  • memories.....i remember i used to go absent on schooldays just to play the earlier version of M&M. lol

  • i miss M&M7 so much, it was the last great M&M i may just go and install it

  • PLEASE make a new Might and Magic game!

It HAVE to be good, not like the crap the game developers do today. Make the characters awesome, the story awesome and the monsters awesome. Do not change the gameplay, its supposed to be able to go into combat mode and PAUSE the game, because it would be too hard otherwise.

  • @DaReaperZ I wish there will be a new M&M game or games too... M&M 6-7 is my favorite games of all time.

  • @DaReaperZ I wish too...

  • thumbs up if you are nr 30000 :D

  • the turn base mode button is enter

  • Hmm... i actually never touched one of the MM games... say is this one playable with one character? im not really a fan of multiple character partys

  • lol how do you go in combat mode... didnt know their was a button for it

  • @poophead156 As with MM6, 7 and 8 there is both a realtime and a turn-based option for combat in MM9. It's been more than two years since I last played the game so I don't remember the button for turn-based, but I'm sure it can be found in the manual and/or keyboard menu.

  • @Demiath i stopped playing mm9 because i couldnt find the turn-based button xd and that was really a bummer

  • @poophead156 Well, a quick Google search informs me that the key for turn-based mode is Enter. Must have been *really* difficult to find... ;)

  • @Demiath LOL, thanks was used to "c" like in 7 and 8 xd a

  • @poophead156 "c" is for spellcasting, Enter was used for turn-based in MM6-8 as well.

  • @Demiath lol, at my games "A" was for attack and "s" voor spells =s

  • Neoliberalist selfishness ruined this game and its series.

  • mm4 and mm5 where actually the best of the series, imo

  • This game, although flawed is pretty ok. My main complaint about this game was the reduced freedom i.e the landscape was divided into accessible/inaccessible areas so you could really only explore that much. You also can´t fly in this game but there is another spell that boosts your run speed. Meteor shower sucks and the enemy count is greatly reduced.

  • @Demiath Well, I've still got a shitload of games to complete INCLUDING the awesome Wizardry 8. 4 years of trying and I still haven't been able to complete it. I love those old-school RPGs but I'm absolutely terrible at them...

  • @TheGameSquid Well, Wizardry 8 in particular can be tremendously difficult to get into at first (you could say it took me 3 years (!) to even figure out how to make a good party ;). The initial 5-10 hours are probably the most challenging in the entire game - as long as you have a half-decent party it should get a lot easier after that...

  • After years of doubting, I'm still not sure whether I should pick up MM9 or not. The entire game seems rather... hollow and soulless. But on the other hand, this is one the few old-school 3D first person RPG's out there...

  • @TheGameSquid The game is definitely hollow and soulless compared to, say, Wizardry 8 (the last great 3D first person RPG). MM9 is only worth if you've got nothing better to play at the moment; something which is always going to be very unlikely...

  • Every might and magic game after 6 was rushed and released too early. They probably weren't even finished with the engine. 3DO (the publisher) ruined NWC's masterpiece series. Might and Magic 4,5 and 6 ftw. 7 was OK. You can tell it was a little rushed and 8 was ridiculously rushed. Soooo easy, with small areas that take a marginal time to clear.

  • I have buy this game in the intertoys for 1.98 it is weak!

  • The door at 1:21 definetly needs some serious oiling!

  • I hate this games loot functon

  • well i think i may be f*cked my boat capt disappeared and i'm in thjorguard, i'm not strong enough to go through mountain pass (i've tried) are there any other ways to get to another city? i have town portal but it's low level so i just go back to thjorguard if i'm too close but i cleansed the altars at sturnford and south but how can i even get close enough to use my tp?

  • Try saving more...............

  • I like this game. Of course it isn't as good as the VII VI and VIII but still it;s a great game that I gad fun playing.

  • My favourite M&M is #6

  • This game isn't terrible, but just kind of mediocre all around. There are plenty of good ideas, but for every good idea or feature there is a bad idea or incomplete piece of content.

  • I think that's a fair assessment. A lot of people overstate just how bad this game is by mistaking old school RPG mechanics for bad design. There's a lot to dislike about this game, but it's not the worst RPG ever...

