Mordroc is sort of a funny old geezer instead of a terrible necromancer magnus. At the end of the gamecube 3D game, he zaps daphne on the booty-but, and just laughs like a dam fool! I can see Dirk just slapping a hand on his old shoulder, walking him into a pub, and just listening to him prattle on over a few drinks like the old buzzer he really is!

They just did a comic book adaptation where it's explained the crystal ball she's kept in cause a brain drain, which is why Daphne's a giggling, cheesecake-posing nincompoop by the time Dirk rescues her.
