we listened to a practise aural in class and one girl talked about lady gaga and something about 'a little bit of running'.
i got mine tomorrow. i posted mine on french yahoo answers to get it corrected - i feel so genious - but now i've got 13 hours and 50 minutes to learn it (7 hours being sleep).
I can't remember it in english, let alone french!!!! what am i going to do?!
It's less difficult than it looks: once you've written it, all you have to do is practise. I'm going to be a French teacher so I need to achieve an excellent grade. Good luck to y'all who have Aurals coming up. I'm sure you'll do well. x
That's something I hate about French. Your speaking in a french accent and suddenly you say a name of a band or place and you say it in English because there is no French word for it and you feel like an idiot.
@TheStSilver toooootally agree. i have to say the name of my school over and over in my presentation and my questions and it sounds ridiculous. especially when i say it in a french accent by accident.
@TheStSilver happens whatever country you're from. There's no word in French for some English words, no word in Welsh for some English words, no word in Gaelic for some Welsh words, etc. etc. etc. - so don't worry about it. You may feel like an idiot but it doesn't make you look like one if you explain there's no word in French for it.
the chinese girl also keeps sayin parce que like "parsi kuh" instead of "parse kuh" (ignore my messed up sounds but you can tell what i mean if you listen)
@wongy2006 so many people do that - even our old french teacher (who was french) said it like that. Maybe it's just an accent thing because GCSE french seems to tech us really posh french apparently (says french exchanges).
I have a question....right at the end where does the second speaker say she wants to go on holiday if she had lots of money? It sounds like "la lune" (the moon) which clearly makes no sense at all?!
That was execellent, i have mine tomorrow!!!! aaagggh lol. By the way "Oral" is to do with speaking whereas "Aural" is to do with listening. So an Aural exam would probably be found in a subject like music
Im nervous I have my french orals soon, if any french natives read this please check out my video I need some suggestions to improve my pronunciation ;D
actually she is reading notes / sentence openings/ important phrases from an A5 piece of paper. you are allowed to do this but not have the whole prentation written down. the examination board
How on Earth does this help you ace your French if it has no translation?

you never make the liaison for "et". The t is ALWAYS silent, even when there is a vowel in the beginning of the next word

I mean 'oracy' not oracity, I'm not sure where I got that from lol.
judodan 3 years ago
It should be 'oral' which in English refers to spoken production ----> oracity.
'Aural' on the other hand refers to spoken comprehension, i.e. listening.
This is just in English however, where there is a spelling change; in French there is no change:
Compréhension orale - Production orale
