  • Back before an M-16 cost $13,000...

Roast in Hell William J. Hughes!

  • Well...? That's the coolest fucking thing I've ever seen...

  • Knob creek from back in the day huh?

  • @pacificcoast -Oh yeah, early 1980's, when a collector could even get a spot on dynamite day.

  • I wonder that you americans are shooting with german ww2 weapons ... they`ve been good, no question about it ... i think you don`t know, that we`re not allowed to carry and use weapons here in germany! however, over 90% of the german people won`t think about that fucking war 65 years ago ... it`s not really stupid what you`re doing, but it`s really strange in my eyes ... you`re kind of wired, sorry !

  • @75Ralf Wasn't the German's lack of understand or tolerance for others part of the original problem? We haven't come very far eh?

  • @DepakoteMeister You're so right. People who live in unfortunate countries, who don't have a Constitution for weapons ownership, that was written here to stop any despots from contiueing their political careers. They're stopping their citizens from having technologically advanced weapons, to resist tyranny. Our law, just makes them angry, via jealousy. They need to simply ponder, what if their Government made it illegal to surf the internet, a mind control action. Very sad for their "good" folk

  • os armas bestas essas alemãs so mais as americanas e olhe que eu sou brazileiro

  • wow I wish I was there

  • id NEVER wanna be in the sights of a MG42.. but the guns sound is amazing

  • what year was this?

  • Early 1980's

  • thank you

  • i think the m60 is a damn ugly weapon compared to the 42 or the 34 (especially the 42)

  • far out the sound of the 42 is beautiful.

  • wow a lot of MG

  • No problem SF92, If you havn't seen too many 34's that close up, easy to misidentify. Did it really sound like a M60 to you? Keep up your observations of the various MGs on YouTube. You'll soon recognize each's distinctive cyclic rate.

  • @7arsehle6 the M60 is based on MG42

  • 1:05 M60, wawaweewa!

  • Sorry, not a M60. It's a MG-34 on a tripod.

  • Now I see, damned,

  • is the mg42 so much better then the mg34 ??

  • It is, combat wise. It's lighter, fires faster, made after the Germans encountered the massive numbers of Russians thrown at them. It could be mass produced, much cheaper than the 34. Much more reliable & advanced for its time, it is still used by the German Army & others today. The 34 is still a great weapon, much fun to fire and esthetically a beautiful MG, very much liked by collectors of finely manufactured weapons. Good question 20tigerman20. Google both MGs for more info on each.

  • Well technically the MG42 isn't used by the German Army today. They actually use the MG3, which is pretty much the same but it uses .308 instead of 8mm

  • Of course you are correct, the reworked 42-MG3 "can't" be called the dastardly MG-42within Nato. All the other countries using it, can get their rounds thru Nato. Besides that, thanks for adding to the discussion yohi00.

  • You are very welcome, kind sir! Your gentalmanship is a very great character trait to have, and also one to maintain! I commend you on your kindness! The world needs more people like you!

  • And you too sir. Thanks.

  • The MG42 uses (just like the 34) standerd WWII German rifle ammo.

    Which is 7.92 x 57 mm.

  • cheaper, easier to handle, no single shot (but good gunner can with mg42 single shot)

    easier to clean

  • viele guten Gewehren dort!

  • so awsome!

  • HEY min 0.50 why u rnt pulling trigger?

  • The 34 ground mount has a squeeze device down lower on the mount frame, that activates the grip trigger. Good observation criss

  • look up a lefette tripod, you will see the how it works

  • I thought arch duke ferdinand was assasinated and thats why the whole war started?

  • that´s ONE reason y ww1 hast started!

  • you realize your not getting anywhere Taramriel? I bet you wouldnt last 1 day in Iraq

  • Already won.

  • Lol...

  • aww...knob creek, good times

i live in Franklin, Kentucky so knob creek is like a 2 hour drive. The show was realy good last year

  • Where are all you Americans getting these?

  • Sent you a PM.

  • is the kick back of sren high?

  • No, kick back not high. Recoil is softened by several designs within recoil system. Very nice to shoot. Less than kick of the 98K rifle. Good question hotdevilsz.

  • plenty of superb videos.i'd love to fire thompson and sten!!! ***** stars mate to your videos!!!

  • Thanks petrwarry. Keep that desire to fire the Tommy & Sren alive. I'm sure you will some day. I too love the 34 best. Many stars to your vids too.

