Many years ago there was an interview with Iva Davies and Bob Kreschmer about this song. He explained to the interviewer that the song arose from a mental image of a military general who weighs 20 stone (280 lbs) dancing around in a disco. That's what I imagine when I hear this song...

Ivas voice is great, but how can you follow the stellar "No promises" with this tune ? Especially the video, I mean he's neither Bowie or Michael Hutchence. Should have stayed more enigmatic I think... just Iva Davis. Although I liked this track as a kid and at least that's something :D
