  • Think to yourself all the peoples screaming inside the first airplane....

    Crazy bro !!!

  • that first one is mental!!!

  • I wish I could do some spotting at my local (TSV). But they always think you're a terrorist if you're taking pics at either end :(

  • whats the plane at 1:15

  • @TheProPilot100 im sure thats a bae 146

  • @davdaninja either a BAE 146 or Avro RJ model depending on the year it was built....theyre pretty much the same

  • the 2nd plane actually decide to "go around" at very very low altitude a good chooise to! he really was crabing alote for that landing XD

  • 3 out of 4 were from TAP, old painting, must have been Lisbon Airport

  • only portugese pilots land the airplanes the others are not...

  • aou:S

  • HOw long does it take to circle back around when they miss their landing? Anyone know?

  • @auaiao9

It depends of course how busy it is at the airport, but if they have free way, the will fly a standart circuit. When they fly the circuit, they will climb up to 700 ft and make a left side turn (a normal circuit is always to the left hand side). When there is an 45 degree angle with the runway, they make another turn. The pilot flies streight untill the runway is behind him on a 45 degree angle and makes a turn again and land the aircraft.

  • TAP rules!

  • @jonymaca

There was a helicopter crash in a cemetery in

Portugal they recovered 563 bodies so far. LOL!!

  • @vellotrol ?

  • @jonymaca

    Helicopter? 563 bodies? duhhh!!!

  • i want a restaurant style vindaloo :-)

  • It was as if the 1st guy was PIO-ing

  • Scotty! Full right enigines!

    warp 7 sir.

    AHAHA

  • Lisboa Airport??

  • yaaaaaaa...... im gonna have ta pass

  • oh you crosswinds

  • @plopkinggamer this is Lisbon's airport

  • Where was this filmed?

  • Amazing landing. Looks like crazy 90° crosswind coming from the right.

Aileron right (in the wind) to prevent drifting sideways from the runway axle... Then touch left reer wheel.

Aileron RIGHT + rudder LEFT (to put the nose back in the axle) upon touchdown. Then 2 wheels, 3 wheel touched. Throttle idle. Brakes. Shit, this guy is good at it !

  • Clap for the third one ! that wasn't that much brilliant !

  • That airbus pilot stuck it, Props.

  • scary shit

  • What would make it even worse for the pilots, is if they notice these people, standing there, with camera's.. waiting for there every little mistake... No pressure lads !! :P

  • @Boweavel There is no mistake in that landing or any crosswind landing!!!

  • Is this Lisbon? They do seem to get some shitty weather down that way. Reminds me of Jersey. Takes a few goes to get in there a lot of the time too.

  • noob got scared!

  • whats the plane @ :50 ?

  • @zman007playr BAe 146 Avro

  • wow for the first one people on the plane are freaking out probably...

  • passengers are saying, what the hell?? lol

  • There are at least three different planes in this video. One Swiss air and 2 Air Portugal, skillful crosswind landings though.

  • What is the aircraft called at 1:23

  • Lemme guess, the four mini turbine engines never showed up the second time. I think I've seen these videos from other sources.

  • it takes less than 45 min to make an "scape", climb again and make an 360º turn and try again, sometimes the winds get calmed by then...

  • Well, crews of Air Portugal know how to deal with crosswinds :) 2:0

  • And all for the love of toblerone.. tut tut

  • I though i lost one of my ear!

  • You know its going to be rough if you can look out your window and see the runway.

  • lol

  • sweet

  • I would hate to have been on any of these aircraft but well done to the pilots for landing safely.

  • im there with you cause ive been on a plane that landed like that.

  • and listen to the reverse thrusters, this is really one of my favorite videos on youtube

  • wow just love the engine throttle up sound

  • yeah here is Portugal, Lisbon the ICAO code is LPPT

  • I hate flying but if i was sitting in one off those airplane i wolud die!!! But great jobb by pilots!!!

  • hey john which airport is this and do you have rail links to this city.

  • Looks very much like Lisboa Airport, Portugal.

  • Jets 1 and 2: good calls to go around with those approaches, esp. with the Smurfjet/Fisher Price 747.

Jets 3 and 4: Excellence! I'll fly Air Portugal anyday!

  • the swiss one fretted out

  • Pilot = loving this.

