Usually when I read comments on Queen videos I see people saying that Freddie Mercury has the best sing voice ever, or atleast one of the best. When other people sing Queen songs people usually say that they aren't as good as Mercury. I have so far nor seen a comment like that on this video :)
Inigualable la original con Freddie Mercury .Pero siento que las interpretaciones a duo con mujeres han sido la busqueda, o una imitación, del duo con Annie Lennox en el Tributo a Queen

@anorak52 David Bowie is among the most Satanic, immoral men of our day. He encourages young people to be gay or bisexual and makes it seem not only okay, but GOOD. In the 70s he wore glitter and acted like a whore. He dressed up as a FAG and his wife and he had an "open" marriage. So basically he slept around with other EVIL GLAM FAGGOTS! Don't support this man who brainwashes our kids into thinking faggots are okay or even GOOD
@MisterBrainiac obviously you do not understand your religion or satanism. Neither do you understand homosexuality. The only thing you do apparently understand is ignorance.
she showcases her glorious voice, while freddie was commanding the song, laying/sticking to the groundwork in the minimalist opus that builds to crescendo (of passion/ideas.) i think this version is enjoyable being more melodic (& why redo orig exactly same way, right?), while the orig interprets a hint of volatile gas kit or something lol
I'm only 22 years old which means most of the great music was already made before I was born in '88. I love Queen and Freddie, but I think Gail Ann Dorsey blows him out of the water on this song. Playing bass and singing. Now that's some awesomeness.
I just watched David sing this song with Annie Lennox and I can not tell you how bad that was if you compare it to this. Actually, I don't even have to compare it, it was straight up bad, IMO
The original version of this with Queen was great, but I've grown to prefer this version. David still sounds great, if not improved over the years, and Gail has such a strong voice and absolutely knocks this song out of the park.
@StumptownBoy I love Gail! She has the power and talent that you would find in a (what I call) "Motown Diva" but she has a certain masculinity in her voice that lets you know that she's not Aretha or Diana, she's motherfucking Gail Ann Dorsey and she ain't taking your shit.
....and Love DARES you to care for the people on the edge of the night....and to change the way of caring about ourselves....this is our last dance, this is our selves under pressure......WOWOWOW

Wow!! Gail was absolutely outstanding!!! As was Bowie! Bowie's voice never gets old. And he's aged SO gracefully! I truly wish I look that good when I get older. lol
I'm thankful my wife and I were at this concert - Dublin - November 2003 - Great music, great band, great song, great song, and David B.? a beautiful smile to match his voice - the envy of singers/performers everywhere ...
prezesstargard, she can sing it well cos women can get higher. Freddie is not remembered for being death. anyway, you won't be remebered even for being dead as you say freddie is
it's the tenth time today i'm listening to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just great, now we can hear the story cause when performed by this two the storyline is clear, not overwhelmed by the show presesented by queen. Now i can just focus on perfect vocal and lyrics without all this show Mercury used to do.
yep you are correct on that fact. But yes she does do a amazing work with her vocals..."takes me higher" ...still enjoy listening to this version daily.
Gail Ann is it i was lookn for the name i have the dvd n all n u can shouv ur original recording up ur arse she makes this song this is way better than the original 200% better
Now THAT is how its done!! Gail craps all over Lennox!! (juvenile I know but so true). I really felt like I was there in the crowd and couldn't help getting into it. Just fab!!
Meh. I think comparing all these folks is inane. Annie is a very different person, her recording is great, gives me chills. Gail Ann -- First time I heard this I was floored at the awesomeness. Both are great in their own respects, both very different women, both are awesome. This is one of the greatest songs of the modern rock era, and whether Freddie, Annie, or Gail, each adds his or her own unique and stellar touch to it.
This is one of the best videos I have ever heard! God how awesome she is and David too! What a true blessing to hear! And see! Rockin right through the roof! Bravo!
It's a terror of knowing what this world is about, watching a good friend scream:"LET ME OUT"..........There are many great singer/songwriters/classic rock artists but.......if there were ever a song that was created to rock the nation and bring unity, it is this one......
After Freddie Mercury died, Bowie has performed this song at virtually every one of his live shows as a tribute to him, with Gail Ann Dorsey taking Mercury's vocal part. He could not have chosen a more refined and talented female vocalist/bass guitarist to perform this with him. The lyrics of this song sends out such a powerful message about love and life and she and Bowie together just bring it on home! Sends chills ...brrrrrrrrr.....
Right there with ya. I'm sure Freddie is proud. The only thing I can add is that the videography was grand also. I.e. 2:35. It brings a tear to my eye.
@tinydancer05 Thanks for the history, I totally LOVE this song, and agree ....get chills every time I hear it! lol......and her voice is unbelievable....and what isn't there to appreciate about Bowie? such an artist!!

Very true. But one of the things that I believe made this song amazing was Deacon's smoothness that Dorsey does not have. However, at least it is still being performed every now and then.
Not sure that simply having excellent range means that she "blows Freddie out of the water". Perhaps technically, but she doesn't hold a candle to the emotion, raw feeling that Freddie put into this song. Plus he co-authored the song in the first place, didn't he? I think that counts for something, too.
Gail (the woman singing) is the nicest woman- willing to stop and talk and sign autographs at concerts. She blows Freddie out of the water in singing this song. The high note she hits near the middle (about 2:22 point) is amazing, shows off her range beautifully.
You know, dearladyfae, Freddie's range was just as good, if not better when he actually wrote the song. In case you weren't aware, Freddie suffered voice problems in the years after he wrote that song, and before he died, which explains why he wasn't able to hit that high note when he performed it live.

At least future generations will know how unbelievable Freddy was (unless there's a purge coming, like the burning of the Library of Alexandria).
