my dad owns a pizza restaurant and i can throw the dough about like 3 times but after that its wayyy too big... this dough has got to be rubber or something cuz it doesnt stretch the way it should lol
@VolcomSkater2024 They use a special dough made for competitions. They've televised these competitions and the dough is clearly made from flour and does break eventually.
@awkgah Looks more like rubber, i work at papa johns and the dough after that much spinning would be 2x to big for the cooking screen. i can throw it in the air and keep it spinning in the air but thats about it.
a dough that tough and resilient would taste like cardboard.
i never toss my pizza dough. it should be delicate and full of aeration that has been built up over a 24 hour period. i only ever shape very gently on my counter.
@doyouhearmeihearyou u relize the pizza goes though an ovver at 450 degrees Fahrenheit. yea i understand thats gross but nothing is going to make it though tht over u have nothing to worry lol
@adiosk8er63 Good point, sometimes more like 550 degrees... and BTW, you cant do that many spins (or any tricks for that matter) with REAL dough, it would stretch into a super thin x-large and then tear open after about 8 revos. this is a trick dough and to eat it would be like eating a dogs chew toy.
@doyouhearmeihearyou Not like they'd actually feed you that lol it's just for show. The FDA would shut down the store if they fed people food like that.
@doyouhearmeihearyou you would be supprised my friend! its not that gross bud. any pizza place that has decent pizza throws dough like that trust me, it aint digornio pal. thats why you dont give people shit who make you food :) worked at a pizza place . . . trust me on that
It's real dough, salt based like djamac guessed. It's competition dough used for tricks in competition dough tossing. Health codes wouldn't allow dough to be rolled on someones body, don't be stupid. ProDough, although similar, looks much different, but is used by competitors to practice. There are many great dough tossers. The tosser in the Visa commercial is Juan Hermisillo. You can find Tony's comp dough recipe online.
Yeah cause the dough we make would be way stretched out long before he stared doing tricks, must be a salt based dough of some kind just made for tossing
its a "special dough" ... .. its made of plastic (or sumthn like dat) it doesn't stretch or tear. .. .. so they use it for competitions or practice .. ..
I think that is wat that is . .. .. seen that dough in FoodNetwork

It's not super hard to do a lot of those trucks when you're using a throw dough. Real pizza dough stretches out when you toss it. Hence the toss.
