The latin we hear nowadays at church is not the same latin used by the Ancient Romans, it is a more formal variation. The latin language that people used on their everyday life a.k.a. "vulgar latin" is lost to our knowledge, and the actual romance languages are all derived from latin mingled with regional languages.

Of course, all of them have the same origin, the Latin from the Ancient Rome.

i believe its not gero "shay" cruo, but geroxe cruo, geroxe bibox mallax and so on. The "xe" is spoken similar to "shay". I think "xe" makes more phonetic sense than "shay"

I think it's quite normal. Since cultists are likely American they start talking their own language when stressed and just about to die..
