nice stuff. Love the lighting

  • nice job

  • That's fecking awesome dude

  • awsome!!!!!

  • increase the duration and frame/per second. it would be all nice. thanks

  • the animation would be slower and wont have the same effect?

  • i can see hard work

  • holy **** on a **** sandwich

  • Heyyyy!!! not bad, I like it. Nice vid!!

  • Cool, was that a Nissan Maxima?

  • I think it's the 35OZ

  • i is a nissan 350z

  • Nice but you could have let us see him stand all the way up.

  • Please make a tutorial

  • How do u colour car and make it transform?

  • te jugaste al truco el motor!!

  • could you please make a tutorial on how to make this?

  • @realdealmagic101 xD ^^ Dude you can find a tutorial how to make a wheel spin maybe^^ but not for something like this ^^ too long :)

  • Awesome !!!!

  • i was wondering how long you've been working with blender and where you learned to do this type of thing...? XD

  • aah ... those japanese imports ...

    :D

    nice animation

  • waw...very well done...congrats

  • plz post a tutorial for this

  • that must've been hard

  • what the hell is blender, i wanna create a transfomer!!!

  • Blender is a free 3D program, i'ts like a soft version of 3D Studio Max, Maya or Lightwave

  • you aint gonna make a transformer your first day kid lol

  • Greatt! x

  • can you tell me how to start?

i dont ven know how to start but i want to make a transformer, help pls

  • Please!!! Finish this animation! It already looks so damn cool ;-)

  • that was amazing!!!!!! howd u do that???

  • how do u get the animation to run so smoothly, mines always so slow, and yafaray wont work.

  • please put a tut on how to do that

  • Hey this is an amazing animation. i tried to make a simple transformer of my own but it didnt work out. Could you make a simple tutorial on how to make a simple transformer. maybe just a couple moving parts. Thanks. keep up the good work.

  • if this was when u were learning. ur mega awesome pro

  • dude finish this awesome video

  • If I didn't read the title I would think it was real

  • Great work! Blender is amazing and I'm convinced its artists are some of the great minds of our time!

  • How do you do that?? man this is awsome, does anybody know how to do this?

  • use blender3d available at blender3d (dot) org

  • can you say that in english?

  • sorry XD I know that you used blender for this, I use blender too. What I'm asking is; how did you do it? did you make the car first? did you make every single piece? what's the process like? did you use an armature? O.O

  • I assume he made the car model first, then divided it into separate pieces and used armatures for all of them.

  • omg i dont even know how to split the screen lols

  • i hope one day i'll be able to do this but it will take a couple of years

    FANTASTIC

  • This is fucking sick!!! You are amazing if you made this WHILE you were learning to use Blender. I can't even make anything close to this yet.

  • omg! how the fuck did u do that with blender?

  • That's awesome!

Shaders could use some work though :P

  • holy fuck

  • wow, awesome dude

  • pretty good

  • why is it only 5 seconds, i am outraged (hee hee)

  • tht is sooo sikk!!

  • Speechless

  • sweet. sideswipe from revenge of the fallen

  • Very nice done you have a good eye for realisitic animation and lightning !!!

can you tell me how you have made it just in a few lines. it will help me a lot by doing my research. just the way you have created this.

how to do rigging is there a special way for the transform an easy way ?

kind regards ! keep up the cool videos comming

  • lol only half video and 5*

  • dude, how long did it take for you to do THAT?

  • woooooooooooooooooow !!!!! man looks awsome

  • WOW!! AWESOME!

  • omg that is amazing! i just cannot understand how to use blender and i had no idea you could do that!? nice job...maybe you could do a beginners tutorial or a short explanation of what you did here? any help would be great!

  • I've uploaded the final animation. You can watch it on my main page.

    The title is Felled.

  • i have a blender cgi thingy but how and wer did u get that robot?

  • AGHHHHHHHHHHH It's alive

  • Yes!! I want to copy off of your hard work that you spent hours and hours modelling, compositing, rendering, animating! tell me exactly how you did it so I dont have to put any effort out! Tell me tell me tell me!!!!

  • Well i think a tutorial would be nice

  • You gotta make a tutorial! I wanna use that in animation effect, on my transformers video I'm soon to be making. Please make a tutorial!

  • yeah a tutorial would be great

  • Thatis completely awesome! please do a tutorial!

  • Ya, that is great for a start, thanks! I think it is a little too complicated for me right now. Hopefully the tutorial will come out soon :).

  • PLEASE MAKE A TUTORIAL ON THAT!!!

  • I totally agree!

  • I am also learning blender and am very interested in making something similar to a transformer. I have three questions.

Since each little piece is a different object do you get unorganized?

Once you have the transformer and the car, how do you add an armature so that it applies to it?

How do you get the car to be able to turn exactly into the robot form? It seems like every piece is there for a reason.

  • Things can get a bit disorganized the more parts you animate when you're starting out. To get organized I distributed the robot and car parts into separate layers. Torso in layer1, arms in layer2, legs in layer3, etc.

The armature also helped here because each piece was parented to a corresponding bone and so they move as a single part. Forearm parts to forearm bone, etc.

Start with a basic "human" rig then just add more bones down the heirarchy for each piece that will animate.

  • For question 3, it's essentially a robot with car parts for skin. So the more parts you used from the car to the robot the more credible the illusion.

I will try get into more detail when I make a turtorial but I hope this helps you get started.

  • WOW! amazing!

  • Simply amazing, my friend. I want to go and do something like this right now. Your 350z is dead-on. If you care anything at all about your fellow blenderers(?), you will upload a tutorial or, even better, the actual .blend file. Kudos to the max.

  • How long did it take you to do this lol that was amazing

  • Sweet! Good Job!!!!!

  • Animations like this are the holy grail for me.

  • Very Nice!

  • Nice make it longer

  • Fantastic. The spinning front wheels is a nice effect

  • Those graphics are better than crysis! I thought that was an actual image until front bumper imploded

  • This is the most awesome blender animation i have seen lately. Dude.. I really need to learn this transformers trick for my short animation.. am struggling hard, but all in vain. can you please give a small hint how you make the the pieces out of one object and then individually animate them.

  • Plan how to divide the object. In edit mode select faces of what will be the first piece, shift+D to duplicate then press ESC. Press P and choose SELECTED. This will make a separate object out of your duplicate. Stay in edit mode and do the same process for all the other pieces you need. When you exit edit mode you will have the original Object and your new pieces. Move original Object to another layer to get it out the way Then animate the pieces to 'transform'. Hope this gets you started.

  • stinkin awesome

  • This is awesome man! You think you can make a tutorial for transformers please? I've looked everywhere for one but had no luck.

  • Wow, you seriously do have talent. It wasn't until my second look through that i realized that the Car was Blender generated all the way through and ive used blender extensively myself. I would honestly suggest using these CGI skills in paid work with much more effective programmes but thats just my opinion

  • sweet

  • make a tutorial please

  • hi i plan to make one soon, but right now im using up my blender time(free time) making this short animation project i've set-up to learn blender.

  • cool

  • wow... great job!

  • ...you made this while LEARNING blender!!?

You should work for a film cgi company!

Like how the reflections and shadows make it seem like it belongs in the environment - loads of people forget that

And of course, the animation is brilliant!

    Great job

  • thanks for appreciating the details, well what's left of it :-) a lot was lost in the upload, and everything got darker.

  • brilliant - can't believe you're only just learning blender!

  • this is bad ass can you make a tutorial please please please!
