I am 46...live in Canada, and have been in awe of the amazing Capitol Records building since I was a teen...a lot of the records I purchased in the 80s had the Capital Records label on them ..a lot of history...thanks for the tour, and damn cool that your dads has been working there for 30 yrs..

I'm a geezerette...worked at Capitol in the 70's when Jay Ranelucci, Hugh Davies and Hilde (?) were the reigning engineers. Brings back fond memories, wish I was still there.
That was great!!! At 75 your dad is still doing and enjoying what he loves. You must be very proud of him. Heck, I'm proud of him and he ain't even my dad. LOL!
Wow.. i remember walking by the building and daydreaming about how it would be to go in someday .... the closest i got was my manager at the time. so thanx for making a dream come true via cyberspace...
Always wondered what it was like to walk through to studio A at the Capitol Records Tower where my favorite artist Frank Sinatra recorded. Thank you very much for this!
hay bro, great video!!!!i have a project going on with Rob Vinton... ask your dad if he knows His dad Bobby vinton!!!or maybe Les Brown or Andy Williams....we might know some of the same people!!!
Yea, he does (in passing). My Dad was a conductor in the late 5o's through 60's in Vegas during Rat Pack reign and worked in the same circle as all those yo-hip-kats.
No, I don't, but I've been told I am tops in research, and with the clues you gave, I researched out the identity of your DAd! He has an impressive list of accomplishments, dating way back...such as the pianist on an Al Hirt record back in '66, arranged by Lalo Schifrin!
Good on you dude!! Yea, Lalo is a close family friend. Dad and Lalo came from Argentina (old school friends) around the same time. Lalo made a left to Hollywood and Dad conducted Big Band in NY (late 50's). Dad did some work for Lalo on Manix, Mission Impossable, Cool Hand and so on. Actually, Lalo helped jump start Dad in the Hollywod arena.
That your Dad and Lalo both generated from Argentina is great!I've always admired Lalo..I've been listening to one of his first Dot Albums from about 1968 in my car entiled "There's a Whole Lalo Schifrin Goin' On"...I'll admit I didn't get it(understand the concept)when it first came out, but now I'm diggin'it! lol
Sy Leslies old company, old schools knew what they were doing, he should make a comback like clive. Neve Vr, a classic caddilac, only way to do a big session like that, thanks for introducing your dad to us
(dang, can't get the first photo)...then Bobby Darren, Judy Garland, Dean Martin, Liza????, Nat King Cole...how'd I do, Geebz? And the scoring session was absolutely BEAUTIFUL...just gorgeous. What an awesome vid...something we don't get to see every day, that's for sure. Your dad is fab. Thanks much! Best, Joy
Looking forward, Geebz! Sheesh...it's great I got them all right, but feelin' a little OLD right now that I knew them lol. But, I come from a musical family and it's been in my face since birth, so....guess that's a GOOD thing! Best, Joy
Your father seems like a soft spoken man, hope they give him a mic.

Wonderful "Capitologue".....hahaha. Thanks for taking us on this trip!
I enjoyed it very much, and your Dad writes
some beauuutiful music!!!
When the musicians applaud after the take, you can bet it's good!
And you're right...the back entrance of the studio hasn't changed a bit since my friend Bill and I visited it in the 1960's!(I think that's great)
