used her magnificent voice and musi-

cal artistry as the key to unlock its

what a voice , what a temperament ..a voice of rare beauty and expression ..the only Russian soprano of whom i loved so much the voice and wished many times to be a mezzo and not a soprano...old stories these , i know it, but ... ..i do also have old recordings with Obukhova and through her voice revives a whole lost era ...

Thank you for posting this. What a great talent, she deserves to be better known.

Maybe 30 years ago I heard a recording of a concert she gave in her 70's - her voice was incredibly beautiful and her technique was still solid. Thanks again for posting.
