Hi Amy- Gross national happiness is a wonderful concept- share wealth, live modestly... but Bhutan is also under a scrutinizing eye for ethnic cleansing which has strong implications that one group of people is grossly suffering due to the desire of a multi marriage royal family to cast out those who they believe are not pure enough to live in Bhutan. Over 100,000 people have been sent out or left in fear and are now living in refugee camps.
why has it taken so long to figure this out..it seems a very simple formula.. that hinges on meditation.. without this it is difficult to imagine countries around the world adopting the whole program..
thus meditation must be understood as the primary source of happiness around which economic developments play.
buddhism has been around for over 2500 years?
i suspect a major backlash by capitalists if this were ever to be economic policy in the west..
Yeah, you are absolutely right. A country can be wealthy only if the well-being of the people is looked after very carefully. And that's exactly what Bhutan is implying to do, which is getting on quite well in achieving this goal. Nice video but it could have much better if it was bit longer.
Hi, before I mention anything, you are a very beautiful woman with very charming smile.
Well, you got it right. This simple phrase "Gross National Happiness is better than Gross National Product" has been grossly overlooked by the developed nations until recently they have started introspecting their approaches to development.
May the countries around the world adopt this noble development philosophy and restore peace and harmony in their country and the region.
I know what is happiness looking at you!!!
