excuse my previous comment, i see pattern for using fingers to do 8 x 6 through 10: look at palms of your hands.

when doing 8x6, put down the pinky on both hands count the numbers to the left of the "6th" finger that are up and that is the 10ths place number, the 1's place number is whatever is to the right of the 6th finger multiplied by 2. so

x x x x y y x x x x

4 is 10s 2 * 4 is 8  48

for 7 put down ring finger on both hands and do the same thing
