Valid points by all, I only wish that time was taken to figure out the meaning of the song.. the concept behind it. Then, and only then, may the true spirit of ASL be understood
churches dont use exact asl they have different signs from the asl sign for words they use more c sign for signs that have more than one meaning so that way it keeps up with the music
It's not even that they are using different signs. Its a whole different language (concept). Signed English is pretty much signing word for word what is being said while ASL takes the main points/meanings of the sentence and relays that. I only know maybe 50 words in sign, and can keep up a VERY BASIC conversation (with a lot of fingerspelling), and I can tell the difference.
I really want to start learning ASL and Signed English again. It's fun and it opens so many doors and barriers. :)
I am wondering why you have ASL written by the song name on your video? It wasn't done in ASL at all it was done in Signed English. ASL is a type of language so it should be in that format otherwise it's misleading. If do another that's done in English, put "Signed in English" helps Deaf people to know what to expect since it's to minister to them.
do it in a tutorial the ppl singing is disstractring
