  • If they don't want to have wine that's their business. Idk many churches that still use wine for communion anyway

  • I love the Duggars but Anna's dad doesn't make sense. I think he's misunderstood. While the wife IS supposed to submit to the husband like the church to Jesus, He's also supposed to make choices that will be best for her and keep her safe and happy (she can give her two cents so he knows what makes her happy) love her like Jesus loves the church, and be willing to die for her. People tend to leave that part out and think the wife is property and she should just shut up and listen to her husband.

  • the bates are like ninjas

  • jeeze, just roll down the window and have someone crawl inside

  • love marks... or hickeys?

  • Her authority? Are you effin kidding me? Is she a friggin slave? A marriage should be equal. I'd be damned if my husband would be my authority. These people are so brainwashed.

  • If her and Josh waited to see each other instead of seeing her before he wouldn't have stepped on her train. It annoys me that they saw each other before their vows.

  • Why is he seeing her before she walks down the aisle? I would think that wouldn't be allowed either. I can't believe they don't drink at all. Why don't they take pictures after they get married? Why are they doing it before?

  • um, bread and wine?

  • authority? wow.

  • I COULD NOT live like they do I would actually LOSE my mind!!

  • @mjbjemifan09 I couldn't live that way, either. It's just not natural. It's like being back in the 1800s.

  • lol Bates bros. ;P nice stealth

  • Mr. Keller is not sexist. The bible says that a woman is supposed to submit to her husband, and he is to love her and lay down his life for her. There are people who will take that out of context and use that as an excuse to treat women as second class citizens, but a true man of God wouldn't do that. Mr. Keller seems to be a great father and that he provided for and protected his daughter(s). The biblical model works best and if it is done right, a woman will feel loved and cherished and a man

  • What?? They did pictures before they were married???!!!! Never heard of that. One of the only rules I know that people outside of their religion stick to is .. not seeing the bride in her dress before she comes down the aisle... That's the best part of the wedding! I don't get it.

  • the bates boys etting the rings were like ninjas

  • I REALLY wish people would stop twisting 1 Timothy 2:11-15. (we had a sermon on that yesterday) Paul was writing that to a specific church, not EVERYBODY! (and no I do not agree with the 'no-women-in-places-of-authority' stuff.)

  • @MenollytheBeagle Agreed! That "God designed the transfer of authority, and it's a good design" is just another stupud excuse for men to dominate women. And besides Paul said that, not God.

  • @el7jake Oh, I totally agree. This "authority" bullshit is just a way to keep women down and "serve" these men who have been raised to believe that the sun shines out of their ass. God never said anything about authority, this is totally a man-made invention created for the convenience and pleasure of...guess who? MEN! Why do their women put up with this crap? They are just so brainwashed, makes me sick.

  • Anna's father pisses me the fuck off.

  • the Bates boys getting that ring were so boss haha they were like spies :)

  • @FreeToBeShelby that part makes me laugh

  • Wait which guy is mr Keller

  • Im sorry but I can not stand MR.KELLER!His beliefs bug the crap out of me!I mean its not the baptist thing either people his beliefs dont even make sense!

  • I might disagree with the Duggar family's beliefs but I still find them to be good, kind people. That is enough to earn my respect. There is something slimy about Mr. Keller. I don't like him at all.

  • @Padmepotter4986 i agree there is something about him that just feels wrong not in a judgemental way but idk what it is well also his totally MESSED up views

  • What Mr Keller is saying is effed up, but its even worse that its his own daughter he is talking about!

  • @Duggarfann19 I dunno, he seems very..Into that stuff lol.

  • Incredible what the Bride's dad told, i just can not belive this in the XXI century.... If I was a women I would be outraged to my guts, and those poor little indoctrinated boys... OMG

  • How can you have juice in biblical times? There were no preservatives and no refrigeration. I hate it when people try to twist facts to justify their beliefs. Wine was a safe thing to drink back in Jesus time. Water was not safe. There were many water born diseases that can not survive in alcohol.

  • @shewearsfunnyhat i know. having a drink isn't a sin, getting drunk is. people need to relax and lighten up.

  • you know, people tell me that i'm very conservative because i do kinda adhere to a belief in certain gender roles. HOWEVER, that man, Mr. Keller, just bothers me. He thinks a wedding is like a property exchange, where the property is the woman. And the thing about grape juice and no dancing? Gosh, even the strictest Orthodox Jewish wedding has wine and dancing (albiet gender segregated).

  • @icak9 yea you are totally right, i mean i am somewhat of a feminist, however i am an orthedox jew i am not gonna lie (:)) but at our wedding we have seperate dancing but we have wine and dancing and such i do not know what he thinks a bit of segregated dancing will lead to

  • at 3.00 looked like they were gonna kiss loool, i wonder if they were genuine with not kissing until married lool

  • they got married on my birthday! lol awesome!!!!!

