  • i had the silly dubbed version (stupid yanks)

then got the original....wow what a difference

  • anyone notice when max turns to the goose and asks, "when do we go for a ride?", the goofy face goose is making?

  • ive seen it and heard it and still awesome when i watch the movie

  • "She sucks nitro!"

  • @maujo2009 - the Knight Riders (stolen) pursuit special was a Holden Monaro. Max's car in this scene is a XB Ford Falcon coupe, and the other police cars are all XB falcon sedans.

  • @wavecentral Actually one is a XA Falcon & at the accident scene I think Max's boss with the bald head is driving a Impala or Fairlane not sure from memory.

  • The original soundtrack is better than the American accent version. The car is an Australian Ford Falcon. Ford North America dropped the Falcon nameplate in 1970, but Ford Oz continued with a home grown version, the Falcon nameplate is still produced to this day in Oz. BTW, in this version, you can hear the blower belt whine....edited out of the US version.

  • So Goose and Barry fixed and enhanced the V8 destroyed by the Knight Rider?

  • @maujo2009 The Knight rider was the first criminal killed in the film, well him and his skag girlfriend. They where in the stolen 'persuit special' in the first scene.

  • @saffcos4x4 I know, but if you compare his Pursuit Special with the Last of the V8s (from this scene) you'll notice they look very similar, so I always wondered if they were actually the same car but Goose & Garry fixed it.

  • my dad made me watch this when i was about 4. now im a serious petrol head!!

To be honest i do prefer the dubbed version but LOVE the proper supercharger WHINE!"!!!

  • I want 600rwhp!

  • "Kick it in the guts Barry!" Classic - my mate Seany and I were saying this all around California with our Aussie accents when we were driving a black Mustang around the place, and the Americans had no idea what planet we were from haha...

  • I had a version of this movie with American overdubs, and it was really lousy. Thank God DVD's have subtitles nowadays.

  • I've never seen this movie and even I know that this has to be seen in it's original splendor.

I suppose I could Netflix it this moment but they better have the original soundtrack.

    Can't wait to see it!

  • hahaha, it is kinda hard at times to understand what theyre saying, but i like the authenticity. i guess im one of the few americans who appreciates culture.

  • she sucks nitro

  • she's the duck's guts!

  • i've seen the dubbed it makes more since in australian.

  • lovly music my son :L v8 supercharger

  • i think Shelby supersnake for the remake of this film

  • @kuhndog52 You could never substitue an American muscle car for an Australian Car in any Mad Max movie. The XB Falcon may resemble a Mustang in a basic way, but there are huge differences. It would be like doing another version of Gone in 60 Seconds with something Other than a Mustang in the final chase scenes. It would piss everybody off

  • @Mechknight73 true. but then again after how shitty Mad Max 3 was ..... think they would appreciate anything. lol

  • FUCK YOUTUBE AND THEIR FUCKING HALF ASSED LOADING.

  • This is supercool!!! I am looking for more original footage!!

  • @magnaklaas You can still buy the orginial Australian versions of all the movies on DVD. Unsure about NTSC version, but I know that there are lots of retailers that can source it for you

  • when do we go for a ride!!!

  • On ya barry!

  • "Vreee! VRRREEEEEEE!!!!" 0:38

  • I love the sound at 0:12...

  • Ah, romance! not just hear a a growl, but a genuine whistle from a Shrrock supercharger. (I spelled that wrong but does it matter with a keyboard, pint and a takeaway in a battle for a laugh?)

  • to shut down a ford v8 under the hood pull the positive wire off the coil, shuts down the whole thing.

  • i love that sound........for a fake blower :P

  • ok, this movie kicks ass, but how the fuck did he shut the car off under the hood?

  • I can't remember the name of it, but there's an arm that connects to the carburetor that controls the input of gas and if you pull it in the other direction it stops the flow of gas, thus shutting off the car. I used to do that on my old Nova.

  • the greatest movie car of all time, she sucks nitro!

  • Shame what happens to that car

  • The best part of the movie..my fav movie

  • Its not too hard to see this amazing machine from the point of view when the movie was made in 1979...in the future, which the movie depicts, twin overhead cams and an on/off blower are very possible...600hp through the wheels, simply awsome!!

  • My favorite part of the movie, right here.

  • I love it when the mechanic said phase 4 heads! thats really got my attention! Phase4 heads if you dont know are very rare xa gtho phase4! 4 cars where ever made with special valves, ports and chambers .the only down side is the cars wernt that quick off the mark, but had massive top speeds

  • love it when that guy kept saying she's the last of the v8s. guess that means that in the future there wont be no v8 cop cars lol

  • twin overhead cam nitrous injection. fuckin love this movie

  • mmmmmm booooost

  • Notice the yellow bucket stuffid under engine? this was hiding the electric motor which ran the simulated blower awesome movie i wish i could get a copy of this original Aus soundtrack instead of dubbed Usa version we get here..

  • Twin over head cams hey? ha ha, still awesome thou.

  • Love his face when he says "600 horsepower at the wheels" LOL!

  • This has been my favorite movie for years!!

My Cousin owns an XB 429 the same model.

  • AWW Thank you! I hate what they've done to the movie with the overdubbed voices. The Original Aussie Version Is the Best!!!

  • Ill say it is!!

  • The overdubbing happened because some idiot American(not saying that all Americans are idiots) decided that Australians are too hard to understand.

  • What? :-l

  • i always wondered why...

    I can undestand both dubbings.

  • @Jhiaxhus your right. He was an idiot. As an American, myself and most Americans like Australian acents. Hell, it was the Australian acents that made Mad Max unique, different and even scary.

  • @Jhiaxhus that really sucks,i can't find the original version on dvd anywhere. The Aussie version is the only way to watch this movie!!

  • wicked!

  • My favourite movie of all time, I used to play this scene over and over again, loved that blower whine!

  • that's bad ass!!!
