Nobody ever helps anyone at boat ramps. Getting your boat out of the water (quick) is like earning your man card in front of the world. What a ridiculous exercise in futility for these people. Big boat, really bad water conditions, and here they needed 3 to 4 REALLY coordinated and knowledgable people that know what they're doing to pull this off. They weren't idiots, but I'm sure they felt like they got their asses beat! Ramp watchers suck!
I agree. If I found myself in a position like this having problems getting the boat back on in bad conditions, I`d feel like head butting the idiot filming me. You should have given the poor bastard a hand instead of videoing him.
I've been in this situation only a matter of weeks ago. I reversed the trailer that little bit too far and once the boat was on the trailer a larger than expected wave came along and lifted the boat so it wasn't secured correctly on the trailer rollers. Easy mistake but you learn from them. The idiot filming can't even hold the camera steady so how shit are they?? Like to see their attempt at a beach retrieval...probably couldn't afford a boat cause they work at coles for 15 bucks an hour lol

A drive on trailer would have definately helped, but beach ramps are very tough no matter what you have and are dangerous. Best bet is to drive a bit further to a deepwater ramp, or if you cant do that, take up golf!!

The trick with gettin the boat on there is to have the strap SHORT. Drive the boat on right up to the roller during a brake in the waves, hook the strap then drive the whole rig up the ramp and finish winching it away from the waves.

@coastrunner536 , well number one if it was me the trailer would have two poles on the side with rollers on them , make it so much easyer , then you can just drive the boat on , make the back rolls more high then the other , so when you do drive it on , it locks in place . you don't even need to hook it up .

As for how easy or hard it is to load a boat at that ramp - that boat seemed to be giving a difficult time, with it's flat bottom. It took 3 to hold it, 1 piloting, 1 driving truck, 1 winching, 1 hooking up.
Clearly high seas - so it is appreciably a challenge to begin with; however, a simple bow and stern line would have solve this problem in about two seconds...

@TheJoJo694u I feel sorry for the poor buggar. Yeh, it would have been better if someone reversed the trailer down and he just drove on. But sometimes things just go wrong. Glad to see he finally got it all together. A shame all those people decided to watch him struggle instead of lending a hand.

If the boat is semi loaded, that is the time to drag it out. The rest can be done on dry land. Boats do not have to be fully loaded to tow them out of danger. They had the chance to do this before the wave hit. I couldn't finish watching this painful retrieval.

just wondered do you actually own a boat mate and if you did you would realise that if you have never launched one off this particular ramp it is quite tricky and one of the worst boat ramps eva... nice to know that one could always count on you in an emergency..