  • their wedding photos looks boring and plain, when i get married i want a really nice background when we take the photos:)

  • Damn, I really don't like Anna's daddy lol. I mean, I'm remaning a virgin till marriage, but my gosh..He's sexist and very creepy!! Ew D:

  • Comment removed

  • Thankfully my father is not as backwards or sexist as Mr. Keller.

  • 6:48 The word you are looking for is "horny".

  • The Victorian era has nothing to do with it. Its what lines up with the Bible! Im a baptist and I agree. Now Im not married but when i do i dont plan to be rude or think of my wife as a "item" She is my wife, we are one but as far as what i believe the man is the leader and the wife and kids follow! Now If i keep God first i will be the right kind of leader! So don't down someone because they have different beliefs!! :)

  • mmmm people ?? The Kellers are BAPTIST, and southern baptists at that. They're probably still shocked that women get to vote. That said, they seem like very nice and generous people. I just wouldn't let them raise my daughter...

  • Comment removed

  • r u shiting me? these ppl are racist agains women..this makes me sick! mr. keller, and jiim bob are creepy!

  • @GaGa4Kate I think the word you mean is 'sexist'. But yeah I pretty much agree with you.

  • @DamianGarcia92 yes sexist! exactly

  • I thought of them as being "secretly sexist" but wow Mr. Keller just came right out and said it.

  • the lips are off from the audio.........

  • Transfer of authority?? The Victorian era ended, just so you know

  • mr. keller is so sexist the way he is saying how josh becomes her "authority", he is so annoying. He also talks like a muppet :p

  • Mr. Keller seems lovely, people shouldn't hate on him so much

  • the instruments are played very badly

  • Erin Bates did a wonderful job in playing in their wedding so beautiful i love it when she plays the piano extraordinary talent.

  • Goodness people! He said ''authority". You're acting like he said she becomes his slave or something. Authority in the proper context just means responsibility.

  • lol @ 2:22, the good thing is that they were able to fix it.

  • this family is so precious, the Lord bless them.

  • Mr. Keller is a sexist red-neck asshole. He probably hates gays and blacks.

  • Here it shows that Christians DO have fun. They tried to make the wedding fun, and they kept their cool even though some things were last minute and some mistakes happened. Plus, the dresses are modest and lovely. I wish more brides would pick out modest dresses. There are several websites you can buy them from, plus when you have the dress altered, it's so easy to add sleeves.

  • seriosly why does joy-anna even think it would be ok to have gum at a wedding? surely her parents would have already told her not to have it..?

  • Ugh...her wedding dress is so ugly. It's like a tshirt, and then a long, full skirt.

  • Authority? It's a good thing I'm not related to that prick because he'd be burried 10 feet under the ground so fast

  • mr kellar is the biggest prick i have ever seen what a doucher

  • @danilol7 shut up Bitch

  • @chicke2 did you hear what he said at 3:20??

dont get me wrong i like the duggars but that guy is just out of it

  • "he becomes her AUTHORITY" sounds like slavery i will say to love and cherish never obey

  • Wow, the way josh and anna look at each other when she first comes out in her dress almost brings me to tears. You can see that they REALLY do love one another :)

  • 1:22 that was not nathan bates , thats his brother lawson . their camera crew is difficult lol

  • Anna is such a beautiful bride, and the bridesmaids are very pretty as well. This is proof that modest can be stylish and beautiful

  • Comment removed

  • Those dresses are beautiful!!!!

  • Josh becomes Anna;s "authority"? what??? that sounds sexist if you ask me...

  • the duggar girls all look so grown up here.

  • Unfortunately for those of you who dislike Mr. Keller, he is correct. You wonder why so many marriages fail today - it's because more people aren't as serious about marriage as this family is. God Bless them!

  • the bates family are so hot! esspicialy the 3 brothers at 1:55

  • who is the idiot with tongue out in a wedding picture of Josh and Anna? How stupid one has to be to do that?

  • Mr.kellar is so annoying and Anna is UGLY because she had UGLY parents and thos dresses r so UGLY they may be modest but SUPER UGLY!!!!!!

  • I think the wagon idea was a great idea for the babies , it was a very simple way to incorporate the very little ones in to the wedding. Regardless of how I feel about the family in general, they seemed to try really hard to include as many of the siblings as possible.

  • "This 'Keller' character." LOL

  • they seem so young and a little TOO eager to just have sex and make babies

  • So, Duggar time went out the door when it comes to get to the Honeymoon. But, when honeymoon is over back to Duggar time. That is funny.

  • Nathan Bates is kinda cute...I love how Josh knows wat they did too the car and how they decorated it and how they locked the ring in and he knew it would be hard for them to get it...Lol

  • Nathan Bates is kinda cute...I love how Josh knows wat they did too the car and how they decorated it and how they locked the ring in and he knew it would be hard for them to get it...Lol

  • the flowers are really pretty but they dont go with the dresses.

