Since there were 4 coils you could have added 3.00 worth of neodymium magnets n-s-n-s and
had your self a PMA and produced electricity thus needing no more fuel to break down the leftovers. Recycling is ever so important But are we recycling the right way? Or just copper cash.

1 is bigger then a pencil lead and 2 is smaller. its not purity. copper is not alloyed it is used to alloy.at .45 a lb for motors your only getting 2.25, same as you would get for just the clean 2 copper. that motor cant be over 5 lbs. so if he got dirty aluminum for the rotor and took a big stack of the stator housings in on a good day he should net 3.18. .if your getting paid wire price on clean wire your getting ripped off.
Why do they give you number 2 prices? Are you too stupid to tell them that it is pure copper? Copper HAS to be pure in electrical components, or else the device won't function
ANYWHERE near it's potential. You should know that.
thats how to do it so much weight to that wire in all motors it nuts ! I just through one hlaf of windings using either jig saw or cutting wheell on a drill then clean pull them out off the steel windings on other side takes me all of 15 mins to do on large motors ! SOME motors have like 3 to 5 lbs of windings in them ! IF it's coated #2 wire i just wrap it up with #1 bright copper so i dont lose .20 cents per lb !
so much work for so little payback, lol

Actually you lost half of what you could have gotten for whole motors.
We haul ours to Denver and at .45 a pound they're worth more whole.
Wire is the same way Romex is worth around 2.00 a pound no way to
get near that even stripping it into bright and shiny.

just learning about this stuff now. How much is 1 pound of copper like you found in the motor going to fetch at the recycling center?
Thanks,
