yea. u dont have the DVD rom. u need the DVD, not the CD. the CD is for music.

the slide tool will NOT mess up your ps2 if done correctly. if your swapping for guitar hero 2 customs, look at my video, its easier than swap magic

dvd+rw's don't work with this believe me I tried. I thinks dvd-r's are supposed to work. Just thought I'd put this out there most + media and rw's don't read on a ps2. your best bet is cd-r/dvd-r (dual layer for big games) good luck!

Hey. I have used the slide card on my 50001 concole. Playing smackdown vs raw my friend got me hooked to. After a while things become hard for the game. such as sound skip, slow game loading, strange noises. So I am thinking of using a flip top cover. I have it but the place I bought it from sent me the wrong one when I wanted one for my 30001 10 screw sonsole. The V9 console needs repairs. the V3 console needs a new eject/reset rebbon like cable. ugh. I do have some burnt games.

quick question. when u unhook the mechanism does it make the disk stop spinning, meaning the noise to listen for when you put it back is sound of the disk spinning? or do you just hear a click?

dunno. i just hear like a whirring kinda noise which might be the disc. but either way you should feel a tiny bit of resistance when sliding it back and forth when you catch onto it.

the cover? you mean the whole thing or the front of the tray? the whole thing you have to take out those rubber things on the bottom and unscrew all of the 8 screws or w.e. For the front of the tray i dont know if there is a legit way of taking it off or not. i had to pry it off.

Because you don't have the appropriate tools. You need a hardware mod such as magic keys or a fliptop or even a home mod where you use some item to cover the 3 lasers in the disc tray, AND you need Swap Magic of the appropriate region.

No i'm not lying. I have a fliptop for my fat ps2 and Swap Magic 3.6 USA so I can play IIDX Distorted, a Japanese region game.

Just to let you know, using the Flip Top is much better for your ps2. Using a slide card can mess with the gears and other internal stuff.

makes sense. i really havent used it that much. i thought i ruined my mechanism that makes the tray go in and out because it wouldnt pop out anymore. little did i know i needed to slide the little white thingy inside back to the left. so i ended up buying a modified ps2. so i just have this one sitting in my room collecting dust. but then after buying it, i figured out how to fix it...T_T

A fliptop is better though. Slide cards may be cheaper but they kill the motor easily. Fliptop you dont even have to press your eject button putting a non-import game in. Just have it off or on stand by and open the lid put the game in and it runs fine.

I've been talking to a person who has the slide card and has been using it for a while and his PS2 runs just fine. The fliptop only works for the slim ps2 and the ps2 v4 through v10 =] So I think for the people who dont have ps2 slim or the ps2 v4 through v10, the slide card is a good choice just as the fliptop =DD The only difference of the fliptop is that you dont reset the ps2 when you open it, so the slide card isnt needed^^ I hope this helps anyone who has questions XD

not sure exactly. but maybe its just that your too afraid that you might accidently breeak something. but im not 100% sure what you are encountering and how much tension your talking about. all i know is that when you slide it to the right, then you pull the tray out towards you.

im not exactly sure what you are saying, but if your talking about pushing the open button while the disc is running, it'll reset the console.

if your talking about why i took the front cover off, it is because the slide card wont work unless if that is taken off.

you have to extract the files from the disc onto the computer and make a backup folder for them. you could also download iso's of games and then burn it onto a dvd r.
