although these laptops can take alot of splashes, they are not waterproof, and water will get in and do damage if it is submerged.
the main areas that are not completely sealed are the base, where the battery and hard drive go, and the hinges on the screen though these holes are mainly to let water out
that being said, i swam in the pool with this laptop when i was drunk, and it worked fine after it dried out for a couple days in the sun, though it temporarily didnt work when it was soaked
i bought a panasonic cf-48 today its the best im using it to write this comment
