What bout the little dudes who used the ELF Whips and self-detonated? They just looked like two legs with a square on top. What were there names?

I guess you have these in mind? :) They weren't shown in the front menu, but as cited from Communications here:

Anyway, they're named VERMINUS, and they come out of some special buildings. 2 per turn from 1 building. :)

Yeah thats them, those dudes fucked me up like crazy, the Whips went right thru shields and fucked up my hercs, especially cuz at the time of the mission i had some shit that took away from the chassis but upped shields, so i got fucked lol
