Hey i was wondering if you could create a patch to where it has the lowered octave from like the middle C and down but then from C# or close to it, it plays the clean tenor sound?
hi! i play the bass clarinet, and i'm looking for a pedal to simulate a contrabass clarinet. do you recommend the vocal 300 for it? also, i've tried some distortion and wah-wah pedals before, and the sound was too dirty. maybe that's a microphone issue. what microphone do you use?
Hey mate, I have the same setup, and i notice you get the same little delay while playing the octave down patch. Gives the whole feeling of playing out of time... i really wanted to use it to play a few bass line things but can't do it as i've got to be about a 16th ahead of the beat. Any idea how to beat this?
haha, in a sentimental mood, love it!...sounds great man....Im thinking about buying one just to live'n up this funk band im in, however im a bit nervous in working out all the patches and sounds! haha
@Saxysax05 it took me many hours to set up the patches, and I'm still spending hours tweaking and adding patches. That's part of the fun, but it takes time and experimenting.
@CamTheCat I know its probably a real pain in the ass! BUT, do you reckon if you get a chance you could post a video demonstrating how to actually set up patches?
Are the DIgitech RP effects processors pretty much the same for saxophone as the Digitech Vocal 300? Just wondering cause The RP series has looping abilities and I was looking to buy one or the other soon. Thanks
@ModernSaxDotCom you can set the mix as wet or dry as you want, so all effect with no sax, an even mix, or mostly sax with a bit off effect are all possible. That's one reason I love this pedal; you can still have your clean sound come through the speaker along with the effect.
@CamTheCat thanks cam, that is one little issue I wanted to clarify. Will pick up one soon. I'll check out more of your vid's later............I am looking for this set up used in a real live band situation. Send me any links if you know of any...peace, later
@ModernSaxDotCom only if you want it to. You can set the "dry" sound (your unaltered signal) as high as you want. The full "wet" sound would be all effect and no clean sound, and that would just be the bari sound.
Thts great. I also use the vx but the 400 model. not really different from the 300, but with usb interface and sound drivers. It would b good to record through the pedal output and sync up the video later, obviously. its hard to hear the effected sounds this way. A suggestion for ur set up would b an AB A/B 3 way switch pedal and 2 mics instead of 1. (1 for clean and 1 thru the pedal) then u can switch from clean to effected to both simult.
thanks for posting these! i have been waiting to hear sax with effects... the only problem is the acoustic sound overpowers the effects, i guess thats something only recordings can deal with lol
On loud stages with an amplified band going through a house PA system you can barely hear the sax acoustically of course. I think I'll post a couple more videos with the amp louder and my sax pointed away from the camera mic.
Would you also give a demo on modifying and storing new items. Like the 3rd down and the bari sax setups you mentioned. I just purchased one of these and I'm a bit nervous about beginning to modify the factory settings. I'd like to have a better idea prior to changing, but I'm getttin ansy. Some of the ones you mentioned I don't see in my 1-40. Some I see on the top labels, but I don't see bari, 3rd down, so I'm not sure yet what I'm missing.
i was wondering...
how much does one oof those?
i like color blue too

@bdsaxophone Yes. There is a clean sound mix level/FX level, that balances the FX sound and the clean sound.

@Saxysax05 It would be fun, and I need to create some new patches, so yes I will, but no guarantee on when.

when using the effects that give the bari sound or soprano, will the normal sax play out the speakers as well? (in unison)