  • Josh and Anna are such a cute couple! I love this family!

  • Thanks so much for uploading. :D

  • there need not be any transference of authority since anna is a grown woman. what bullshit. authority? fuck authority! when i got married i had any reference to obedience taken out of my vows.

  • Ill be blunt: Jim Bob and this "Keller" character are straight up unintelligent.

  • I love how he talks aobut his bride, so beautiful, I wish all wives could have husbands so lonving and respectfull like that

  • Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

So Paul says the wife must submit to her husband and reverence him. Unless of course you want to go into the Greek - I can do that, too!

  • @Ivegotjoy74 What most people don't realize (you might but I'm saying it for all the others out there) is that when the bible says a wife must submit to her husband, it is referring not that she has to do everything he says, but rather submit herself to him, in a loving way. it means to give all your love and self to be joined with that other person.

  • Paul reiterates this in Ephesians 5:22 - 25 & 33 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

    (cont)

  • @Ivegotjoy74 it also says that husbands love your wives as Christ loves the church. That is a pretty huge love... and if a husband loves his wife this much he will never make his wife feel under him or less important... secondly.. Christ came to earth as a humble servant.... so i dont think any man should give a woman an order or attempt to tell her what to do.

  • Actually we think for ourselves all the time, and I, for one, am offended by such a comment. The Bible is clear Part of Eve's punishment for eating the tree in the Garden was that she would have to be submissive to her husband (Genesis 3:16) (Continued)

  • Say what you will about the Duggars... but Jana Duggar is gorgeous! Inside and out!

  • the man can't control the women that a little weird to say

  • Ok...god did not "design" wedding reception protocol, anna's dad is a freaaaaaaaaking idiot!

  • Yes they do.

  • This is an archaic patriarchal way of thinking that really isn't supported by the New Testament. Most people don't understand the cultural context of the Bible nor do they get that Jesus and Paul both wanted to elevate the status of women in their day. If we apply everything literally, we will miss the heart of what they were saying.

  • is the girl who plays the piano one of the bates kids?

  • yes its erin bates, she is crazy good at the piano

  • Yes she is - She plays so beautifully doesn't she?

  • 3:15 WTF He becomes her authority, what is she a child not able to make her own choices? It sounds like she is a piece of proporty, but I guess that is how it use to be. Makes me laugh when people say marriage has never changed. I hope her husband treats her with respect then her father. I'm sure he loves his daughter very much, but his attiude is that he still has authority over her like a child, sir shes an adult if she is getting married, treat her like one.

  • This pastor has a few views with which I totally disagree based on scripture. This is one of them. To each his own. But to present this as the ONLY interpretation of scripture isn't right and is misleading.

  • yes I agree I know allot of christains and they are all good people that treat every one with respect and I don't believe this is the typical christian view these days. But the idea of marring for love is no older then 300 years old, before then it was like this, but still people of faith say marriage has never changed. how little they know about the history of there own faith.

but like I said the vast majority of Christians are good, decent people that treat others with respect.

  • I agree that Christians should research their faith more and actually think for themselves. :o)

I also agree that most Christians are loving people trying to follow Jesus' ways the best they know how. :o)

  • i love joseph <3

and i have to say joy looked so beautiful purple is definitaly her color

  • @booteeny24 so does his wife. those glasses!

  • This family is sooo weird! and b4 ppl start basing me as to why i watch these episodes, i watch them b/c i find them utterly morbid :)

  • What does Josh Duggar does for a living?

  • @ishapr He has a used car lot

  • he sells used cars....

  • @ishapr Used car lot. He doesnt plan on college.

  • "Josh becomes the authority" what the hell.

  • I can't stand Mr. Keller.

  • @asta2106 : yup Mr. Keller is way over the top... compared to him Jim Bob seems ok

  • @asta2106 shut up Jackass I so want to kill u

  • @chicke2

So much for loving thy neighbor as yourselves. Just saying.

  • @asta2106 he's the most awkward person ever.

  • Anna's hair looks nice without it being all greasy-looking and scrunched and destroyed and with hairspray...

  • @x0katz

i know! i notice that every time i see her

  • I love the bridesmaid's dresses, and Anna's dress, they are so beautiful!

  • Interesting how all the comments are criticizing a husband having authority, but then talking about cultures in which a wife has the authority, and saying it's okay. Hypocritical, much?

  • These people do all the opposite than other churches do. Usually the pictures are taken after the wedding ceremony is over. It is consider back luck to see the bride in her dress before the ceremony takes place.

  • we do half the pictures be4 and then after we do the pics with the bride and groom !!!!

  • My wife and I took our photos before the wedding. This is a common practice now days. The photographer was able to have my in a balcony alone and able to get a shot of the first time I got to see her. This made it more intimate.

