I've got a question for everybody supporting homosexuals. you seem to interprete sexual immorality (porneia/fornicatio) in spirit of saint Augustine, a spirit of church tradition. ok, this is your choice. I ask, what is the basis for homosexual marriages?
That pastor has done Mark a great dis-service. "Radically inclusive" is just a politically correct way to say "condoning of self-destructive vices". The pastor is running a secular social group, not a church. What these "pastors" don't realize is that they uphold gay stereotypes and hurt the chances of gay rights being legislated into our society. I tried attnding a "church" with a similiar teaching. They thought I was an un-compassionate bigot for defending sexual purity.
Why do they think that they can reject the teaching of the Scriptures? I Thess 4
"It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. "
i think the answer to both questions is no, regardless of sexuality.
There are churches that preach love and acceptance which is great but without the message of self control, the importance of fighting against fleshy desires and to flee from immorality, the preaching is one sided. If in doubt, refer to scripture.
Mark may only need to hear the message of repentance. In this, his church has failed him.
What you have said is very true. And the message, as you've said, does translate across boundaries of sexuality. The same would apply if Mark was heterosexual, and it was women that he was using and abusing to satisfy his desires.
We need Churches that will stand up for love, and care for others, but, too many Pastors don't want to offend their congregation by dealing with these issues. They want a large flock, but they don't seem to mind that their flock is also full of ravenous wolves.

Mark may come to know what living as a Christian entails, but he should
a) take responsibility for his faith by studying the Bible &
b) Find a Church that preaches actual scripture.
