The Tau ship is an Emissary class cruiser.

The imperial ship is a Dictator Class.

The battle fleet gothic stats are as thus:

Emissary - 4 hull points, 2 turrets, 2 shields, 3 weapons batteries and 4 torpedoes

Dictator - 8 hull points, 3 turrets, 2 shields, 6 weapons batteries on port and starboard, 6 torpedoes, and 4 launch bays.

Tau ships also half their boarding value.

So it's 2 + 2 + D6 for Emissary, and 8 + D6 for the Dictator.

Imperial player must have rolled a 1.

I think that's a Manta. Small cruiser/large atmospheric troop transport which can transport up to or over several hundred fire warriors I believe. And honestly, the ONLY reason the Tau could even begin to be considered the last hope of the universe is because their brains can't comprehend the warp. Not yet, anyway.

Hell, they probably don't even realize the full scope and power of the Imperium yet, nor of the Tyranids or Orks or Chaos. Or the Void Dragon, Emperor help them all if it wakes up.

I am quite sure that the imperial ship in this video is a Dictator class. Which is a cruiser that is a carrier. It's just too small to be a emperor class and there is no justifiable way for an emissary to survive a boarding action with a battleship.

@Lathox if you look closely at it you will notice that it has 2 luanch bay segments and one weapon battery segment on each side of the ship and only battleships have that many segments on each side.

And I don't think they where aiming that hard for being thruthfull to the fluff and stuff when they made the game, it might even be a ship class they just made up for the game.

1 take out the life support

2 destroy the engines and board the ship

That Tau ship could have been destroyed in one of three ways:

1. Blasted to oblivion with the sheer fire power that the Imperial ship has.

2. Fried to a crisp by that ship's MASSIVE thrusters.

3. Get rammed and split in two by a ship with superior armour and shielding.

BUT INSTEAD OF DOING ONE OF THE THREE, THEY SIMPLY LET THEMSELVE'S GET BOARDED.

No, they were spear chuckers for a few hundred years. They got their level of tech in 4000. What most Tau-tards won't tell you is that the Tau are only where they are at because the Eldar made the Ethereals to mind control the Tau populace with their pheromones, which is the only reason the Tau weren't wiped out by the Imperium once Tau'va was found.

Even with Eldar help, the Tau fleet is basically a bunch of pretty rowboats.

Look up old documentaries like "Victory At Sea" and you'll see plenty of them, usually the U.S. Navy's quad-gun mount. The Bofors was always a favorite of mine in those old films, not too big, not too small, just enough to kick your ass out of the sky.

I played it for like, part of the first mission. I put aside my distrust over it being a PS2-to-PC port in light of the fact that it's, y'know, Warhammer 40,000. Well it sucked anyways. I found it mildly interesting, I couldn't get past that damned Valkyrie because nothing could kill it and it killed me almost instantly. Which is realistic (a Fire Warrior should not be able to take out a Valkyrie on his own) but stupid, because they should have at least given an escape route.

You can try to use some cover. The vulnerable spot of that thing are the 2 engines besides the cockpit. Needs lots of ammo, but it´s doable. YOur next "boss", a few levels later, will be a bit more realistic (and still badass!).

It was dreadfully average and neither brought anything new nor lived up to its outstanding setting. It wasn't so much bad as it was a let down. The fans had been begging for a good 40k FPS where you play as a Space Marine, Eldar or Ork for years and the first 40k game out since Chaos Gate is a $40 advertisement for a brand new army for the tabletop game.
