  • When I first clicked on this I thought to mysef "fail" but wow!

You can actually see the surface oil speeding towards the rollers.

    Great invention!

  • in a perfect enviroment.it may work..

lets see some real life testing....thanks

  • @aceyorba - This video was actually taken at a job site, not a test scenario. We have other videos in our library that show our skimmers and pumps working in response scenarios as well.

  • send about 2000 of these to BP..

  • Just a comment ...

I do not think that the screw pump is the best option, but a pneumatic pump. Screw pump can not run dry, is not recommended for water, have risk of solids entering the pump, need a hidraulic system. All problems that bad operators do not prevent. A example, a diaphragm pump is lighter, explosion proof, submersible, and can run dry and only need a hose air. But, believe it is a system that should be used in special cases.

  • Thanks for your comments, we do indeed offer our skimmers with diaphragm pumps however in some cases we need pumps that can handle more viscous materials at higher flow rates.

    Regards Elastec

  • OK, perfect.

  • whats it doing

  • It is an oil skimmer that floats on the surface of the oil/water. As the drums rotate it picks up the oil off the surface of the water, and the pump transports it to a holding tank.
