  • nice work ! o got an oven working on solar can here, i'll give it a try keep up the good work

  • The amount of energy (heat) lost by the streling makes this a bad option - the size of the mirror needed to make up for the heat lost by this type engine is cost restrictive.

Better to use the mirror to make steam that drives a conventional turbine generator - BUT turbines are not cost efficient unless you are producing huge amounts of power.

What I think EVERYONE (except government and energy companies) wants is an onsite, low cost way to produce enough to run a home.

  • nice clock ! :D

  • amaizing!

  • PARA QUE SIRVE????? ME PODRIAS DECIR?

  • generar energia, obviamente, una alternativa a las carisimas placas fotovoltaicas...

  • Si sirve.

  • I love this engine! Rube G would be proud and so should you.

    Peace

    Gill

  • This is a Stirling engine not a Sterling engine!

  • @caloric16 Both spellings are correct : )

  • I've had good luck with adding a fresnel lense to intensify the beam. Use a linear one, not spot.

  • You could use a gear to speed it up and then another to increase the power so you could draw like million trillion gigawatt out of this - vivat free power!

  • wonderfully built! I like the job you did its a solar oven with a sterling engine! I built a solar oven its on my video list reaches over 300f. congrats. maybe cook a steak in there while its cranking LOL...

  • Put some mirrows on that Puppy aND CRANK HER UP.

  • Nice machine. Can it be used as a pump to irrigate plants in a garden?

I would like to build one. Maybe you give some help?

    Thank you anyway.

  • This machine hardly had enough power to run itself, as it was only ment to be a model.

However, there are a number of machines designed to pump water that you can find here on youtube. You might try "Sterling water pump" and see what results you get.

I am currently working on a different design than what I have displayed.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • "Sterling engine" seems to get the best results for finding a water pump

  • truely awesome - looks like you could use some gears to up the speed or up the tork whatever your need, may I suggest making a coffee can forge and melting down some aluminum cans.. then make your own mold a special 500 or 1000 peek grear and a nice 5 peek star gear along side and have a input output ratio of 5:500 or 5:1000 which is awesome for speed!

  • friggin piece of art!!!

  • I'm with you partner. Art all the way. I just wish he would put some mirrows or a fresnel lens on it and crank that bad Boy up to about 2 or 3 hundred RPMs and some power to spair.

  • Excellent - keep up the good work

  • non désolé. mon ami l'a construit de son esprit. il a exploré les exigences alors construites, mais répondra à n'importe quelle question que vous avez.

  • Bravo, est-ce possible de répliquer ? avez-vous un schéma de construction ?

    Merci

  • great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's really nice stirling. What have you used as a coolant? Good luck in further construtions :)

  • The round white container has water in it at about 70 degrees F. cooling the lower part, and the upper part is at about 120 F heated by the sun. The upper collector area is about 130 square inches.

  • this one looks quite unique

  • Thanks from my friend. it's purpose is testing different types and materials on the way to a bigger one to generate electricity.
