  • Was at the Show,Mono opening for Pelican, and i can tell you, they Killed pelican. One of the best Concerts i ever saw.

  • Okey this is just what I think, mono > pink floyd.

  • i hope they com to holland i love to se tham live :)

    very good band :D

    Cheers!

  • Anyone who has ever had the privilege of sharing a few words with Mono will surely agree that they are talented, friendly, humble musicians.

  • @fueledbyaimon did U? lucky ass ^u^

  • @fueledbyaimon I agree, they are the greatest band I met so far! not only that their music is mind-blowing but they are so humble that you feel they've known you before.

  • This song is a story of how the world ends. A build up to absolute carnage followed by a peaceful aftermath of nothingness.

  • best band ive seen in my entire life. and honestly the coolest people you could ever meet. My brother asked Yoda what they do that prevents them from breaking thier strings. The guitarist on the left then said in very choppy english "We dont strum heavy". hahaha

  • обожаю их ;)

  • neurosis would beat this band any day hands down.i like what they do but there far away from being unique.

  • I've seen Mono every time they came to Montréal, and they never disappointed me!!! I'm in this video!!

  • Fucking great!! Music from the soul!

  • Fucking great!! Music with soul!!

  • Those two guitarists are my idols.Amazing Headbangers.Amazing Guitarists. The one on the rights is playing what looks like a Fender Jazzmaster (or Jag) - best guitar around. The girl is pretty awesome too.Gotta learn their names.I really hope they haven't calmed too much since then if they ever come to Dublin I'll expect to be blown away.

  • best part is the rhythm change!!

  • @ZAKxOFxTHExDEAD

or when the guitars come in at 6:15.. i love those notes.

  • Thing is the best post rock band from Japan...

  • Thing is a very good post rock band...

  • @Resaka2 men this is not post rock.. men is... i dont kown whta a fuck it is,,,

  • Damn that I didn't know about this band 3 years ago when they played in my Country :( Who wouldn't love to be there!

  • no voice??? why?

  • @corey666171

No voice can equal the music. This is a general statement about post-rock which has almost zero vocals. If you are into singing, this is not your style.

  • @corey666171 Sometimes it's just better without vocals.

  • It's unusual to see a band thrash this much while sitting down. Ive got my tickets for June 8th here in LR AR.

  • @clovelr same, can't wait! next week :D

  • great song, great band! it's sad i've missed their concert in porto but i'm they will come around again.

  • The same riff over and over again. Might be powerful but get's old after a while. This video could be on a loop for 20 minutes and nobody would no the difference.

    Simple Post rock is Simple.

  • @Dankscarver Simple music is beautiful. Complicated music is interesting but it doesn't evoke emotion, in me at least. your probably just better than me at listening to music.

  • @mikedies89 Simple Music is wonderful. Look at Punk. But simple music that has absolutely no kind of definition is just boring. I'm not ragging on your band, it's just, they seem a little to overhyped. Post-Rock bands are meant to tell a story with their music, to slowly build to a climax and descend. This song has no climax but just does the same thing over and over until the band got bored.

  • @Dankscarver I've seen mono live several times and they've never seemed bored to me. i understand what your saying completely but you have to see mono live to get the full effect of their style, their music just makes way more sense live. if you don't like them that's fine though, sometimes sounds are just shitty to people regardless of how good they are to others. it's just personal preference, no worries.

  • @Dankscarver So you're saying a song /must/ build to a climax then descend? That's pretty boring.

  • @Dankscarver Then go look for some more complex music :D

  • 一番好き

    手に入れたくて必死にもがくけど、結局手に入らない

    もがく力のない自分の代わりに

    彼らが教えてくれるような

    切望Yearning

  • absolut

  • This song is a lot of what's good about ISIS (really haunting melody, awesome transition from the intro, great emotion and feeling put into the playing), a lot of what's good about Mastodon (minus the voice of Troy and the complexity) and some of Radiohead chucked together into an awesome show.

  • very well put! ditto.

  • i just saw them in mexico city on last september

  • beautifully devastating i love you MONO!!!!

  • weird headbanging LOL ..but realy good live *_*

  • weird headbanging? .... :P

    Mono shatters your spine \m/

  • sentimentalismo experimental

  • Quote from someone who doesn't Post-Rock, on Mono "Wow, the Japanese take emo really seriously"

  • Didn't you hear? All the most talented musicians sit in chairs while they play.

