Very mesmerizing and beautiful, both audio and video. The fact that this was shot in 1985 Tokyo and the somewhat degraded quality of the image caused by the analogue nature of the storage medium definitely adds to its haunting and ethereal qualities for me personally. This is one of the rare pieces of art I encounter which manages to capture and convey a very specific type of nostalgia (which is not shared by many) and evokes indescribable sentiments of heartbrokenness in me. Do you feel it too?
This is the track to my life; a bold claim but it caught me when I was just living a new life London and this caught all my private hopes and fears and loneliness. It made me feel strong and remote, like I was somewhere other than I really was, when I 'd rather have been somewhere else instead..
Bought this on VHS when it came out. Had to get via mail order, of course as this was never going to be stocked by the local video store!
Still looks and sounds fantastic 20 years later. As previously commented, ahead of its time and all the more remarkable when put in the context of "music videos" of the time which were all about bright colours and quick edits.
@TheVoidArea Not all music videos of that time were "all about bright colours and quick edits" at all. Other people were doing stuff like this too, some, like Sylvian, closely connected with pop.

Trippy footage, and the music sure is ethereal and ahead of its time. Heck, I was BORN in 1985!