Extremely skilled pilots to successfully land in that kind of weather. Was supposed to fly today but 25 knot winds turned me off.. these guys are easily surpassing three times that much crosswind. Only hope to be as good as them one day!

  • yea i know how you feel about that :( but i know they dont land in 75 knot winds :D (u said 3 times 25) no one can do that that would kill you youd have to come in at 200 or so to keep your plane steady XD but hey w.e i do admire these guys like you and want to be able to do this!

  • most airline aircraft does not have crosswind speed limitation but a demostrated speed. as you said 25 kts multiplied by 3 = 75 kts. far beyond the demostrated crosswind speed. like an A320 is about 38 kts

  • @xraxorx

Very humble from you dear friend.

  • @xraxorx same here

  • theres a diff between a crosswind landing and this severe bad weather !!

  • it's the party plane

  • because he's too low on fuel to fly far enough away from the airport where therre isn't that much wind, i'd like to see you do that

  • @nic777morrey if he is in an IFR flight plan !! which he should be!! he should have 45 min of aditional fuel !! and how u exactly now they r low on fuel were u in the cockpit?

  • I was trying to say, at someone who said why doesn't the captain just fly to another airport, that another airport where there is less wind would be well out of the range of an aircraft landing after a flight.

  • yes, if you can't fly in this, how do you expect to fly in bad weather?

  • fly it down, do not stall at landing, job well done!

  • Cause there is nothing going on here that would stop them. Cross wind landings are something you practice from Day 1, they are a fact of life, Some places it happens every landing. You learn to fly the plane in all weather from Thunder storms to calm days. Not every landing is a smooth clam no wind clear skys 70degs landing. Sometimes you cant even see the runways till 300 feet. You just learnt o deal with the weather....

  • Low on fuel,He has alot to think about, diverting to another field. What if everybody did that. They are trained to handle bad conditions. On a flight in LAX from Mexico city we had wind shear pushing us down onto the 405 in the rain ,freeway,Pilot gave full power, flaps, landed middle of runway, full reverse thrusters and brakes..it was bad. we made it

  • learn to focus

  • Fierce crosswind - pause at 2.06 and look at the tree

  • BAe 146 (British Aerospace 146)

  • BAe 146/Rj-85

  • Man, those pilots had their hands full. That looks very frustrating. Nice job by the pilots.

  • Oh, please excusem them! They're probably not all "top gun" Microsoft flight simulator players like yourself!

  • LOL I love you XD

  • lol

  • The only planes that manage to land are Portuguese ?

    TAP ?

I've heard about Portuguese pilots skills, and it seems to be right !

    Nice, men !

    Obrigado !

  • What kind of plane is that at 1:20?

  • BAE-146? I think

  • Rj85 British Aerospace actually. The version after the 146

  • the 2 last are excellent

  • Is that Chesley Sullenberger flying that? lol

  • It was good flying by the pilots

  • FAIL!

  • holy shit.....the people inside had fear to fly after this :-)

  • The airport is in PORTUGAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    xD

  • which country is this airport in

  • All respect to these pilots. That doesn't look the least bit easy keeping a commercial airliner from flipping over in a wind gust or slamming nose first into the runway.

  • what are u talking about that didn't make any sense kid

  • You're right. I just read it again and it doesn't make much sense.

  • it makes sense

  • They can have that job.

  • Anyone know the weather conditions at the time?

  • cloudy and windy as fuck.

  • im sure the pilots thought it was calm and clear thats why they executed a missed approach you only have to look at the aircraft track to see how much crosswind there was!DOH!

  • WOW. It's hard enough doing it in a Cherokee let alone one of these beasts!

  • nice video 5*

  • while I admire thses pilots, when i see lateral winds and landing vids I got happy not being a pilot!

  • DAMNGOOD PILOTS!

  • HOt damn was the swiss plane a corgo 1?

  • avro no?

  • wondewr why the second plane didt touch down looked a ok

  • He was on the far side (downwind side) of the runway, couldn't get back to center.

  • yeah i could not see it because the angle but after looking at it i agree

  • what is the planes name on 1:25

  • BAe 146, top 5th safest aircraft in the world

  • thank you man!

  • no probs at all :)

  • As my instructor used to drill into my thick skull: "No one ever makes the front page doing a go-around!" Pretty sporty crosswind.

