Since I ran out of room, here's my answer to the question: I'd have a thick, plated hide for physical protection. The ability to filter out everything from the air and water but the stuff my body needs. Night vision and some kind of membrane to protect my eyes from environmental pollutants. Massive strength, though I'd want to keep my manual dexterity (so opposable thumbs and everything). Finally, a strong stomach, so I don't have to be picky about my food. I think that about covers it.

Two things: 1) I believe folks are correct about holding the smoke in and that this is harmful due to the carcinogens present in the smoke. Vaporized smoke does not have these carcinogens, however, and they are healthier! 2) I've read quite a few articles stating that heavy early teen smoking in kids who have a propensity for psychosis can trigger this in them as adults.