  • The guitar player was doing the greatest headbanging...ever

  • seeing them tomorrow night at the El rey, cant wait

  • Yearning??

  • i would get dizzy if i did that....

  • me too

  • I was there! They were after Mere and they was doing the pre-Pelican overture. But they totally rip it off, even a little bit more than Pelican!

    Malade!

  • i saw this album in a record store, i had no idea wat it was, im gonna have to pick it up if its still there.

  • <3!!!

  • anything Mono does has that goodness involved.. it'll carry you away to another place.

  • Amazing music. The best song of Mono.

  • MONO is the best

  • Holy crap, that was one of the best moving/dramatic intro I've ever heard

  • fodástico

  • Epic.

  • Japan rules

  • I think it's pretty cool how they dont stand up.

  • ^_^

  • why they never stand up while perform this song which is the most brutal song by them ?

  • I see this band in Poland:) *O* ...I feel extase...

  • mono is a good band and all....but there's just something so wrong to me about sitting down while playing rock music in front of an audience... i mean it looks like the guitarists are getting into the music, head banging and such, why dont they... i dont know... stand up like the bassist is doing!?

  • standing up would damage their mood, perhaps :)

  • i know right?! dont get me wrong i love the whole "shoegaze" scene but sometimes the impression that i get from the artists can be summed up in one word: fucking pretentious.... c'mon mono lighten up! yr music rocks already, now lets see those pearly whites...

  • I've seen them about 5 times live, and they only sit down for one or two songs. I guess it depends on the complexity of what they are playing. There's a lot of pedal switching going on during this track!

  • Seen them live it was fucking amazing!

  • Pure brutal, merciless, primitive drone. Love it.

  • Even this excellent video can't properly convey how devastating this band is live. It's not every day four people induce a trance, produce this sort of sound, and permit others to observe. The crowd stands around in varying degrees of shock and awe.

  • I totally agree! Seen them live 3 times, and every time they left me lying on the floor, shocked in awe for such powerful play. Godlike!

  • known them for a bunch of years, and hope to get to a concert some day ! awesome!

  • oh.. oh.... oh..... love

  • mono o kammenos o merkouris akouei tetoia lol

  • i bought a mono t-shirt from her before the concert began(in Holland). not realizing she was the band's bassist. She was really friendly indeed.

After have seen mono live. I've certainly become a fan.. i will definately see them again.

  • Seriously, was she the bassist? =|

I also bought a t-shirt before hand. Did you buy yours in W2?

  • FUCKING ROCK. That chick kicks ass!

  • awsome great fantastic

  • seein them in Detroit in October!!!, great band, very emotive music

  • In all my years, I've never seen a woman jam so hard on a guitar of any kind like Tamaki is in this video, much less in high heels. I wish this video included the first part of this song. It perfectly shows how they balance soft melodies with controlled power in their music. This band is absolutely incredible, and they're just getting started.

  • these musicians are special people to me... and yes, when you meet them they are really really nice!

  • They're so amazing. Tamaki pwns that bass so hard lol.

  • dallas in september!

  • Brilliant song, great band, fantastic time to be alive...

  • i'll be at the mono concert may 17th in nyc

  • @dawsdani you are right! all of these guys are one of the nicest musicians you can meet. and their music! just beautiful!

  • Yesterday, I went to the MONO concert.

    I lose my soul... ㅡ ㅜ"

  • Perfect <3

  • Amazing how much Tamaki is getting into this tune.

She is the nicest person you could ever meet.

  • thx, temo2k. we appreciate your advice. we love stephen malkmus anyway.

  • Merveilleux, majestueux, brutal, j'en pleure.

  • yeahh i was at the ny show too in june

  • I saw this band 2 days ago at State X in THe Hague, Netherlands.

I have seen many live bands but this band made Sonic Youth look like some 6 yr olds! (Mono came right after Sonic Youth)

  • I really don't know what to say about 'them'.Only thing that I know is they are unique and the thing that they're making is not music,it's something beyond of it..

  • Awesone! You Are There are among the best postrock-albums ever.

  • Excellent.

  • best live band. goose bumps baby.

  • holy fuck.
