I think the focus of this video is about people who can't take care of themselves physically, and mentally and emotionally they are weak or have debilitating conditions. People that stronger people can easily take advantage of.

Jamie ,Michael,Kimberly, Agnes Aman, and their children,for the most part, have been willing to let their father to be evicted, from their nursing home. I have notified the state of NJ,that my father is a citizen of Quebec,and Canada, and have filed a protest on his behalf.. The State of NJ,so far,has been very cooperative.

Elders can be so harsh. But hey! We have a lot more things to be thankful for with the elders. When people grow old, they tend to be irritable. They become helpless too so we have to understand that we too are going that way. Patience, an enormous deal of it, is very much needed. Thanks for this video as this will remind us to exert more of that needed patience.

i disagree, old people now a days are abusing "never hit an old person" which tolerates them to bully, act violent and treat younger bigger and stronger adults like crap. Yes, i think it is o.k to hit an old person espiecially in self defense. Abuse is abuse, people. Anybody can be a victim.

No one is suggesting that the elderly cannot be abusers, themselves.

No one is suggesting that they should not be penalized if they've committed crimes.

No one is suggesting we ignore other types of abuse because of elder abuse.

No one is suggesting that elder abuse is the worst type or that the elderly are a superior group of people.

One more thing is anybody can be either an abuser or the victim of abuse. The video does not particularly imply that elders are just the ones being abused. They can be an abuser too, even a child, teenager, adult or impaired people can be abusers. If we include all those things in this video, it will be too broad, too general and too long to watch.

come on, you don't hear much storys about a little 12 year olds or 5 year olds beating up on adults do you? and even if a small child did some how kill some one, the police wouldn't be allowed to throw the kid in jail.

Things should not be abused as well such as alcoholic beverage,drugs, vices, smoking.

Even animals should not be abused.

People, the bottom line is abuse is never right. It does not matter if it is a person, thing or any living thing.

I think this video is just featuring one aspect of who is abused. It does not mean the other kinds of abuse are wrong or less important than this one.

The data cited at 7:48 is potentially very misleading. It says of elder-abuse reports, 236,000 cases were at home while only 50,000 were in nursing homes. The speaker then says this debunks the myth that nursing homes are a problem.

However, of Americans 75+, only 7 - 10% lived in nursing homes since 1990 (USA Today). Yet 21% of abuse reports come from nursing homes. So my cursory effort to get less selective data suggests that being in a nursing home increases the risk of being abused.

Check out Judy Jenkins caught on tape. She steals a cross and chain from her mothers dying neck. She also took $85,000 and her house and property. The judge said it was a civil matter and dropped all charges.