  • @ArbitraryWater i loved 6 and 7 never played 8 but this game i couldnt play longer then 30 min, i couldnt stand it. they tried to make the game more 3d i suppose, to bad they should stick to 2d, i didnt care about the looks in those game it was the story and the creation of your characters what made the game so powerfull, and they shouldnt have changed the cute creation panel, in this game the panel was to serious

  • @Venomonia I played 6 and 7 too, I also played 8(playing it now again ;p )

and I have played 9 two times. Isnt really a bad game at all, but the first hours are gruesome though.

  • @CartmanLandZ witch good service you bought mm8, btw mm6 is still the best of all series, i loved everthing about it, but mm7 had more options to play with npc, switching to dark or light was the best part of it, the controls was the only thing crappy about it, i was hoping for different endings like in fallout 2, and also i hoped for a party bonus if you created all druids or all paladins, like a faction or order, i dont care about graphics for this sort of games, to bad you can make huge games

  • @Venomonia Yea mm6 was really good, but I liked mm7 more. But that could because I played that game when I was older, So I understanded it better.

ill probally play mm6 later again, but as a abdult now I simply dont have the time anymore :( . and what do u mean with "witch good service you bought mm8"?

  • @CartmanLandZ sorry for my broken elgnish but i would like to buy mm8 cheap, i have all the series from heroes mm1 to mm5 and mm 1 rpg series to 9 except for mm8, i am loyal 3do collector that misses one piece, btw there is allways pension to play your good old games back, if you dont have time now :p

  • @Venomonia No problem with the broken english, my english isnt magnificient either. But U can buy one probally on ebay for like 10 bucks max or so(not including shipment). As a mm fan your going to enjoy mm8 allot, have fun man. Its a game in the top 2 of my mm list :)

  • Nononono!!! ALl previous parts were teh best! VI VII VIII!!! Not IX! Even music is horrible there!! No good story blah blah!

  • You may think whatever you want about me ,but this IS the best M&M i've played. I like the oldskool feeling of this so much..

  • It's a little similiar to Morrowind by Bethesda I think XD

And ... this LOOKS better in some ways! Or maybe I'm just saying that cause I'm an alltime NVC and 3DO fan?

Anyway. Bethesda later made magnificant OBLIVION, as a sequel to Morrowind, which has unbelieveable remarkable graphics. With that said, I think that if these series were kept going by NVC and 3DO in an upgrading way like this, they would have made a grand competition to Bethesda's games!

What with all the storylines and world!

  • patch page at telp doesn't work.

  • Well, I checked them again and they still work for me...

  • what I meant was link on the page didn't work - had to get it from somewhere else.

  • Yeah I got that and the links on the page still work for me (Patches -> Download -> 1.2, 1,3a and 1.3b).

  • Darck messiah was dumb-.-

It wasnt like the other might and magic

  • It was much more a reworking. I found it more accesable than the previous games, however.

  • You sire have obviously not tasted the great pleasures of M&M 3 till 6, all fantastic games which are still very much playable today.

Oh if only they made a true successor to those games!

  • The thing that made this unbearable to play (as a true fan of MM6, 7, and 8) was two things... The way all your characters start out as one of two classes, then it takes hours of gameplay to advance into unique characters. This might have been bearable if not for the "Paper-Doll" way they presented the characters in the menus. I felt like I was marching a party of clones everywhere.

  • Oh hey I remember that place, you can constantly respawn artifacts and relics from a chest in there...

  • good game, but not good as VI,VII and VIII

  • four magic more

  • i have this game but now i have vista and this

    dont work very great

gound is good but it doesent show me the picture when i load to 1st level

but when i played it all my mans was level 30

if you get to the end then make a video and upload it! i always want to see the end of

    M&M9

  • Thank you for sharing! I agree the earlier titles were far more enjoyable. Hopefully Jon Van Canegham is conjuring up yet another great game sometime soon!

  • I definitely agree that both MM6-8 and Wizardry 8 are more enjoyable than MM9, but I feel the difference between MM6-MM8 and MM9 in terms of actual gameplay mechanics have been somewhat overestimated. I recently played MM6-8 for the first time and now that I've started playing MM9 it surprises me just how many of the skills, spells and stats aspects from the earlier games have made it into the new game engine. Sure, MM9 IS watered-down, but it's still recognizably a Might & Magic game.

  • I didn't like this game at all, even with the TELP patch on top. Everything about this game was stripped down, for example the skill system, and it felt like a really weak experience. This is especially true when you compare it to it's predecessors 6,7 and 8 as well as it's contemporary Wizardry 8. All of those games were complex and highly configurable through stats and skills. M&M9 was an uninspiring and watered-down CRPG. It's a shame really, as the rest of the series was stellar.
