oh no...im sorry, nothing personal, but too much hip swinging, landing on the toes instead of the whole foot and just way too much movement overall...only the calves should move here..
My guru made me do 1 tattadavu entire class to get it right with proper araimandi & stiff ,still upper body. I agree with all the comments on araimandi & posture. I believe the intention of the person was good though. But not ready 2 start teaching yet. While passing on knowledge is a noble thought it also comes with a responsibility of passing on the right knowledge. Those trying 2learn please follow nandananjali's posts. Those are better & have good basics for a foundation. Good luck!
She is doing a thattadavu but really not doing it very well. The movement arc traced by the heel of your foot should go backwards and all the way to point to the gluteus max of the opposite leg. It should then return in the same arc like fashion back to strike the ground. Its esp evident in the first speed.
ya...no aramandi...she is doing thattadavu n saying syllables of nattadavu....she puts her feet little forward n backward while doin the movements as she is not doing in aramandi...
anualags you correct, i don't know wt kind of adavu she is doing, well i think she doesn't know properly.... if she is the teacher then think ABT poor students....
Ya...her posture is incorrect and her moviments of legs also absolutely incorrect, she is bringing the knees up while doing the moviment and also bending at sides. No aramandi...:)
yea, she ends up just standing. we need some good demo videos on this site! and you should say the syllables. with my previous teacher i never did, but all my teachers since have insisted on it.
Hello pushpanjali... thanks for ur comments , any way i dosn't mean like that, if i hurt you then am really sry...as a dancer u shd not tell adavu as excercises... that s reason , i wrote like that sry forgive me....any way which style of dance u learn i mean BN...

A few things that I noticed besides what Nritya Sankalpa pointed out are:
1) Aramandi is almost non-existent
2) body should not sway
3) there should be no shifting of weight between legs while doing the adavu

And yes! she is saying the chollu for nattu adavus. The chollu for tattu adavus are Taiya Tai

What is she saying, she is doing the nattaadavu sollkattu!!! Her stamping is totally disastrous she doesnt lift n fold but smacks her feet!!!!
Her Aramandi id also absolutely bad!!!
hitzyness1 4 years ago
excuse me if i am mistaken, but i think she is saying the naatadavu sollukatu for the thattadavu!
umi414 4 years ago
Probably, because we don't say those syllables when we do these excercises in my class.
Her aramandi isn't very pronounced either.

hello pushpanjali, are you dancer, its not call exercises.. its call adavu ok, first u learn properly ok, best of luck
chutham 4 years ago
I know that they are called Adavus. I called them excercises because this is how we warm up in the beginning of my class.
No need for you to be nasty, first you should learn some manners.