  • The Germans fought because they were forced to by Hitler's regime. There was no such thing as a conscientious objector if you expressed you views you were killed simple as that. The British fought to defend their homeland and the U.S. fought to destory the Axis of evil and restore world peace.

  • isso é mais velho do que andar para frente!

  • the 42 makes such a distinct sound, bbbbrrrrppp bbbbbrrrrpppp, sounds incredible, combat would be scarey enough with out that thing going off......maximum respect

  • Knob creek Kentucky!! Hell yes!! I live 20 minutes from there!!

  • i LOVE the sound of the 42 and the 34 at 1:00 where it the pops go from low to high and back and forth. it sounds so cool

  • the german soldiers fought for there country and the fear of being killed by the british, american and other axis troops they also fought for their families safety!!

THE BRITISH DID THE SAME THING!! your opinion would be different if you were a german!!

respect the brave soldiers who fought for all sides in world war one and two!!

  • Now, that's a good statement.

I am not a pacifist. Shooting a weapon for fun is one thing. But killing another human being...War is hell, not a videogame.

  • Just have respect for anybody who is or was in the Military. It doesnt matter what side you were on.

  • the german sodliers did not fight for the fear of being killed by the british! im not saying that every german soldeir was a bloodthirsty killing machine. they fought bravely. the british were trying to defend euprope and their own skins from the fast growing nazi war machine. all sides fought extremely brave and and im not saying anything bad about either side but it wasnt a british german conflict that started the war. the british were pulled in tot he war due to nazi oppression

  • Nice!!! We just shot the promo video for my new reality show with that gun and we're thinking about shooting up some tanerite with it. I love your vid! Check mine out and let me know what you think.

  • 0:20 what a sound :-)

  • there germans then theres nazis...there diffrent

  • Your Grandfather is great Warrior, glad he's still alive. Long life to him. He went thru Hell. My Father is a WW II vet still alive, his War horrors are still with him. Great warriors to both.

  • My Grandfather was mg gunner at the

so called 10th Panzerdivison Frundsberg der Waffen SS.On the Mg 3 you can change fire rate.

  • Does that place still exist? I would like to go there.

  • the mg3, the 7.62NATO variant of the mg42 is still in use in many countries around the world. rate of fire is a bit better than 1200 rpm

  • actually, the Mg3 has a ROF of 1150 rounds per minute, give or take 100-150 rounds or so depending on how well maintained the weapon is and conditions, eg. Heat etc.

  • No 1200 rpm are to fast its got the german name "Munitionsschleuder"means its to fast for infantry so the german army no usig mg3 with 900 to 1000 rpm

  • Mg3 can go up to 1200 RPM.

  • yeah 1200RPM!

  • where do u buy ww11 weapons?

  • wow, world war eleven? your thinking FAR ahead! just kidding I know what your saying

  • My grandfather faught in WW28 and hes still alive lol

  • World War 28? Wow, that's impressive.

  • lmao

  • imagine taking that on a hunting trip into woods. bye bye deer

  • MP40 one of the better smgs of WW2, MG34 was expensive and jammed fairly easily, MG42 imho was and still is among the top 3 hmgs of all time, if not the best. Cheap, fairly reliable and 1200 rounds per minute (nearly twice as much as standard hmgs of the time.) made it the worst weapon any soldier had to look down the barrel of.

  • wow, you remind me of my friend who's also obsessed with world war 2. he once told me all that once.

  • mg42 isn't a hmg

  • it can be it depends on how it is set up

when the by pod is used it is lmg

when it is in a mound it is a hmg

the Germans used it a a general purpose gun

  • No, technically it isn't either, because of its capability of being used on an AA mount or in the squad role, and is also capable of sustained fire, it is a GPMG.

  • I've always thought of the mg34 as the first gpmg, belt fed for sustained fire, light enough to move forward with infantry etc. I may be wrong.

  • ah hem, 1,200 rounds per minute isn't a HMG? it was used in the 1940's remember?

  • no it isnt a HMG, if it was simply a HMG it wouldn't be based on its ROF either, nor is it on any other HMGs, but no the Mg42 isnt a HMG.....ah hem

  • That would shivers down my old granddad's spine. Superlative guns though.

  • looks like knob creek nice vid

  • Yes sir, you're right. From the 1980's. When showing up early could get you a spot on the firing line. There is a waiting list now that takes years to get a spot.

  • German guns still hold up today i have an mg 42 modified into semi automatic.

    Also i preffer my 65yo mp 43 to the M4 , AK47 and M16.

