  • @User8373 Your source, please? She doesn't really reveal that much about her personal life, ever.

  • @User8373 your just jealous you dont have an ounce of her success or talent

  • PJ Harvey is a goddess, but it's not Lady GaGa you guys should be criticising. At least she writes her own music, has complete creative control.

It's all the nobodies like Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry, with lack of talent and uniqueness that you should be concerned about, not people like GaGa and PJ, who, although are completely different, both stand for the same thing, which is putting 100% into your art.

  • @JurtWobain Sorry but gaga is complete caca. Doesn't matter that she writes her own songs, it's still crap.

  • Such a Talented Professional Babe!

  • I don't quite know why, but I find PJ incredibly beautiful, in a chameleon-like way. Her voice is just.... heavenly.

  • I would happily drink a gallon of her piss

  • @hippotoast , Lol , cheers!

  • @mooroopoo bottoms up!

  • She has amazing eyes!! I love hearing her talk :)

  • she honestly looks way better with her eyebrows trimmed!

  • @Vash1286 Bjork doesn't.

  • What are you's on about Justin Bieber is by far the best new female artist.

  • Very intelligent woman

  • i'm a 45 year old grandpa and i won't let my grandkids listen to gaga,

Alot of PJs songs they know by heart.

  • lovely lady, great music

  • She gets hotter as she gets older. PJ rocks

  • She's the kind of woman every woman fantasizes being and every man wants to be with. So cool, smart, talented, gorgeous.... love her!

  • beautiful and talented...double threatee

    love her

  • What year was this made?

  • She is so beautiful, and deep. God, I love her :D

  • I'm always drawn to artists, like PJ Harvey, who challenge our heads.

  • This lady is fascinating. So lucky to have the chance to listen to her. And really beautiful eyes!!!

  • She's so cool.

  • She is such a good looking woman...very cute

  • brilliaiantttttQ!!!!!

  • I would marry this woman in an instant.

  • Which Is the name of first song <(The one dressed on red?)

  • @Logases it is "down by the water"

  • one very intriguing human being .Now we know her" process"I would n't have expected less. if she shifts gears into f'n sculpture she would redefine that medium as well...so far past cool there isn't a word for it.

  • PJ is incredible, a legendary woman in rock in my humble opinion. To Bring You My Love and Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea fall into my top 250 of all time, and I have listened to a LOT of albums. And she has several others that are fascinating too. And you can see by this video she's ambitious underneath it all. She rules, plain and simple.

  • Why do people keep somehow bringing gag-a and PJ into the same conversation? That's offensive to say the least. When PJ sings, everybody listens and shuts up, nothing else exists, including gag-a.

  • @shicadasilva

    word

  • wow its so cool..its like we think so much alike!!

  • She is SO fing AWESOME!

  • gaga can lick PJ's feet

  • @1StOfDecember Damn straight!

  • she opened for u2 once and you gotta be pretty talented to open for them.

  • @goofygoat2009

far as i'm concerned u2 should be opening for her. u2 has turned into a commercialized rubbish factory. pj is a true artist exploring new boundaries with every album.

  • @zarni000 zarni...good point. and i'm a U2 fan! (since 1983) I have to agree, U2 have, well, become a little too big for thier britches.

  • @goofygoat2009

i *was* a u2 fan. since joshua tree it's been downhill unfortunately...

  • @zarni000 I consider The Joshua Tree U2's best work. (And Boy also) When they got techno in the early 90's, they sucked (IMO). The Pop CD was terrible and I knew just some day, they would make at least one lousy CD. So in that light, I have to agree with you again!

  • yabba dabba dooo. love her lips too.

  • Please don't ever be a vet!

Love your amazing music! Keep rocking!

    Stefan

  • it's so rare to find someone beautiful and talented at the same time

    pj is perfect!

  • @HeroinBleeds I find this comment somewhat uninformed, or maybe just immature. Why would would beauty and talent be mutually exclusive? Actually I think talent & beauty are consistent: Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Shirley Manson, Shakira. Also beauty w/out talent tends to fade a lot sooner than beauty with talent. Almost everyone looks good at 18, but its usually the quality people who still look good in their 40's and older. I think their overall interest in life and art helps their looks.

  • immature? i'm telling the truth whats your problem? most singers these days are just popular with their bleached hair/thick makeup/plastic surgery instead of talent, that disappoints me alot.

but pj on the other hand is different. she's simply beautiful and her music is some kind of art. same with shirley, debbie, kate etc. they're special.

im 18 but i know what real beauty is and its not just about age, size and shape. its also rare to find someone who can understand that in my age

  • @HeroinBleeds OK. to the extent that you are saying that most singers today are marketed on their appearance rather than their artistic ability, I agree with you. I just got the impression that you were making a larger statement regarding beauty vs. talent which had no basis in truth. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

  • Polly Jean is pure sex.

  • add me yo

  • I don't care what they say, to me she is the best female artist ever!

  • She should be an ambassador for the finest in alternative English rock.

  • she's still got her west counrty accent! cool

  • she's original and way cool!

