  • But i hope not

  • I think the couger killed matace

  • at 5:52 it suddenly becomes summer!!

  • Please don't let her be hurt!

  • Don't you see what you are all doing? (in the comments below) You're comparing yourselves as "nerds and geeks , and jocks" to these majestic animals, when in fact , nothing can compare to them. We are humans , and while we should learn from wolves , we aren't them. They are graceful , beautiful , majestic(as mentioned before) beast. We are nothing like them, though we should be. @regas13 and @TreehouseOnMars . And arguing or debating with each other , only proves my point.

  • "nerds and geeks are the alpha's due to the fact that they will be superior than the stupid jock like people" Good point. As Zeus said once when he was trying to get laid "If force doesn't work, I'll try deception"

  • Goodall observed an omega work his way up to alpha status by technical trickery. It had discovered that blows with a hand held metal bucket where beyond the alpha's physical or mental abilities to cope with. The problem us “Col Winchester made all men equal,” On that new playing field, brains give a slight edge..

  • I want to live with wolves when I am older!

  • So nerds and geeks are omegas. Thanx. Human social hierarchies now make much more sense.

  • @TreehouseOnMars Actually you're wrong nerds and geeks are the alpha's due to the fact that they will be superior than the stupid jock like people because yea, darwin's saying of that it is survival of the strongest was probably directed to strongest in brain power instead of muscular build because someone with the knowledge of how to build something or kill something to survive is going to win because it knows what to do instead of dying because it doesn't know what to do. :)

  • @regas13 Humans may be incredibly complex, but the bottom of our brains is wired to see the “bright eyed and bushy tailed”, the “blonde beast” as alphas. Granted, brains can manipulate the signals to the point where a limp wristed fairy like Hitler can pass himself off as ubermensch (No offense to my fellow limp wristed fairies intended ;) )

  • @regas13 The next 3 comments meant 4 u.

    This one isn't.

Eurasian wolves have been at war with humans since before we were human. American wolves are just another tribe of natives by comparison.

  • The varg (wolves) can teach us humans so much that we dont see ourselves. Even in her blindness, Makooe could still see more than us humans

  • WOLVES!!! I LOOOOOVE WOLVES!! I wish I could go up there and hug them!!! ♥♥♥snugglies♥♥♥

  • I wont decry the importance of his work but he makes me so mad! He got relocated the two adult wolves just because they did not fit in with the way he wanted to interact with the pack. Talk about used and abused. I mean you take two wolves away from their homes to use in his project get what he wants from them and then up roots them again from their new family and casts them aside. You cant learn anything from wolves if you control their social development like that.

  • @kevinthelast 100% Agreed

  • I love the wolves....AMIGHTY your nature is so beautiful

  • that place is in the rocky mountains?

  • I Want To Become A Veterinarian So Maybe One Day I Will Be Able To Work With Wolfs!!!

  • I bet its fucking freezing there.

  • Hi i write from north Italy and i said that the Wolves are unique species on the Earth, because they stay in and on the Nature(the Forests, woods); wanderfull because our God create them and all we. Peace

  • poor wolf. Thank goodness they could help her :)

  • that suks for him

  • i hope she didnt die!!!!!

  • Society today isn't as good as it was a few thousand years ago. I'd much rather be in a wolf-pack structure than the one we have today

  • i wish i had that job...i would blaze that shit everyday and enjoy life with the wolves!!!

  • thats wonderful that she got her eyesight back!!! god was with her!

  • @hunterjumper9799

You mean the vet was with her?

  • I'm not sure about his method on this... It's like he is teaching them how to scavenge, not hunt.

  • One can not humanize a wolf and also teach them to hunt. The only way to bond with a wolf is to feed them. If he had not done that, he never would have gotten as close as he did, or get the information he did. As "unnatural" has his methods, he is to be commended for his choice to humanize this pack.

  • @AcaiBunch

It makes me wonder if we can humanize wolves without having them end up looking like dogs.

  • FXMisc ~ Wolves will always be wolves. The only way to get a dog is to breed the adrenaline out. And that means breeding only the Omegas of the pack. The higher the adrenaline the stronger their instincts and that is what is needed for pack longevity. I believe that is why only the Alpha, and sometimes the Beta pair, breed.

They did it with Silver Foxes in the 50's and ended up with dog like foxes instead of wild foxes. All they did was breed out the adrenaline.

  • @AcaiBunch That's neat. If we did make them more social to humans I worry that they would be less feared among dogs and possibly start breeding with them and/or be sought to be less aggressive- then humans may breed wolves like they did with the foxes. As much as I love wolves, if we kept them wild there'd be less of a chance that bad things will happen to their classic design. I do not mean though that people like this dude, researchers, and other wolf keepers have done anything wrong though.

  • It is legal to breed wolves. At least in the state I live in. If you have a license you can breed wolves and you do not need one to own them. Hybrids are very popular, and they are the best of both worlds. We have a hybrid.

Canines in general should not be allowed to breed at random. Since Wolves are not wild anymore, there is no other way to introduce them but by capturing and bringing them in.

