  • Very well done on the restore ,Im looking at doing one for my son ,as they are a great bike that was built to last

  • smack a bitch? bet your popular with the ladies

  • @MoiX1970 yes i am

  • when u see dirt u know what u need to do-----------u need to smack a bitch

  • 0:38-0:40, is that Ilkley?

  • @chunkyfecalbreakfast - It sure is :-)

  • @MoiX1970 I pinched two inner tubes on those sodding curb stones they've laid across the road (on a pedal bike). Is it legal to take motorvehicles up there? I'd like to take my bike now I've got one.

  • @chunkyfecalbreakfast - Its perfectly legal 4 wheels or 2 unless the laws that be have changed its classification in recent years. I doubt this though as its still called Keighley Gate Road and suspect those curb stones are more to prevent the road slipping away than vehicles getting up there. Once you get to top as you know doubt know, its tarmac on the otherside into Keighley.

  • @MoiX1970 Yeah I came in the Keighley side on a ride out and there was a bloke in a Mitsi 4x4 coming the other way who gave us a guilty look like he shouldn't be there hence my question, good news, maybe he wasn't sure either lol. Gorebeck Road isn't far from there, near Malham Tarn, that's not a bad one but has a lot of gates. Cheers very much for your replies.

  • que capo loco es una verdadera nave te felicito muy buen trabajo! espetacular el tablero saludos desde argentina!

  • tthank you and the motobike see beatiful , is amazing the transform yeaaaaaaaaa

  • please which is tha band and tha song

  • @pichanakiful - Its White Stripes, 1st song Seven Nation Army and second is Hardest Button to Button from Elephant album

  • Bike looks wicked mate, wish i still had mine!

  • Great work, looks great. What did the rebuild cost ?

  • @Stratau - far too much

UK priced oem parts for the engine side of things would have been £800 or thereabouts, think i saved £250 after import taxes by buying from the US. Honda UK take note ;-)

  • Why couldn't you have kept the original painel? bikes like that are great, but if you modernize them, you kill their personality, you know what I'm saying? anyway my point is: Do not modernize a bike, respect her the way she is, if you didn't like her's original way buy another that pleases you, got it? for the good of the classical bikes I sure hope you really got it

  • @peperboy1000: Did you watch the whole video? the panels ARE the originals simply cleaned up and as they're a bit of a lack of original graphics I went my own way with those which might not be to your taste but its not exactly a tacky scheme and not far off some other oem Honda XR graphics.

PS I sold the bike and made a decent profit so the buyer obviously liked what I'd done

  • bike looks wicked mate take no notice its ur bike bought with ur own money so why not an it dosnt look far off origional anyways u got aan old tatty bike an gave it a new lease of life spot on mate peperboy if you really have a thing for old classics you probly dont want to hear that im picking up an old xr 250 an turning it into my stunt bike hahaha

  • niceeeeeee...... i want one ... =) btw what is the second song ?

  • @xXjulimanXx

1st song is Seven Nation Army, 2nd song is The Hardest Button to Button both by White Stripes

  • what song thiss???

  • Good music!!! But great Bike... a fried are selling one like it! but now thatr i see your video i thing that i will buy it!!! Its a really nice motrcicle!!! THKS

  • sick rebuild man

  • nice flick mate, bike came up shmick, how good is that speedo u got on it? i half thought of gettin 1 for my 400

  • So what music would you have used?

  • that is not an xr250R it is i think a 1994 honda xr250L

  • @gangsterbryce your wrong. Its got an aftermarket headlight and lighting kit fitted which possibly explains you thinking I don't know what bike I owned

  • What the crap is this lame ass music?,God Please,Oh no,Please get it off of here,

It sucks worse than ive ever known possible,Oh No,Im puking all over my keyboard,

Some one please execute the low life scum sucking vermin that could dare utter such ear poison,Help,Im going deaf and stupid from hearing this garbage,Help

  • @NAMTRIP get a life at least its not some retards excuse for music like 99% of R&B and Rap you find on most vids that like to pretend to be "cool"

  • @MoiX1970 The video is great,I love bikes,and own 2 XRs right now,but the music,is crap,pure crap.

  • Brilliant job! well done!

  • Noob question, How do you take the seat off on a 94? Reply please.

  • muy groso trabajo , felicitaciones

  • i like what u did i own a one of the 1985 xr250r that ballard did up for racing anyway how do you get your guards so clean give my a message on how plzs

  • nice vid.

  • How to clean the gas tank to make it original target?

  • @hemerodriguez - not great english but I guess you mean how to clean the gast tank up to make it nice and white again? I used t-cut paint rubbing compounds to get the worst of the grim off it, then finished off with whatever i could find...think I used degreaser, wd40 then a final wash.

