  • Ahhh this was the piece I was lookin for :) played by beethoven house at my school. Just forgot the name, but i love this piece to bits!! Great job :D

  • Love this. Took forever to find out what is was called...

  • feel like flying!

  • Haha, some of you fell for @fatman93186's troll pretty hard...

  • @ifutureman I kinda do, lol. I actually looked up this video BECAUSE I heard it on that ancestry.com commercial and was trying to figure out if I'd heard correctly. These 4 have amazing musicianship...simply beautiful performance...

  • Who else thinks Ancestry.com sucks for desecrating this masterpiece with the cheesy, simplified rewrite they use in their commercials?

  • I'm totally playing this every time I get ready in the morning.

  • POP DEM STRINGS

  • This is the rock and roll american version. USA USA USA!

  • This is now one of my 9 year old's favorites to listen to, and it was all started by that movie The Royal Tenenbaums. It's sad that you have to watch a movie to discover new musical pieces that have been around for 100 years or more......

  • This piece is seriously stunning, and their execution is top notch. Bravo!

  • @fatman93186 This music has endured for about a century as one of the standout String Quartets of the 20th century, Justin Bieber will be lucky to be remembered in 5 years...

  • @andrew93hughes shut the fuck up about justin bieber and enjow the fucking art!!!

  • @tatertots725 I was...

  • The one thing wrong with this video is the last 2 seconds. This movement demands applause! Clap!

  • The cellist is the husband of my cousin

  • @tatasaccount Wolfram is my coach now! :)

  • Hard to believe that this piece was roundly criticized at the time and was thought to be "lacking academically" by the old guard at the Paris Conservatoire. After losing the grand prize in an obviously rigged competition in 1905, he left the Conservatoire. Ravel had a hard time with critics throughout his early years, but obviously lived to see them eat their words--gotta love that. Although Debussey was about 12 years older than Ravel, they became great friends, often playing concerts together

  • @Bix12 This piece is so beautiful. It's a shame that most of the time critics go with their heads instead of their hearts because I think anyone with a heart will agree this piece is great! Also, I love both Debussy and Ravel...I love that you're up on your music history...I really wish I knew more!

  • the cellist needs a haircut. But good music

  • This is some gorgeous music...absolutely breathtaking. And if you like this, listen to Debussy's String Quartet in G minor-Opus10. Ravel & Debussy are my 2 favorite composers...although there are others I really love, too...but for consistency of excellence, Debussy & Ravel cannot be beat.

  • @Bix12 Ravel is my favorite French composer. Debussy is of course not far behind. This is my favorite quartet, and I prefer it over any of the quartets by the romanticists or classicists.

  • Violists will rule the world :D amazing<3

  • check out the cello pizzicato on 00.35.

  • Gosh, I love the pizzicato!

  • i am sooo in love with this piece.. and wonderful performance by the american string quartet ! bravo !

  • kinsella. you are a music person, clearly.. plus its never too late, you too could write something beautiful

  • This is beautiful. It really touches your heart

  • im playing this in marching band

  • theme song for royal tenenbaums!

  • The violin/viola soli at 00:18 is my favorite part of the entire quartet.

  • ahhh my favourite movement ;o;

music like this makes me regret not becoming a music person...