  • Hey Bitch

Grooms can see the bride if he wants to it can go ethier way so Shut up

    Jackass

  • Hey Bitch

The groom can decide if he wants to see the bride before the cermony takes place.

I want u to be removed from youtube

    ASAP Jackass

  • Hey Bitch

People can decide to have there pictures taken before if they want to

    So shut up

  • Jill reminds me of JAN from the Brady Bunch idk LMFAOOO

  • that was some macgyver shit with getting the ring out

  • nice turtleneck wedding dress

  • I didn't like the "authority" statement. Marriage isn't about authority--both should be equals.

  • But that still does not define equality if the woman must follow the man. Equality would mean she too has the authority of the household as he. But she does not--therefore she is NOT his equal.

  • It is her choice to follow God and place herself under her husbands authority. She has done that, she doesn't have a problem with that. It is actually something she chose to do.

  • She chose to do that because she was brought up to believe it was the right thing to do.

And the basis on this discussion was to debate on whether this marriage has equality--not if it was her choice to follow god's path or not.

  • Well i guess your real argument is with the bible and God, because what she is doing is biblical.

Col 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

    God Bless

  • Yes, it is biblical. It's just not something I believe. But oh well, she can do what she pleases--I just don't agree with the concept.

  • You have a point there. In the old jewish religion, the woman is the Head of the home. That means at home she has the authority to choose what she must do in order to make sure her household is in order, the man HAS TO HELP by bringing her all the material things she needs, basically she Rules the house and He is the PAYCHECK. Interesting.

  • It is the same way in traditional Japanese marriages. The husband brings home the salary and hands it over to the wife, who then gives him a weekly allowance. The wife makes all the decisions of the household, such as children's education, the purchase of furniture and so on.

  • maybe i should marry a japanese man... lol no seriously my husband has no authority over me and no man would have "authority" over me.

  • Anna let the girls use the dresses (and other things from her wedding) again when Michelle and Jim Bob had their vow renewal ceremony.

  • That's nice that she let them, but they really didn't need her permission to wear their own dresses.

  • I don't think they needed permission. It's just during the episode of the parent's vow renewal, one of the girls mentioned the stuff they used was from Josh and Anna's wedding.

  • jessa and jana look so pretty

  • meh...if she wants him to be the authority, then I say, whatever floats your boat...it's how they do things in that family and how they like it. But yes, I'm sure she can handle herself just fine if need be.

  • ANNA is her own authority, Mr. Keller. Anna would do just fine on her own if she needed to be. No one is her authority, she is her own woman. There is no "authority" over Anna to get "passed along" to Josh.

  • It's their religion that believes in that. They belong to something known as Independent Baptists which pretty much explains a lot of why the Duggars are the way they are.

  • Yeah, I know, but still... My parents are Southern Baptists (how I was raised) and I thought they were the strictest Baptists "sect" haha Its just crazy what comes out of Mr. Keller's mouth... I think he is more crazy than Jim Bob in his antics lol.

  • yeah, i thought so too.

  • He wouldn't be giving his daughter to Josh if he felt she was in any way going to be mistreated. A husband is to respect and revere his wife, according to scriptures. So many who don't know a whole lot about the Bible think OBEY means she's to follow his every order, when actually OBEY means to respect and honor. And he's to cherish her as well. The husband is to treat his wife like Christ treats the church...with love.

  • I just don't like the dad acting like he owns her like she's his property until he says she can go and be with someone other guy who then has "authority" over her... She can pick her own husband and belong to herself if she wants, her father is there to support and guide her, not to own her. He just needs to treat his daughters like they are their own women and can make their own choices and good decisions in life. If they want his opinion they'll ask him for it, otherwise no need to "butt in".

  • Your beliefs are liberal, and theirs are conservative. This is fine with them, but if you choose to live differently, that's your choice. The daughters apparently have no problem with any of this.

  • Yeah, in God's eyes, according to scriptures, the gal belongs to her dad until marriage. I can tell we don't see eye to eye, and that's fine. My husband and I are more conservative, much like the Duggar and Keller families, except we do believe in birth control, only having the amount of kids you can handle, etc. When a father hands his daughter over in marriage what's happening is he's transferring her to him. As for butting in, I wanted my family's blessing. Marriage is about families.

  • That's right. The church is described as His bride. God is the head of every home, then the husband, then the wife, then the children (heritage).

  • The belief is that the man is the head of the woman, but the woman is to follow the man AS he follows Christ. If he's not following Christ, she doesn't have to follow him, but then she's to make sure she follows Christ.

  • Egh, I'm a bit too feminist for that :-/

  • "i hopr the foods good" lolz

  • that some great team work when they try to get the ring out.

  • i kno rite

  • anna looks very pretty despite the blue eyeshadow