  • VIVA MP40

  • What a sweet sound. Unless on receiving end of course. Talk about a mow job. Great video.

  • i thought there was single fire option for mg42.

  • Not on any I've seen at the shoots. But could have been some made for German special op missions. Good question & maybe someone will let us know here, from a detailed research.

  • nope

  • It's a heavy machinegun what's the point? The point of machinegun is that it shoots a lot in a short time.

  • The mg34 had a single shot option however this feature was removed for the mg42

  • why does the mg34 sound like the .30 and the mg42 sound as it does?

  • The 34 has a closer rate of fire to the .30. The 42 has a 1200rpm rate/3 times faster than the .30. Also see below the reply to KABOOMER.

  • Sure if you can carry a 100 pound gun with ammo.

  • can someone please tell me the(if any)

differences between the MG-34 and the MG-42?

  • MG-34 is a finely machined weapon, more costly & time consuming to make.

MG-42 is stamped steel parts, more easily mass produced.

34 is in most common varients, select fire & fires 800-900 rpm. 42 full auto only, 1200rpm. Some 42 varients fire 1500-1800rpm. Their barrel shrouds & flash hiders are the main appearance difference, but there are more, too many for here.

  • For cyclic rates differences, check our video-MG-34 & MG-42 Shooting Side by Side.

  • k ty ill take a look

  • that looks like it back when you could actually find those for sale!

  • LOOKS LIKE A NORMAL WEEKEND 4 ME..!

  • looks like old videos from dry creek

  • MG34いい...

  • Very nice.

  • No, you'ed deafen too many innocent people!

  • oh, that 42 is wicked!

  • I don't have any full auto weapons but i do hve a world war two era Kar98 mauser i'm sure it would fit in the catagory of wwII weapons you guys were fireing.

  • Yes it does, a good pounding bolt gun.

  • Appreciate your comments, I refrain from argueing most of the time, but some deserve a verbal blast which is fun mostly. But will take your advice when I can. Would love to shoot with you & you enjoy your nice weapon 99 & thank your grandfather for serving.

  • Ah, these were the good, happy times before the 1986 FOPA turned class III firearms into a hobby solely for the rich.

  • It's funny that the criminals can get fully automatic guns but law biding citizens are banned from owning any. At least in California. What a joke!!

  • That's an easy 1.. California is full of commies that hate you ahahahaaa

  • I agree. It's vital that all citizens have access to fully automatic infantry support weapons so they can blow dynamite up.

  • It IS vital in America! So we can keep the rest of the world FREE!!!

  • when was this filmed lol

  • Do you laugh at WWII, Korea & Vietnam films cause they're so old. Or cameras bought by us working stiffs can't impress you like the high dollar cameras of the period, before affordable camcorders were invented. Some people have no respect for the older generation. It was 1981 funny guy, go bust your gut

  • I just uploaded some recent firing demos, check them out and let me know if anything should be changed... For the Sten there are 2 sounds, I need to know which of the 2 sound better. For the mp40 there are 3, I need to know on your honest opinion which sounds better.

  • Both videos in winter snow, sounded most accurate. The others sounded somewhat like weapons being fired in a large metal building. The blast of each round drowned out by the action of the reciprocating bolts & echos. Rounds fired should be louder.

  • MG-42 was at the end, sad so short :(

  • Or just look in my profile and watch "Call of Duty Sound Mod". I mainly want you to focus on the Mg34 and Mp40's sound, and give your opinion on it, if it's close to the real thing, accurate, or needs complete changing. I have other sounds from them, but I want them to sound like how they sound in this video, well because; I think they sound badass.

  • It is very close to the real thing. Good job. Don't know if you could do better, unless you filmed us firing live. Have you checked our other vids-MP-40 at end of "Girls Shooting MG's" & "MG's Shooting Cars"?

  • Yeah, I saw them. I've been studying guns and I concluded that about all 9mm guns sound the same, just different firing rates. I got the sound from a Sterling for the Mp40. I had to amplify it cause it was too low and it made it sound a bit distorted. But once I get my new "High End" recording mic, I can record them from my speakers, louder, and with precise quality.

  • Seems you're going to get it right soon. Do you make your own versions of Call of Duty or are you the original source of these games? Either way, you'd be welcome to go out shooting with us the next time we take out the MP-40. Travel distance to our area would be the natural hinderance...

