@egrewing74 you are sooooooooooooooo right in all your ambivalence surrounding faith hill as a performer...she's, at best, mediocre as a singer. i like her too, but she her voice, especially in terms of the amount of control she has over it, is not the best in the game. she is, however, an excellent "prop" for the nashville/country music machine. i'm not saying that i don't like her either, but she is very much apart of a manufactured system to keep people spending money on music...

This woman is Phenomenal. Drop dead gorgeous, a voice of an angel, a terrific mother and faithful wife. No wonder her parent's named her Faith. She certainly has enough to go around for everyone..How can you not love someone who is all these thing's. She's Heaven sent..
I love Faith Hill - she's got such an amazing talent and this song never fails to give me goose bumps, like... all over! Wild Frontier does the same except that one always makes me shed a tear too, at the point of "Through gravel and ice and new fallen snow". She's a true artist!

Well, be prepared for the King of kings and Lord of lords who is coming soon. Search the book in Google or Barnes and Noble or Amazon: "Complete Assurance to Enter into Heaven." This book has a great reason to prepare you for the season for your eternity.
In 2001, she was named one of the "30 Most Powerful Women in America" by Ladies Home Journal. In 2008, Faith Hill released her first Christmas album, titled Joy to the World.
Faith and Tim have real jobs, just not 9 to 5 like you or anyone else. their job is entertaining us and I love it. she is gorgeous and so is her husband. and they are both Baptist Christians. they both grew up in church.
@myrarobinson42, Good to see you on here, a Faith 'friend' too. Do you watch the Country Award shows? They are not as enjoyable to me since Faith hasn't been on them. She owned those shows @ 11 to 6yrs ago. She was Country's 'Sweetheart', I don't like how she was dropped like that. I also think she was robbed of Entertainer of the Year, not even a nomination back then.
@myrarobinson42, Faith had a sold out tour, was on countless magazines, sang at Grammys, Oscars, VH-1 Honors, had her own holiday special, was in a movie, TV show, she was everywhere, and not even a nomination for the top award. That's just wrong. At least Taylor recognizes how Faith made it easier for younger singers, even mentioning her when she received the top prize.
@myrarobinson42 As long as they continue to give all the credit to God for everything they have they are fine by me. :) I have often wondered who actually wrote this song.. anyone?
are professional singing stars "real" people? How many times must you hear a song before you know every word? And don't they make money off exploiting the ordinary working class.
@bumphilosopher sure they are real people, they just choose to be entertainers and sell records and they just like being around people and entertaining them. that is their chosen profession. Tim had a lot of jobs growing up and he grew up poor. his family were even on food stamps and now he gives back to the people where he grew up.
@jgibbs13 , and what does that mean, the food stamps thing is overdone. he never heard about his dad until he was 11 and then never actually met him for years after that and his father really didn't want to acknowledge him for along time. I know this to be true. his Mom raised him and 2 sisters on her own. she held down 2 jobs to get by. all this information was on tv. he was on food stamps, that is a fact.
@bumphilosopher are professional singing stars real people, what a stupid question, they are not robots. of course they are real, they chose entertainment as their careers and there are many of them.

