can never go wrong with fender or squirer with a good amp.many other great brands but im parcial to fender consistancy and sturdyness, lol if thats a word .holla
imma beginner looking to start playin what should i get to start 4 or 5 string and what brands does anyone suggest........tryna start playin in church
@klucgotbeats Well depends on how serious you are. I would start with a 5 string. and Search up MarlowDK he teaches you how to play bass groves and fills. I play some of his groves and it's made me better. Though he teaches you to play with your ear which is the best way in my opinion.
I have this bass! It's a Fender Squire Deluxe Jazz V. I got it for $269.99. Great sound. But the neck is over 2" wide at the nut and I'm 5' tall, so it gives my hands a challenge! Love it, though.
@NukeGenious Hi Nuke, yes this is the one with the slap switch. The bass is an amazing value and worth buying. I got mine in November 2008 and it was $299.99 with 10% off. It may cost a little more now, but definitely worth it!
there is really no big secret its all about specific dynamics and what parameters you want to hear but most gospel bassists use a lot of mids on the active controls this will give you more expression on runs also dont be afaid to use higs for real clarity and and resonance but amp settings are most important in my opinion ,also i tend to use both pick ups when i play becouse it rounds out the bottom end and reduces pickup noise
I've noticed that the best bass tone I've ever heard has come from gospel music played in predominately african-american churches. Whenever I hear a gospel song like this one, the bass guitar tone is BOOMING with awesome tone and power. What is the secret behind this bass sound?