  • PJ I love you more than singing itself. I've been listening to you since I was 11, singing to a snake crawling between my legs and wanting it all. Thank you for being born.

  • is it just me or is pj harvey somewhat reminiscent of jamie bochert?

  • All music is sound in time and space. Music is a matter of taste. Certain sounds either appeal to you or don't. Don't put up labels, or barricades. Try new things to affirm, explore, expand the limits of your taste. Polly is very respected artist. And shit, if you don't like her music, don't listen to it. It's that simple! There's plenty of music out there for everyone to enjoy.

  • she is amazing

  • 2:02 ... i hear Marianne Faithful : strange isn't it ?

  • Yep. I think she is one of those few artists that will be the 90's/00's version of Marianne. Always underrated but always prevailing.

  • yeah i heard an interview with Polly saying that if she could collaborate with anyone that she most respected Marianne and would want to do it with her.

  • Articulate, intelligent, talented and ... sexy as all hell ...

  • That's exactly what I was thinking s2kx2, she strikes me as very well spoken. Too bad there aren't more like her.

  • uh huh..there's nothing special about her? i don't think so - nowadays i wish there would be more female artists as she is.

that woman created incredible great songs and, to my mind, probably ever will.

this is still good music and she rocks.

not drugged to the eyeballs, no fashion horse, no stereotype. but authentic and unique.

so f**k off and listen to gaga or some shit like that..

  • @Lucky13Morticia I couldn't agree more.

  • @ideastospitat thx :)

  • @Lucky13Morticia I agree with most of what you say! but too say "I wish there would be more female artists as she is" is lame.

Open the ears, open the eyes...... Soap&Skin, Fever Ray, Bat for Lashes and Zola Jesus are all brilliant new female artists, a couple of them named I feel are better than PJ but that is just personal opinion. Not all female artists are like Gaga thank god.

  • @redcommando1 the bands you have mentioned are boring. just my opinion, that no woman can reach her. thx for the conversation. peace.

  • @Lucky13Morticia you go girlfriend

  • she is a great artist. a beautyful performer. she is immortal. in a certain way.

  • I actually some what agree with zardoz, all she does is play powerchords, it's fucking atrocious.

  • Whats your point? Dose it make it any less musical because one plays barre\power chors. Dont be so anal and enjoy the music

  • lol, what the fuck?

  • actually if you knew anything about music or PJ's music you would know PJ actually plays full chords and is a decent rhythm guitar player

  • WOAH FULL CHORDS.

  • so what she's not a lead guitar player, no one mixed punk and blues the way she did and both genres are simple, she's still more creative than you, LOSER!

  • Blues isn't really simple, there is simple blues but it can also be complex while i agree....punk is terrible and simple.

    Creative=/=good.

  • if you don't like punk, you won't like PJ Harvey, not many people have done punk well, but she has

  • No one has ever done punk well.

And she isn't even classified as punk.

You have no clue what you're talking about.

  • okay

  • Hate thea academic point of view; Why don't you try to enjoy music at first place ,as for the simplicity sometimes GENIUS comes along with it and this woman proves it!

  • Absolutely! :)

  • Shes so gorgeous hehe :)

  • hands down, one of the best female artists EVER!

  • vid response........this dude mick agreed 10% on everything he sold once the vid was put out on you tube etc..............i spent months on this vid doing the vid his way( and months trying to tell him he was quite capable of doing it himself) to advertise his work and did not enjoy it, i wanted to do music etc............ps any 1 who reads this who isn't pj, you don't know or want to .....produced Leeds 2007.

  • PJ Harvey is a true artist of ... and HOT!

  • I really regret not to see you at "The Cigalle".Will you come back here in Paris this year?I'm dying to see you playin' the"Good Fortune"...your fan

  • i fantasize about her in my naughty dreams

  • @1StOfDecember LMAO!

  • @1StOfDecember so do i

  • @1StOfDecember

    Oh so do I...and I'm a female. :) :)

  • @wings4marie ah you are naughty

  • @1StOfDecember

    Nice channel, btw. :)

  • Oh, what I would give just to kiss her feet.

  • FANTASTIC!

  • PJ Marry me!!

  • Hey! Back off pal! I want to have her children.

  • I love her so much. I <3 polly

  • what is her accent is it british? i never knew that she wasnt american lol

  • Typical American ignorance.

  • its not "typical american ignorance" im not even american im Russian i just had never heard her talk and i had only heard her sing and people lose there accent when they sing

  • I am sorry, i hope you know that i love you.

  • It's because she's from the West Country. The speech there can sound American sometimes.

So whoever accused you of having "typical american ignorance" is actually quite ignorant of the British.

  • I wondered why Robert Fripp pronounces his r's the way he does, almost like an American. He and Polly are both from Dorset, so I guess that's their accent.

  • the should make music together. both great artists.

  • and vapid head

narrow minded self important etc etc

    oh and shit music

  • Well, narrow minded seems to be exactly what YOU are doesn't it? Self important? Because she's talking about herself? It IS an interview where she's supposed to talk about herself.. duh. And you probably wouldn't recognize beauty even if you stumbled over it.. ..OR good music.

