  • the guys of the other video are right, the demo is better

    thank u hillel

  • And after 29 years still kick asses!!!

  • fking awsome funk!

    yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

  • Shermdog can go and screw himself...Slim Bob Billy was such a badass funktastic motherfucker!

  • Way better then the album version. Jack Sherman kinda sucked, and apparently Anthony hated Andy Gill (the producer of the first album) so much that he gave him a gift: a turd in a pizza box.

  • @MrAwesome349

Actually,Flea gave him the turd in a pizza box.I just read the book.

  • This version may be shorter than the album version, but it makes up for it in total badass-ness. SOOOO much better than the album version.

  • Hey Everyone!

we are an island's view, we love RHCP! More than flea loves to slap da bass. We just uploaded a couple of our singles onto our youtube channel. Come check erm out or just search:

  • Anthony's voice is different in the final version, here looks more like today. Strange ...

  • Love the part he sais "...and he fuck them all!"

Too bad they changed it "love them all"... Now, i know some of you trolls will write me they had to change it because of "censored" shit but I know it, so dont even bother! :P :*

  • Sherman was shit.

Even Anthony said, he lacked that RAW FUNK sound that Hillel brought...infact the band was dissapointed when they seen Jack put a lube on his strings to alow his fingures to slide easier.

Yes Andy Gill made it a radio friedly album...but Sherman just couldnt play funk liike the others

  • @FabDrummer91 yeah but without sherman rhcp would've died, so you shouldn't talk bad about him unless you wanted them to die as a band.

  • @TheJewishKoolAidMan Brother, I´m glad they SURVIVE damn Sherman

  • @avaccariver and andy gill

  • @TheJewishKoolAidMan hahaha fuck yeah!

  • @avaccariver i'll defend sherman but andy gill was just an asshole, didn't respect them or their music.

  • @TheJewishKoolAidMan don´t get me wrong bro, sherman is a good guitarrist, but never was a chili pepper

  • This is the best song to listen to while you run for your train.

  • Josh was 4 years old when they recorded this haha! :)

  • R.I.P. Hillel Slovak

    He was the best :).

  • it wasnt their fault that the final version isnt as good. i read that andy gill kept arguing that it needed to sound polished and radio friendly.

  • this sounds really good!!!!!, they fucked up the song on the album...

  • RIP hillel

  • @kitchenmark1 are you dumb

  • Comment removed

  • @kitchenmark1 this song is from the demo tape the original Chilies (Kiedis, Flea, Slovak and Irons) recorded, and it was later released on "Out In L.A." cd.

  • Sherman was probably alot better than he sounded on the album,

Even flea dosen't sound half as good on the album as he does here so that shows how shit the production was.

  • this is fantastic!

  • Hillel got a record deal with his other band "What Is This" and decided to play with them rather than with the Chili Peppers. Same with the drummer in the demos. It's not like Anthony kicked him out for being an asshole. It was Hillel's decision.

  • dude this is better than the original

  • This sounds fucking brilliant, probably better than the production on BSSM, funnily enough...

  • So I'm guess I'm in the wrong when I say I think both versions are damn good and I don't particularly think one or the other is better.

  • damn this go hard as a bitch

  • If Hillel never passed away, this video would have 17 mill, not dani california.

  • @FrizAtHome i agree and disagree. things happen for a reason.

  • Sherman is a fucking faget.

  • God, just think this is the first song they ever wrote/recorded and its a absolute masterpiece

  • what makes this better than the original is the way antony sing.

he should try to be more natural :s

  • @saumonnn that's why the Uplift Mofo Party Plan is my fav album ever dude, anthony's vocals are amazing

  • i mis you old peppers!!!!!!

  • Why no picture of Cliff Martinez? He was the drummer on this track.

  • the demo is better then the cd lol

  • damn the better sounds better then the cd, its more alive

  • Flea looks like Wayne Rooney here. :D HAHAHAH!

  • For one hot minute it says

"Composers: Dave Navarro; Flea ; Anthony Kiedis; Chad Smith .

Personnel: Tree (violin); John Lurie (harmonica); Lenny Castro, Stephen Perkins (percussion); Jimmy Boyle, Aimee Echo, Kristen Vigard (background vocals)."

So Tree is the violinist they knew???

  • oh man imagine if hillel was still alive...

    Anthony: vocals

    Flea:bass

    John: lead guitar, backing vocals

    Hillel:rhythm guitar

    Chad:drumsssssss

    that would be so epic

  • @cheeseboy2007 Switch John and Hillel... I think Hillel was much better, though John is fucking epic too.

    It'd be epic indeed.

  • @Seanyboy225 haha, even better, keep both of them D:

    Dual guitar solos. Fuck yeah.

  • the bass line in the solo is different :O

  • @ YourChecked love

    He's singing

Now that I told you litlle something 'bout the FLEA

    Flea = Flea

Tree = Keith "Tree" Barry (old friend form the peppers)

And it's Antwan the swan not Alphonse or something :)

  • at pvthitch..sounds like a class idiot who doesnt understand how a band can mature over time

chili peppers never did drop there game

they were a relentless force from start to finish..and wev yet to see the finish :D

  • Most bands get better for a few years until they start to suck.

The Peppers hit the top with their peak with their first album, then it was all downhill from there.

  • @pvthitch i think their peak was more like Freaky Styley. they had George clinton as a producer and they made some of their best songs then i think. not saying the first record was bad it was amazing

  • @papoRHCP Next lyrics are :

For you it's a chase , but I lose you in the haze. Now you spend your days catching rain in your chaise go out.

Want to know the other lyrics just send a message.

  • I would like to know the lyrics of this version...

what's next to "L.A.'s the place, sets my mind ablaze

For me, it's a race through a cotton pickin' maze"????