  • haha youre funny, hey thats AMAZING!!!! I just bought an XR250R, a valve got bent, so I took it inside and stripping it for some paintjob and fresh up, I dont know If Im gonna tear EVERYTHING apart, but hmm.... it looks so good when you clean like the swing arm and such, are you using some acid or something? how the heck did the parts turned like NEW looking??? we stay in touch mate, I will upload a video of my bike soon.... cheers from Sweden! Olle

  • @ollecarlsson no acid, just used degreaser (GUNK), stiff brushes and iirc a bit of wirewool to get it as clean as possible. It wasn't perfect as pics usually don't show everything, but good enough

  • nice rebuild, I would be scared to take it riding now haha.

  • hi i bought the bike and its great its ilke riding a new bike since owning the bike i have polished everthing so it is better than new

  • not THE bike surely given your location is down as Namibia and the guy I sold it too was local to me in Yorkshire ;-)

  • Very nicely done!5 stars

  • Just 1 question, how much did it cost for all items powder coated?

  • Think it was just under £200 but I use a place with a good reputation for doing the job to the highest standard and suspect it can be done for less but wasn't prepared to take the risk on a shoddy job.

This doesn't seem to let me type urls so try googling triple-s (in the UK) and you'll find them. They're in west yorkshire.

  • Thanks for the reply, i've seen Triple S advertised in Classic Motorcycle Mechanics & I know the magazine used them before. Looks like this is the company to go for cos you're right in what you say about a risk of a shoddy job. Thanks fella :)

  • want it want it want it :D 1st class job m8

  • got exact same bike. mines been rebuilt also but not for looks. what heppened was when i was rideing the oil drain plug came out and well lets say it was not running right for 3 hours. so 3,000 dollars later it was bored out new piston rings valves cam chain. then it was running great for like 10 hours when the engine seized so we took it back to the place we had it fixed and i guss the cam chain tensioner came loose and the piston came up and crushed the valves so another 500$ and now it runs

  • @predxene

and with your 3500 you could have bought a 1996 and up XR.

But I would love to rebuild my 86 also:P

honda xr are the best bikes !

  • Maybe you should have removed the cylinder head and checked for cracks between the spark plug hole and the exhaust valves. That model XR250 was notorious for cracked cylinder heads. The XR250 96-04 model was much better.

  • wow what patience!

  • very nice job!

  • I was thinking about doing that but being as I am only 16 I don't have much money. I was wondering if you could give me a ball park of what it costed you.

    Thanks,

    Matt.

  • im only 15 ? (: turn 16 day after christmas .. xD but .. you just need a job and then you can build it up d;

  • Nice Bike, I can really say you took your time and and it looks amazing

  • hey how hard was it to install the trail tech vapor

  • Nice video, and top job on the rebuild mate....

  • Nice one mate, I had the same bike and was rebuilding until some scrotes nicked it!!

  • nice ass bike i had a old xr200r but the timing was thrown so i reset the time then the cdi went out so i sold it for 100 dollars

  • nice bike

  • Nice work! I'm looking to find either an XR250R or 250L this summer/fall and rebuilding in a similar fashion over the winter.

  • hey whats the top RPM of an XR 250r??

i saw 9000 and somethin but can you tell me the very top

  • Great job! I like the tach and speedo. Where did you get it? I have a 2000 XR 250R and wouldn't mind upgrading the speedo. You should put some good knobby tires on it....:)

  • nice job

  • do these have electric start>>>??

  • neope

  • sweet bike, i'm planing on buying an xr250r, this video just gets my blood pumpin'

  • why didnt you make it street legal too?

  • nice job, but i cant help thinking you could have got a very low mileage xr250 for £1500..? some enduro tyres would make your bike look even better

  • hey man nice work. looks amazing, i really like the black frame and graphics. how did you wire in the rpm gauge

  • Thanks. I wired the black rpm pickup wire into the loom (soldered) as there was a green (iirc) earth wire under the tank. The red wire at first I wrapped 5-6 times around the plug lead but that gave erratic revs over 3000rpm so emailed trailtech for help and they suggested running it straight along the plug lead for approx 2cm and secure with tape and thats done the business.

  • hey man nice work. looks amazing, i really like the black frame and graphics. how did you wire in the rpm gauge? I,m 14 and i bought my first bike in jan 08 and rebuilt it.

  • how did you buy your bike and how much did it cost!!! thats awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :)

  • Realistically......what do you think the final cost was? I have an 88 XR250R ($850.00 runs good, needs a little work)that if it doesn't get sold to someone soon, I might keep and re-build it too.

  • Biggest cost to me was the powder coating which set me back £120 for the frame and another £50 for the engine cases (about $300) but I do pay over the odds slightly with the place i use but they always do a perfect job and use good quality powder. Other than that its mainly spray paints, degreases and elbow grease if you can resist spending on extras like renthal bars (my oem one would have looked fine resprayed) & the Vapour dash.

  • Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I already replaced my bars with moose Handlebars and bar risers, comfort diffrence is amazing. The control is a ton better too. I'd recommend it.

  • Nice job mate, you don't fancy doing the same to my XR400? :)

  • Good Job Fella...

  • Not bad, it'll look ok with a polish

  • Nice job man.
