  • This is one of the worst demo's I have ever heard. Compared to the other demo's of this amp, it almost apears as though this player is purposly trying to get a crappy sound. He plays parts that don't match up to the tone he is playing through. The Van Halen riffs are completely off, tone wise. Sounds like the player doesn't even know the difference between the nech and bridge pickup. The "Whole Lotta Love" part was making me laugh out loud. Are you kidding?

  • this vid does this amp no justice what so ever. go try one out. the stock speaker is kinda crappy. Settings also matter. A vintage marshall doesn't have the same tone stack as a modern so you just can't leave all the controls to 12 and change the models. crank the bass on a vintage will make the sound muddy.

  • @skaterguitar4ever no i don´t think it´s digital shit...

i own this amp for more than half a year now and i think it´s great.it sound´s good and you can store and create much more sounds as with a standart tube amp.of course it doesn´t sound like a jvm or jcm but it sound in its own kind of way.it´s just a completely different kind of amp!

by the way, have you ever played this thing or have you just heard it in videos...

  • I'd say that the thing to do is to try it out for yourself before you let a video decide for you. I have a Zoom g9 with a couple of "Marshall" presets on it and I agree it IS very hard to get a REAL Marshall tone digitally, because they do have their own unique sound, not even Blackstar could capture it and they were a couple of guys that worked for the company.

  • @skaterguitar4ever I agree... I have a jvm410 and the tone is superior... live tube live

  • @skaterguitar4ever it's tube powered, just digital selection and stuff

  • The concept is GREAT....And it WORKS in the 1/2 or FULL stack versions, but I can't say as I'm terribly impressed in the 1x12 combo....

I'll take my old '76 JCM 800 1x12 combo ANYDAY over this...

  • @boagley1 They didn't make JCM 800's in 1976.

JCM 800's were introduced in 1981.

  • @xxStratxx69 Thanks for the info! I did NOT know that! I bought it back in '86, and the guy told me it was about 10 yrs old, so I just ASSumed! lol Either way, I'd never part with it!

    Thanks again...

  • voi helvetti!

  • sounds digital, not my cup of tea

I mean really who is fooled into thinking this sounds remotely like a full tube Marshall?

  • @weaselpopper Have you ever tried one?I own amps from jtm45's to dumbles clones to cornford's and trust me in the flesh this amp in a good bit of kit.It sound very valve like ,no other modeler amp sounds like this!. With a a-b box into this amp 50watt and into a jcm 900 50 watt both amps with their own greenback loaded 4x12 marshall cabs this amp cuts the mustard.

  • Glad I bought the Peavey vypyr 60 over this thing and saved a ton of money

  • ive never really been a fan of digital amps. but i tired this out in a shop and it is definatly not "digital shit". Most people base this amp by the digital stuff in it and just by the fact that its a digital amp. the distortion on this thing isnt the best so i now use a pedal for the distortion but this amp definatly isnt weak. you can get it in 100watts or 50watts either way its really loud. its ½valve ½tube with digital effects. its a good amp and most certainly is not "digital shit".

  • Doesn't sound like its worth the money. To fuzzy and the tone just doesn't stand out.

  • i think that Marshall goes wrong with this amp, because they made this amp to compete with the cheapest market of amp in the world. and their are loosing credibility.

  • @blackskullbass, It's BOTH. That's what makes it so damn awesome. All digital preamp, but the rest is tube.

  • I like the sound of these amps, but the question for me is when it breaks down what is it going to take to fix it. I was told by a guy ythat the digital amps when they break down, they are pretty much done.

  • @myway43 BUT digital amps don't break down that easily ;) And you know how much a tube change costs

  • yes it is....

  • Is this a tube amp???

  • Digital Marshall amp model front end and EL34 valve power amp section like a normal Marshall valve amp. Bit of both I'd say.

  • sounds cool
