Barnett has creative methods of tripping opponents, using their own leverage against them. But I don't think Barnett can take the knee shots. Age is also going to be a factor. Reem is a good 4 years younger. I'd lve to see BArnett vs Werdum or Mir. Catch wrestling vs BJJ, classic match up.

Cormier did knock Silva out like is was nothing. Silva is a very good striker. Josh will be forced to either use his stand up or be on his back. (where ever Cormier decides it to be)

Barnett is the most complete fighter in MMA right now - his speed and blocking in the early standup was something you don't see much in MMA, his fitness was great, wrestling and grappling obviously top class. And he wins (and loses) like a real champion - always full of respect. I hope he wins the final and then challenges Dana to give him any UFC fighter to take on. Barnett vs Cain or Dos Santos would be awesome, and would shut up UFC fans at least till a few new UFC guys turn up.

Sure he may have submitted some fighters, that was when he was much lighter. The added weight slows him down. Right now, JDS is the fighter to beat. I don't see any HW over 31 able to beat JDS. This is a sport where youth is a big advantage.

In other words take the Olympic word out of it - plenty of Olympic athletes have been smashed in MMA. Royce and Rickson Gracie have beaten collegiate wrestlers and Olympic Judo caliber players. Josh was a, world class top 5 HW, veteran by the time Cormier decided to become an MMA athlete.