  • Call of Duty is a game published by Acitivision made by Companies such as Infinity Ward, Gray Matter, and Treyarch. The original sounds for the game were way off from realism. So I making a sound modification with real gun sounds to put a more realism experiance. Oh and I would love to go to the range but my mother is very strict on traveling; so most-likely I won't make it.

  • K, understand, game sounds like some War movies dub weapons firing unrealistic. Only being there with the weapons does it all justice. Not everyone can experience it, unfortunately.

  • Well I'm making a upcoming Sound Mod; and I compiled recent sounds; here's the link youtube(dot)com/watch?v=vXSwSta21D0 of the video, take a look and let me know if it's accurate, close, or wrong. Some of the sounds I had to mix myself to get to what the gun what it sounds most-like, from what I heard.

  • I don't know why... but for some reason I love this video. Is this what they really sound like... or is the camera really drowning the sound? I know it's a bad camera, but is it actually picking up the real sound but not in "Perfect" Quality?

  • The sound is the real sound & survived intact, this is what these weapons really sounded like that day. Even though I agree, not "perfect" quality. The range location makes for some awsome sound bouncing, echos so to speak. Do you notice them? Also unbeleiveable is the MP-40 hitting a stick of dynamite. Also hit was 50 sticks at the finale, by a tommygun at 300 yards, lucky it was, but not caught on video.

  • Meh, I'm looking for a Good Mp40 sound for a game; I got the sound of the mp40, but I really don't think it sounds right for the game. I'm looking for a good quality sound, heard like the one in this video.

  • Can you tell me if there was any other German machine guns from both world wars there? And how much did that gun cost?

  • These shoots are held twice a year. In the search bar type in "Knob Creek". You'll find many videos of their shoots. Many types of MG's of all Wars & even a Civil War Gatling Gun, fires there. Don't know what each person paid for their MG's. You can search the various MG web sites for price ranges.

  • How the hell are you getting these guns?!?!/

  • We purchased them legally, as any law abiding citizen of the U.S. can, from a registered machinegun dealer. You must undergo fingerprinting, FBI background check, file all proper paperwork & have it signed by your local law enforcement & be approved by the ATF. Plus pay a $200.00 "Tax Stamp" on each weapon. Several hundreds of thousands are owned by U.S citizens. You can check it yourself with the ATF, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (NFA Branch)

  • Well I liked it it add's some sound to the war stories my Great Uncle told me he used the mg34&42 but not the mp44.Thanks

  • Nice video, thank you for sharing. :)

  • You're welcome, glad you liked

  • I wish I lived in a country that allowed full-auto weapons for civilian use. :(

  • Sad, but politics does inhibit this elsewhere. There are many here, who don't have any business owning these or any weapon. Owning MG's is a big responsibility, to safe guard them from falling in the wrong hands. Or use them illegally. The authorities know where every legally registered weapon is located & will confiscate it & throw you in prison for any mis-conduct with it.

  • 7arsehle6 i digwhat u say bro im auzzie but GOD BLESS AMERICA

  • Jeeze, I wish I had one of those things. I mean, 1200 RPM (MG-42, of course.) must be somethin' when you're the one pulling the trigger...

  • Yes it is a thrill. It can become addicting, shooting MG's gives you a rush & helps release tension.

  • I second that idea - a controlled mayhem similar to your clip is a great way to releasing stresses from the office....

But like all drugs, it get expensive - especially ammo price had been going up of late. :)

  • You are correct. As in drugs, if you need them as prescribed, don't allow yourself to get hooked. In shooting these expensive weapons, you try to only buy surplus ammo in 1000 round lots of military surplus. Then, don't go shooting every day. Just ocassionally, then blast away what you can afford. If you rub the dog too often, he ends up biting you. If one has a weakness for addictions, stay away from either drugs or MG's. Good points for discussion, you've made.

  • That looks like way too much fun. The only downside I can see of owning an mg-42/43 is the expense of feeding it. If you don't mind me asking, what does an afternoon of fun at the range cost in terms ammo? And, what does an mg42 or mg34 cost? I

  • Can cost many dollars. Possibly hundreds, depending what you have, take & can afford. If you buy 8mm military surplus ammo in bulk ammount, can keep costs to minimum. 34's & 42's can range from $25,000 to $35,000. Search the MG web sites for current prices.

  • isnt that really really ileagal

  • This shoot is under the perview of law enforcement agencies that control automatic weapons & dynamite use. There are law enforcment control officers present at these events.

  • i go to knob creek every year!!!!

  • sweet...
