It's usually 15-20 minutes from Ruggles to Park St. On the return trip, it's 10-15 minutes because the bus doesn't need to traverse around Boston Common.
What i dislike about the MBTA's NABI buses is that the stop announcements are of low-volume and are difficult to hear, especially if your in the back of the bus.
Agreed. The NABIs are getting a midlife overhaul soon, so we're almost halfway through the NABI era. I hope the T never purchases anything as bad as those POS's ever again.
Same for Valley Metro's system here in Phoenix. The announcements are all inaudible if you are on a NABI bus, the New Flyer's that they have purchased by far are the best buses I've ridden IMO.
The RTS are still around. They just don't appear as much in Boston as they used to due to Arborway, Cabot and Southampton garages' fleets of 100% low floor buses. If you go north to Cambridge or Charlestown during a weekday, you'll find a few RTSs still in service. Better yet, all Crosstown routes use RTS buses 90% of the time.
The 43 bus is my favorite of all the bus routes on the MBTA because it's less crowded and it gets you downtown in less than 10 minutes.