Remember this admonition of the Lord: Touch not the unclean thing; and I WILL RECEIVE YOU, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Cor.6:17,18
I can see why Reba denied her to be in her backup years back.. Reba didn't want to be out down.... My favs Are Faith Reba Martina & Shania those women are GREAT. The reason why I love to sing.
Martina, Faith, LeAnn, Reba, Shania are the ones that make me love country music. No country music, without their voices. I love them, respect them, and listen to them and never get tired of them. Best voices of the world.
It may not be her best performance but yet she's amazing and top notch as always. This is an incredibly difficult song to pull of and, considering how loudly she had to sing, this one is still an excellent performance. Maybe I'm not being objective here since I love Faith to death but I think that all of her "worst" performances are way way way better than the best ones from a lot of other singers.
lentilovski, I agree with you. Faith Hill has been my fav artist for 12 yrs. I've also enjoyed Martina, Shania, Trisha Yearwood and others. It's a shame they are no longer featured at the country award shows. They are 40+yrs old, and it seems like the country music world doesn't care about them anymore. So glad there are other fans on here who PREFER these gals, not just those who are in the spotlight and winning awards today.
faith hill, Tim mcgraw, shania twain, and martina mcbride, ....... country artists who are not respected as much as they should be at the CMA awards... fatih hill.. can sing taylor swift off the stage.
DevynVL, I agree with you and others on here. I've noticed the country awards are geared to newer artists, or top sellers. The others no longer win, then no longer get nominated. Most of those are over 40yrs old. I stopped enjoying country awards for that reason. I don't think anyone is a better singer than Martina McBride, and Trish Yearwood is another huge talent. Faith has done so much for country music. I missed her at the award shows, they weren't the same to me without Faith Hill.
@DevynVL I agree with you. I think it's nonsense that her husband has never won the ACM Entertainer of the Year award, although he got it from the CMAs in 2001. So what if he conquered Hollywood? He said acting was a ball, but he is never giving up music. He should have won the ACM EOTY in 2007, when he sang "If You're Readin' This" because the Soul2Soul II Tour was the most successful tour in country history.
Its sad artists like Shania and Faith are not appreciated more in Country music and in Nashville as they are the artists who attracted me to country music in the first place. Before them, I didn't know one thing about Country music. They brought a whole new audience into Country music and should get the respect and appreciation from the music insiders in Nashville that they deserve.
AWESOME POWERFUL MESSAGE! Gave me chills and tears the first time I saw it one tv and it still does! It's my favorite Faith Hill song of all time!! Sing it GIRL!!!!!
I love this song. It's my favorite from Faith's 'Breathe' CD, and I rem her performing it for the benefit on TV(I think Red Cross) after 9/11/01, what a perfect choice then.
wow...I've heard her name but this is the first time I see her and one of her videos..she is awesome and the lyrics and everything...and she is so pretty..sometime we thing that beautiful people like her are ment to be models or something like that but she actually sings spiritual songs!!! Praise God!!! you go girl...!!! bless you!
The first time I heard this song was on 9/11, after the towers collapsed. Every year as a remembrance of those who perished, I play this song by Faith Hill. And I still cry just as hard as I did the first time I heard it.
I dont think anyone can outdo Faith, especially when it comes to singing a spiritual song. she is a southern baptist christian and began singing in church when she was 4.
I think dolittle is good, but I think she oversings this song. she puts too much into it that is not necessary. Faith is a pro and knows about oversinging. Faith does a beautiful job on this and that is why she got an award. she knows her stuff.
I'm not a Faith Hill follower. I linked to this song from Melinda Doolittle's AI version. I must say I can see why Faith is a star. She can really sing! Add to that her stunning beauty and you have the whole package. That's it. I just wanted to post the compliment.
The first time I ever saw/heard Faith Hill was when she performed this song on the "Tribute To Heroes" telecast. I was blown away by her beautiful, powerful voice. This is an even better clip, in terms of technical quality. Who are the three female background singers? They're amazing! Were the folks in choir gowns also singing?
Sometimes I just put this on repeat it really means alot to me. Just got the ringtone for my phone too if u want it check it out at DownloadEveryTone . com #varialbes#
WOW!!! I LOVE THIS SONG!!! GOD BLESS YOU FAITH HILL!!!!

I can see why Reba denied her to be in her backup years back.. Reba didn't want to be out down.... My favs Are Faith Reba Martina & Shania those women are GREAT. The reason why I love to sing.

I hope Faith Hill, with her powerful voice and beauty, can get this message to people.

Martina, Faith, LeAnn, Reba, Shania are the ones that make me love country music. No country music, without their voices. I love them, respect them, and listen to them and never get tired of them. Best voices of the world.

Horrible performance. She can sing some songs but needs even more back ground singers in this song. Her Looks I guess makes up for average voice

DevynVL 2 years ago 14
DevynVL, I agree with you and others on here. I've noticed the country awards are geared to newer artists, or top sellers. The others no longer win, then no longer get nominated. Most of those are over 40yrs old. I stopped enjoying country awards for that reason. I don't think anyone is a better singer than Martina McBride, and Trish Yearwood is another huge talent. Faith has done so much for country music. I missed her at the award shows, they weren't the same to me without Faith Hill.

@DevynVL hell fucking yeah, taylor swift will never be as good as faith!
mcgrawgal 10 months ago
@DevynVL She sure can mate. Faith would wipe the floor with many of taday's artists.
acco1840 9 months ago

They brought a whole new audience into Country music and should get the respect and appreciation from the music insiders in Nashville that they deserve.

same here as me i only started listening to country due to Shania as well then faith and it was all i needed to get me to listen also,

depends on the state of their soul, for some there will be a day, most probably not.

I love this song. It's my favorite from Faith's 'Breathe' CD, and I rem her performing it for the benefit on TV(I think Red Cross) after 9/11/01, what a perfect choice then.

I think Taylor Looks SO much like Faith! her personality even reminds of Faith to! I think she has a very bright future!

FaithHillisthebest2, I agree that Taylor looks, and acts, so much like a younger Faith. She sounds like her and has the same very sweet personality.

I just appreciate a more spiritual performance of the song...not so professional and staged as the pro you say she is.
ernestco111 2 years ago
dolittle is better
ernestco111 2 years ago
