  • why so slow? what plane were u in?

  • @elephant35e Boeing 737

  • we got our garmin for 50 or 60 £

  • @jadejordan1 personal GPS demand looks like it will decrease. A lot of cellphone have GPS now. I use my cellphone's GPS more then my Garmin now...

  • teehehe... The GPS car is flying, guess it's the flying car from Harry Potter :D

  • wow 385 mph dude if a car did that fast the wheels would fall off and the car would be sprayed with asfult!

  • @joepatroni77 no u cant.

  • haha i have to try that next time im on a plane

  • I use my Garmin Oregon on the commercial planes and it works great. I hook it up to my laptop to get a better display. I use it from the moment of push back at parking bay until parking at the destination airport. It has no interference on the plane's system - I also take it when pilot light aircraft. My top speed on a Boeing clocked on my garmin is 1020km/h

  • Cool. I'll be flying in a few months and wondered how a GPS would behave. I'll be taking my Nuvi 265W onboard.

  • You know, I took that flight that I mentioned and I powered up my Nuvi 265W on the plane and couldn't find any satellites. I left it on for awhile and stil nothing. Actually I tried it once going and again coming back home.

  • i want one! yo david how much does it cost?

  • Kev I got it back in Dec. 2007 for 300 or so... but it's prabably 250 to 280 now. Just search online and you'll find a good price.

  • Carrying this as a backup just in case a private pilot had total navigation instrument failure would be so cool. YOu would be able to determine you're exact co-ordinates, lat & long. Personally i don't agree with flying without gps as a backup in any weather. I think it should be made mandatory by the faa just like tcas was made

  • Yeah, that would be really awesome.

  • @fayik123 they do have GPS chips, but, you're right, the only reason thing that the cps chips work on, is the black box.

  • For any receiver to work (in this case "GPS's just receive info") it has an oscilator to tune in on the RX signal, this oscilator can also 'leak' a very low signal which can affect other more sensitive RX units. ie affect the planes navigation system...

  • You could've killed everyone. . . .

It's forbidden to use GPS devices on a plane, especially during take off and landing.

  • GPS's just receive info, it doesn't send anything out, Everyone was safe!! I would worry more about what the pilot was doing the night before, and how many hours he has, or weather or not they checked the plane for cracks and such..GPS's are 100% safe!!! It all comes down to the airline, some will be cool, others not so much.

  • I was exaggerating of course... didn't you watch The Simpsons when Bart turned on the GameBoy and the airplane fell? But I believe all airlines restrict electronic devices during takeoff and landing.

  • shut the fuck up u dumb dip shit u dont no what the fuck u r talking about

  • Well, it's not my fault you have a penis stuck up your ass all the time.

  • wtf does that have 2 do with u being a dumb dip shit that knows nothing about gps systems and planes u fucking faggot

  • Haha, so you don't deny it. Seriously, try removing it and maybe you'll finally stop bitching at people.

  • Yes, the GPS, including remote-controlled cars and communication devices (AND Cell Phones) are extremely prohibited on board until the aircraft comes to a full stop.

  • Hmm, how do you get a signal fix once you start moving?

Or do you start using it on the ground.

  • I turned it on right when we took off.
