None of the adventure games or Sonic heroes topped the market like back in the 1990's, true - But a lot of people still remember them as very good games. Sonic colors had an average score of 8,5 from the critics and everyone in the business agreed that this was a new start. Sonic Generations was recieved as a step back to the glory days. You two just don't have the crowd with you.

And I never played colors, but from how planet wisp was in generations, I don't want to play it. Sonic doesn't need to have power-UPS and special powers like Mario to make a good game. Colors (although arguably being a decent game) was still Sega using gimmicks to get Sonic back on the mainstream like Black Knight, and Unleashed.

Classic Sonic is arguably a gimmick. And the power-ups actually add to the game, while the sword in BK had no function and basically just let you do a normal homing attack with a sword photoshopped in. Also, they do not take up two thirds of the game like the werehog. Argument invalid.

The people who didn't like SC are in the same vein of a minority as the people who like Sonic 06. I'm gonna guess that your "sonic obsessed friends" played Sonic 06 before Sonic Colors. If so, that explains it. I was blissfully unaware of Sonic 06's existence until after Colors, so that may be why our opinions differ. And there is absolutely no way they could have bought reviews from every gaming site out there, it would have been exposed. Also, you liked Shadow but hated Colors? I have no response to that. And Generations is amazing, you can't deny that.