  • Your instructor gave you some pretty bad advice.

  • i hope u mean as in you wont make that front page if u do a go around because u wont be dead. If u mean that ur a pussy for doing a go around than ur instructor is a complete idiot

  • Superb video keep doing what your doing!

  • I didn't read it .. as soon as it said don't read I stopped lol

  • Nice job to the last two. Air Portugal huh?

  • Yes, tower, you heard me correctly, I AM coming in sideways!

  • hahaha XD

  • Horrible man! I would have aged a couple of years if I was on the first one.

  • Man that first one, I hope they gave everyone a free drink, that must have sucked.

  • at least safe landing

  • how is 2:10 even possible

  • totally unstable approach, should have been aborted sooner, bad judgement

  • Portugueses do it better!!! :)

  • rite on

  • no,

  • Does Fly-by-wire make crosswind landings easier?

  • Jonnhy "Call" Racer

  • That BAE146 could have made that! I was shouting at my computer "REVERSE THRUST!!!! SPEED BRAKES!!! DONT ABORT!!" LOL. Anyway i guess it looks easyer than what it is.

  • fsxflightmaster. The BAe146 doesn't have thrust reversers.

  • Does anybody else think he came to a stop really quick?

  • he was comin' in too fast and too high that gives more problems at the time of touchin' down.(the first airplane)

  • Wow! do you know what the winds were?

  • Is this Lisbon airport? I've had a few dodgy landings at Lisbon before, and indeed after takeoff is often rough for the first few minutes. It's heaven for those who love turbulance!

It must be to do with the huge river right by the airport.

  • ho my god!

  • ajurnamat ! ajurnamat !

  • A pilot that can land one of those in that kind of weather is the guy I want as my captain. Amazing skills there.

  • I can

  • he must be bold pilot

  • and the worst airline to fly with.

  • Swiss or TAP?

  • TAP

  • Gotta land sometime :P

  • thats good point actually, lolz urr cnt reli think of an opposing punch line hehe.

  • Butterz771. So what do you suggest? A plane can't pull over and wait for the weather to calm down. There are no lay-bys at 30000ft!

  • where is the BAE 146 ?

  • rhgrsh. Between 00:39 and 01:37.

  • Yes but he don't turn back to landing

  • rhgrsh. Strong winds like these cover a large area. Even if it diverted as far away as it could, on what fuel it had, it's unlikely the weather there would be any better. It must land.

  • parabens aos pilotos da tap.

  • air Portugal lets the passengers land the planes

  • yea sure

  • I NEVER abort lading on fs9

  • You would have if you were trully seating in the cockpit of one of those birds.

  • lol

  • sorry an a321, a319 and a BAe 146 you were correct

  • those are an a321, a320 and a BAe 146

  • oh scary if ya dont like flying but for me its a buzz haha but yeah i love that sound of the REV in the A319 !

  • i bet if i was on the flight i would have already jumped and said ass don't fell me now!

  • i love seeing the big guys go around

  • Great vid! It's a weird sensation facing one direction and moving diagonally. The pilot has to scan his instruments and quickly look slightly to his left out the window. Whew!

  • very hard turbulence and crosswind, very difficult for the pilot

  • i bet everyones ass left teethmarks on their seats

  • i love the bae 146 so much, it's technical genious

  • these condition make pilots n passenger feel scared..n danger...cant they like do something...build airports where got no wind turbulence???

  • no they cant, an airport is builded in any palce of the world XD

  • omg...i hate these conditions sooo bad...they make me feel soo sick...

  • Constant flight control won't do much as the wind doesn't stay constant either, which is probably why that was happening. Gusts, up and downdraft's also don't help.

  • have you ever heard of the "stick in the river" theory? when you throw a stick into a river it flows along with the river... same with flying, an airplane in the air is flowing with the air so there is never any "crosswind" on the plane; its being carried. the trick is to fight that flow to land the same direction as the runway.

  • well, you feel it, when the plane is shaking like mad and if you would go further you would crash...then its time to put the throttle to full and pull up the nose

  • Its pretty simple...if you feel you have pee'd in your pants, its time to go around.

  • How does a pilot realize that he has to go around while landing crosswind??How does he feel it??

  • is this zurich??

  • No, it's Lisbon, Portugal. The airport code is LPPT