  • im too heartbroken to reply to you right now

  • Poor little you. You don't have to reply. Maybe It's better if you don't. I understand.

  • o no i just woke up i feel better now. now what was this. o yea. first fuck you. second - wait. im suddenly bored and need to go eat.

  • Fuck you? So now you're showing that you're also immature.. Well, have a great life being narrow minded, immature and incapable of spotting beauty and good music. No wonder you're being bored easily. ;)

  • Oh please, you stupid idiot, your only favourite video is 'Idiot jumps against wall', that pretty much sums you up :)

  • It seems that you are not even capable of putting a coherent sentence together.

  • no it doesnt preggy

  • MightyPants is right. You can't put a sentence together properly. You probably don't even know how to get someone pregnant either.

  • In fact I bet you are impotent.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, I'm a man. Yoiu must be a closet gay. And impotent. So sad.

  • You assumed I was a girl. That's because you're a sick, impotent, misogynist (bet you don't know what that means either, moron). Do yourself (and the world) a favour and go jump off a cliff.

  • you can't even spell "you're", asshole

  • uhhhh....

  • age has agreed with her she looks better now then in her 20's...

  • Really? lol, i have the album too, hmm.. , o.k., thank you very much, i need to listen to that album more, it's very under rated as is Uh Huh Her.

  • Does anybody know the song that comes on around 2:30, i don't recognize it, possible B-side? damn those B-sides are impossible to find, and they're all so good.

  • Yes its 'A place called home' 3rd track of 'stories from the city, stories from the sea'

  • its called 'wefloat' taken from the album, 'stories from the city, stories from the sea' in 2001.

    thanking you

  • honest

  • Would thou wert clean enough to spit upon, thou wayward whoreson death-token!

  • she is sexy in every way imaginable... her accent, personality, eyes and those damn lips.... i love you pj

  • Comment removed

  • I love you Polly!!

  • That's a pretty mouth.

  • Exactly what I think everytime I see her

  • i cant hardly wait to see her in 2 may.

  • in her earlier performances she always seems over done....big hair and too much make up...she looks so much better now, more natural, more beautiful

  • I'm sorry guys but, I want to make love to her.

  • she's really achieved what shes saying.......

  • She has a very beautiful face

  • Read them enough & i understand ur point. Ur the one missin it. Besides self expression, and a means of release for the artist, music, (and i know you've said this),is for all of us & we can listen, enjoy & relate to whatever makes us happy.Thats the point of music! Its out there by whatever means, dollars are made, but most importantly, us "conned" are having a good time. Where are you, mate?My opinion may be simple, but you're in here complicating things when you should just put needle to vinyl.

  • That's not a bad way of looking at things.

  • Wots a muso?Someone who plays 1 or more instruments?Singers?Any1 with rhythm? Percussionists??Beatboxrs? Is a songwriter a muso even if he has limited musical talent?Does one need a degree to be labeled a muso? How about me? Am I a musician if I cannot read music or write songs (ones I like anyway),but I can play ANYTHING by ear?I appreciate all genres, even simple dance music.Music is a product just like everything you wear, eat or watch on tele.If it sounds good it usually is.Nothing else matters

  • Well said.

  • What a chip

  • iamstacka: your hysterical over simplification of the point I'm making adds nothing..read my entries again.

  • TO THE CONNED:PJ Harvey et al are prime examples of how accountants have taken over the music industry globally since the early '80's..this music production line reached its peak with the American Idol et al concept..all music genres are based on tipping point (consumer brainwashing) marketing principles..Cave etc are about as counter culture & talented as Bananarama .And of course PJ etc play the accountants' game for the money only..You've all been had, but won't of course admit it.

  • We can't admit anything as long as we're brainwashed ;-)

  • You seem to be a very intelligent person and passionate about music....that being said I'm wondering why your adding to the negative mentality that seems to be ubiquitous on this sight.....I've seen your favorites....to some they may not seem the most enjoyable tunes, the same way you feel about this...the point I'm trying to make is just because it disagrees with your ears doesn't mean it isn't good, or are you omnipotent?

  • Kevin/herbert - I can't think of a worse example of the "corporate music industry" than Peej. She's a truly original, talented artist who has never had big commercial success. To lump her in with the likes of Bananarama is frankly absurd.

  • I like your verbose dislike for corporatism and the evils it's spawned by attempting to monopolize the cultural current but I'm not sure about the scapegoats you picked. Cave and Harvey aren't ubiquitous enough to render them lucrative enough of a target for some surreptitious marketing principle. The kind of music that they produce seems too undiluted to have been influenced so greatly by commercialism as you claim. If their works aren't always great it's at least interesting, that's talent.

  • TakeMePhantom: your point is well made..thanx for the insight. My major beef is with the lap dog arts media who simply reprint anything the music industry publicists send them..word for word. A recent Review supplement in the Australian newspaper referred to Cave as ' one of Australia's greatest songwriters '...& so was Slim Dusty.I say people are free to like whomever they want. To call Cave one of Australia's greatest goth fringe theatre performers sounds OK.But then how may have there been?

  • That's true. The constant need for hyperbole by the PR departme