  • @AcaiBunch

I don't mind that they capture and release, as noted by you: As long as they don't breed out traits they will stay as they are. But as I said if we kept them wild there'd be less of a chance that bad things will happen to their classic design. Hybrids make we worry that there will be more than that black variation to wolves soon if hybrids were just released into the wild as some pet owners do when they can't afford food or other reasons.

  • It is illegal to release any canine "into the wild". Most hybrids end up going to rescues or are eutnanized.

Hybrids are the very best of both worlds, in fact, I heard that German Shepherds were dogs back bread to wolves to create the breed. That's why they are so close to Wolves.

The thing with wolves, they were created to want to be with others. Even if that means humans. They were created to be human companions. It's OK if people work and live along side wolves.

  • @AcaiBunch

But don't you think that the classic design of the wolf will become rarer as they mate with released hybrids? It isn't wrong to own one, but that doesn't make you think about it? There's already a black variation in the wild-- it would make me sad if they started getting shorter legs, started gaining a German Shepherd fur variation or got curled tails.

  • What released hybrids. It is illegal to release a dog into the wild.

The black "variation" as you call it, is nothing more than a Russian Wolf. Wolves come in all colors and variations, that's where today's dogs get their coloring.

Every characteristic in dogs comes from the Wolf. Each genetic mutation, short legs, short snout, no hair, etc., comes from a loss of information.

Dogs come from wolves, but wolves are not dogs.

  • @AcaiBunch

Black wolf fur is genetically linked to dogs that found it's way into the wolves' gene pool. There are variations in fur tints but is generally the same shade and has a specific style for true wild wolves. Just because it is illegal to release a dog into the wild, it doesn't mean people don't do it. Just like how dog fights still happen today. Genetic mutation doesn't just come from information loss, but information gain. As what would happen if hybrids make offspring with wilds.

  • Well, I don't really want to get into it, but genetic mutations are losses in genetic material. It's science.

I realize that a fox is not a wolf, but they are from the same family. A study was done, many years ago, and they created "dogs" from foxes by breeding OUT the adrenaline. That's a loss in genetic material. Their coats changed, their attitude changed, their aggressiveness lessened, their ears flopped, tail curled.., That's how we go from wolf to dog. Adrenaline is bred out.

  • @AcaiBunch

I understand science, I got an A in my biology class.

But your not taking in the other thing I am saying.

I'm saying that if people release wolf hybrids, or if wolf hybrids go loose, they will change the original design of wild wolves. I'm not saying this will happen soon, but it would be sad when it does.

  • That's great! I hated biology class.

I don't think that wolves breeding with wolf hybrids would be as bad as wolves breeding with other types of dogs. ICK! We have a neighborhood full of unneutered dogs, of all types. If there were wild wolves in the area, they'd be interbreeding constantly.

And there are many more other types of dogs than wolf hybrids. In fact, wolf hybrid owners are way more careful about their fencing and care of their animals than other canine owners are.

  • I talked to my friend about hybrids. We came to the conclusion that if interbreeding was starting to happen often to wild wolves then there would be a stricter law enforcing ways to avoid this.

So I'm not worried anymore. Hur hur hur hur hur....

  • Wild wolves generally stay away from human populations, and feral dogs tend to hang around where humans are. So the chances of them breeding is pretty rare.

I guess that's the one big difference between wolves and dogs.

  • every dog came from the wolf

  • That is very true. Two canines on the Ark started it all. ;-)

  • It is a common thing with dogs and wolfs that their eyes get like foggy with age, it could be herritage or just bad luck. It still was a very skillfull doctor who fixed her eyes!

  • I think it was from cataracts...I have to double check on that one.

  • Yes, he explains it in more detail in his book. She had cataracts.

  • I am so glad for makooe that she can see again. I LOVE WOLVES...they are the most sensible animals in the world.

No other Animal is so good natured and SOCIAL. We humans can learn so much from Wolves..... Humanity is stearing to a soulless consumer dominated society...we are evolving towards brain and heartless robots!!! Sad sad sad !!!

We must save NAture ...so we will NEVER forget were we came from.... Living natural means being human and learning from our MOTHER NATURE and its wonders

  • @NaturalBornHedonist I think you will like Charlie Chaplin's speech in the great dictator

  • 5:41 omg that has to be by far the most beautiful wolf I´ve ever seen! O_O

  • Poor Mataki. She got eaten by a cougar...

  • It's very sad about the omega Mataki. On the other hand Mataki falling prey to the cougar is just nature taking its course. Mother Nature can be a cruel beast sometimes but she always gets her way. As an impartial viewer one wants to intervene but to do so would (in a small way) throw things out of balance.

Just like the baby elephant in 'Planet Earth' who gets turned around in the dust storm at the end of a 400 mile journey in search of water and gets lost, destined to die of thirst.

  • this documentary is wonderful! Thanks so much for capturing it! Aren't the wolves gorgeous?

  • mwhahaha! this movie has everything: adventure, suspense, love and horror XD

  • can you pretty please upload wolves at our door i love it but havent seen it in about 4 years

  • @pawneewolf good story telling.

  • awesome let me kno when u post more ^^ ... damn now i have 2 wait 2 find out wut happens 2 mataki lol