  • Two hundred women up against the wall and he swore to fear that he'll fuck them all

xD This is why i think that Anthony was Sex-aholic

  • im pretty sure it 'he threw a hundred women up against the wall, but two hundred works just the same.

  • this sond is great, too bad they had to become the metallica of funk rock, sucking after bssm like metallica did after justice.

californication not that good(overrated), by the way SUCKS, stadium's not too bad, 1 hot minute AWFUL. first 5 albums minus freaky styley(decent) and mothers milk(halfway dece) were great.

blood sugar and mofo plan rule!!!

  • @jvtherrien1 Californication overrated? Are you serious right now? Have you heard "This Velvet Glove"? People get so caught up on this funk 1980's RHCP. BANDS GROW UP. Enjoy the music as the artist puts it out! You can't do the same shit every year!!! By the Way sucks? I challenge you to come up with better melodies. They had the whole state of California groovin...then the whole world caught on.

  • "... BANDS GROW UP.. " sometimes they don't bro. You gotta admit thought, some bands go so totally way out of their original style that they might as well change their name. They lost tons of fans and the true essence of the band is lost. Sorry to say. Ass has happened with many as GNR, AIC, GREEN DAY etc etc... you cannot say the don't blow nowadays. =S

  • i do like this velvet glove but cuuijqymuruqdte is right in the fact that its almost a totally diff band now. i do like some newer stuff(stadium mostly).

i dont think californication is as good as evry1 says. it may be best selling album but nowhere near best, or 2nd best or 3rd

  • @sheppard82 people are entitled to their opinions. if people enjoy this style of music better than their current shit, who says they HAVE to like it just because its the same band name

  • im right with you. mofo, mothers milk, and bssm were the shit. then they released one hot minute and it just went down hill from there

  • this is fuckin great but i have to say that there anthem is definately Deep Kick from One Hot Minute....its all about their child hood and the telepathics , love and belly laughs between flea and anthony....fuckin musically epic

  • Can someone explain how 15 minutes of demo can sound better than a 30 minute studio album?

    Oh yeah... fucking Andy Gill

  • F to the fucking G GREAAATTTT

  • Kick ass!!!! way better than the origional.

  • Fking demo owned the original! FKING OWNS!!! Funkadelic Sex Funk!!!!

  • Out In L.A. rarities album is BETTER than their corny debut album...

  • Simply Funk Metal #fact

  • THIS SHIT IS PURE FUCKIN DOPE

  • SIMPLY FUNK!

  • hillel slovak's brother favorited this

  • anthym*. Have you ever read Scar Tissue?

  • fuckiogn awesome

  • 1000 times better than the final version

  • Ya but Flea and Anthony were doing this stuff earlier

  • bass solo at :30 is so tight dude.

  • FUNKHARDCOREPUNKRAP

  • all the songs on the first album were good but the demos of the songs were Sick

  • Damn. The sound is awesome for a demo, they really nailed it. And I think Anthony's voice is much more like Anthony than on the album.

  • and hille is slim ^^ rip hillel

  • ha ha that was awesome!

  • dumass

  • the demo is so much better ^^

  • The demo's are better cause the producers wanted hits on the radio and the chilis wanted their energy not hits. They bucked it the whole time but couldn't od much about it in the end. This entire song is about the chilis, Slim is hillel, Tree is Flea and He called himself Alphonse the Swan or whatever, cool song.

  • Antoine the Swan ;)

  • Yesh, Thank you :)

  • isn't tree a sax player?

    caus flea is flea's nickname

  • Anthony called himself antoine the swan n__n

  • tree is their sax player, he was with them on freaky styley too, haha. love this song!!

  • this is the Chillis first album/demo

  • can someone give me the lyrics of this song please

  • ..truly funks

    when i hear it i wanna dance like a crazy freak.i like slovak's glasses(r.i.p)

  • cant stop listening this.

  • the demo is much better than the studio version!

  • that's kinda sad... when the demo tape is better than the album...

  • I'm just glad he was back for Freaky Styley and Uplift

  • Hillel was born in the same city as Gene Simmons (and me).

  • israel?

  • Israel isn't a city. He was born in Haifa, Israel.

  • *in* israel I meant. That's a cool fact.

  • That song always gets me going, even when I'm superdown. Just love it, it's tons better than the album version ! Antwan The Swan from the pretty fish pound !

  • well actually that was what they were trying to

  • Haha, they look like a bunch of kids in that picture.

  • I like Sherman, because at least he tried.

  • ak's singing a lot better also.

  • yeah... u can actually understand him lol.

  • a lot better.

  • they should have done the entire with Hillel. you can see where Fruscanti got his influence.

  • yeah Hillel was awesome...Jack sherman-not so much haha. by the way i like your name:ClaytnBigsb haha

  • i dont think that sherman was terrible. he had the misfortune to record with a shit company, so his guitar sounded crap.

claytnbigsby, the black white suppremasist. it was to good to pass up

  • you're right...sherman didnt suck, but once you compare him to Frusciante and Slovak he's not great and doesn't gel with the band as well as those two do.

And yeah the first album was really poorly produced, it could have been a lot better but i still love it

  • @claytnBigsb sherman agreed with the producer in his tries to make the album approval for the radio. So that's why the guitar hasn't got this sharp punk sound.

  • @I know this is off the RHCP subject, but I so wish I coulda made ClaytnBigsb my youtube name! And I love The Peppers....does anyone know when John left lately? I just got the news :(

  • @claytnBigsb Frusciante said he was not a funky guitarist when he entered the band (it showed in Mother's milk) but then he learned from Hillel's recordings... and it showed too.
